Chapter 184: Untitled Chapter
“The business offer to us was: we will be his eyes and ears in the headquarters. We will be in charge of reporting everything, including your movements, the kind of people you arrest every day, and releasing those who are related to his business without your consent.”
Wait a second. Now that I think of it, a lot of criminals in the prison were always missing in the first years when he came into my life. I thought I was being delusional, thinking we were not keeping many people in prison. So they were the ones releasing those criminals because Noah told them to do so.
Wonderful! This is so amazing. I can't believe I never once realized what was going on in the headquarters.
“Can you guys take a few minutes to clap for yourself? Because you deserve an accolade for this great job you are doing. Do you know why it excites me that you guys are going to prison? It is because your license will be seized, and if, after my investigation, I find out that you are involved in a murder, I will kill you with my own hands. You know I can do that. It won't be the first time I'm killing idiots like you.”
They dropped to their knees, rubbing their palms together. “We know we were not supposed to do that, but we had no choice, Detective Lizzy. Mr. Noah Dominic is one of the big fish in this town, and rejecting his offer and refusing to do business with him is just like digging our own graves.”
Likewise, doing business with him. You guys have just dug your own grave by yourselves. And you should be happy that the hole you dug is so big as to occupy all the officers whom you initiated into the business. Now, start listing their names one after the other.”
I kept shaking my head in disappointment as they listed the names of all the officers they were working with. It was so heartbreaking that most of them were the ones I always went for investigations with. The ones I trusted so much and never suspected would do anything as stupid as that.
And since they are working for Noah, they all know that he was the one who kidnapped my daughter, yet none of them cared to hint to me about anything, even when I was so disturbed and almost went nuts because of depression.
Nevertheless, I am grateful that I finally came out of that phase that nearly took my life.
They listed 10 more people, including the receptionist and the officer who is always at the desk holding the keys to the cells.
They indeed selected the people very well. The people who hold an important post in the headquarters. Like the officer in charge of the keys, he is always available to unlock the cell where any of Noah's men are locked in.
And the one at the reception will find a way to take them out without anyone else seeing them. And the one who also drives a patrol car will drive them out of the headquarters so that no one will know that there are criminals in his car. Also, the two guys staying at the gates as security were also involved in their dirty business.
This is so funny that I want to crack up.
After listening to all their confessions, pleas, and cries that would never spare them from getting punished, I called in some officers and ordered them to bring in all the officers that were mentioned.
“When you arrest them, make sure you seize their badges, their guns, and anything that belongs to the headquarters and make them look like officers. For the licenses, I will deal with that later.”
“Yes, Detective Lizzy.” They turned to Thomas and the other officer, who were crying on the floor like little children. “You guys are a disappointment to our profession, and we are so hurt that people like you are among us.”
Pfft. As if they wouldn't do the same thing if they were offered the money. I scoffed, got up from the desk, and took their guns.
“You know what? Just lock them in prison. I don't want to see their disgusting faces now.”
“And oh, where are the phones?”
“Here,” Thomas put his hand in his pocket and pulled them out.
They are so lucky that they haven't taken those phones to Noah. The idiots.
Now I feel like blasting their heads with the bullets.
As soon as they were dragged out of the office, I turned on my phone and dialed Noah’s number. He should know that I have already found out all the things he is doing, and what is left for me is to track him down and arrest him.
Unfortunately, his phone was off, and I couldn't get through to him at that moment. But that wasn't a problem; there is another big message I want to send across to him. If I do that, he will call me by himself and, who knows, apologize. Hahahaha.
I must make sure Noah sheds tears while confessing all his sins.
I gathered a few officers and headed towards Noah’s company. I was so surprised when we got to the company that they were still working in it. I thought after the news went out that Noah was the one who kidnapped Sophia and the one behind the missing women, the staff would stop going to the company out of fear, but I was wrong.
“Send everyone out!” "I commanded," wiping my forehead with a white handkerchief. The officers nodded their heads and lunged towards the building.
And in a few minutes, all the employees were brought out, each wearing a confused expression. Instead of wasting time explaining what they already know, I ordered the officers to lock down everywhere and seal the company.
With that done, I left with the keys and proceeded with my next plan. We went to the bank, and with all his bank details that I have and the evidence of his criminal act, it was so easy to have all his accounts blocked in a second.
Noah has fallen into my hands, and it will be so difficult for him to come out of it. “Close down this company, too,” I ordered when we arrived at his second company, which I only knew of. And while the officers were doing their work, my phone went off.
A mischievous grin appeared on my face when Noah’s name flashed on my face. I knew he would call me.
