Chapter 60
Callum POV
The hunters came in. I knew what they were the second they came in. I caught sight of the silver knife attached to one of the men's hips. "Look what we have here: an Alpha and his friends. Let me guess the three main people in charge." Reid and Jax said nothing. I was talking to Kaya, and then I felt a sting. A dart stuck out of my side. It had to be filled with silver because our link dropped.
I received a few more stings from darts. My eyes began to droop. Goddess, I was tired. I looked as they carried Reid out of the cell, then Jax. I knew it would be next. They would torture us and kill us in the end. That is what their goal was. They would keep us alive to get information about the pack. Then they would attack them, and they would find not one soul.
With that, they will come back and torture us more, trying to figure out where we all went. The whole thing would be painful, and I would need to find a way to escape this place. I didn't know if they would keep the three of us held together or not. I hoped it would be easier to devise a plan if we were together. The blackness claimed me.
My eyes slowly opened. The room was made of cement. I looked around to see if Jax and Reid were with me. I didn't see them. "Jax, Reid?" I called out. There was a silence, and then I heard Reid say, "Callum, is that you?" I ran to the bars. I looked out and saw a room full of cells, but none of the ones I saw had Reid or Jax.
"Reid, where are you?" He held his arm out of the bar, and I realized he was in the cell next to me. "Jax?" I called out, but there was no response. "Callum, maybe he is still out from the silver and drugs." I hoped that was the case. I didn't want to think that something was happening to him. If he had died, I would have felt it over the pack connection.
A man walked in. He was wearing basic jeans and a plain black long-sleeve. "I see two of the three of you are awake." So, Jax was just still asleep. "Who wants to be first for questioning?" None of us said anything. He went and grabbed Reid. Pulling him by the arm. I watched as Reid shoved him. He punched him and started walling on him. Suddenly, three guys came in with sticks. They pushed them at Reid, and I saw the sticks shocked him. Just then, a tall, blond woman came into the room. She was wearing black boots that came up to her knee.
Her blond hair was pulled back in a tight bun. Her brown shirt was tucked in close to her tight khaki pants. "You boys better know now that disobedience will be punished. I looked down at my best friend, who lay on the floor. Those electrified sticks had to have burned him. "Put this one back." She looked at me. "Take the alpha." She said, looking at me. "He is the one with the most useful information anyway." They tossed Reid back into the cell next to mine.
My metal cage swung open. "Out, Dog, and do as you are told." I walked with my head held high. I would not let these assholes know anything. Well, anything useful. "Rip them apart. We can kill them all." Lorde said in my head. I knew this was not the time. At least not yet. "Lorde, we don't know where we are, nor do we know how many there are, and we are nothing with silver in our systems." I tried to pacify him. I went with the men, following them like they wanted.
Strength was not going to help me in this situation. It would require planning and strategy. I tried to recall everything I knew about Hunters. They hated us but would stay away from packs most of the time. They mostly went after rogues who had gone crazy and hurt people. No one in my pack had hurt any humans other than the cops who came and took us away. So I didn't see why they exactly were holding us. Daisy had said that this was set up by Matt. But these hunters never got the information as to where we were being held, so how had they found us?
I was brought into a room. There was a big medical bed in the center. "Get on the bed dog." I hesitantly got on the bed. My arms and legs were stepped in with silver cuffs. They burned my skin, but it would be effective in keeping me immobile. Just then, the blond woman came back into the room. She stood over me, and I looked at her face. She was middle age, and she had small winkles around her eyes. "So you are the alpha of Blood Paw Pack." "I am."
"Good now; where did your pack go?" "Go?" I pretended like I didn't know what she was talking about. "Come on, you know. We got there and found no one. The whole place had been abandoned. It was like everyone packed in a hurry and just up and left. Now, why would they do that?" "Look, lady, we didn't do anything wrong. This is all just a misunderstanding." "That is where you are wrong, alpha." "Humans have gotten an idea you all exist."
"Just a few suspects." "And those who did are now dead." I didn't say anything. I knew they were. I watched Daisy kill a few herself. "They did come to take me away, and well, my mate, she didn't like that." I threw her some information. Establishing that I could be trusted. "You know the rules: no killing humans. Or did your laws change because that would be unfortunate?" "My law is no one is to kill humans unless in defense, and my mate did defend me, so I would say no rules I set were broken." "That is not the rule, though, is it. Hunters have told your kind not to kill any human and to keep your existence a secret. The king of your kind has always enforced this, right."I smirked, thinking to myself, I am now the king. I killed the last one. This hunter had no clue about anything. "What are you smirking about?"
