Chapter 5: Help Me
Alea's POV
One Week After
It has been one week since the incident, and yes, I have been less busy ever since. Apparently, no one could ever dare to give me work to do.
They took all the work I needed to do. I swung my legs in the air while I thought of something that I could do.
The maids who were staying in my quarters had to leave me alone since they found it uncomfortable to let sleep in the same room with me, according to them.
I haven't agreed I was going to be the Luna, yet they were acting this way.
I have a gut feeling Kairo might be behind these actions, but he should just stop it already. A knock on the door called for my attention immediately, my leg stopped mud air wondering who could want to see me.
I hurriedly went to open the door, and to my surprise, Cassie was standing at the entrance of the door with my mother by her side.
"How were you two able to enter the hall?" I managed to say, my voice was a little drowsy. I wasn't just expecting them to be here. I thought being the queen was going to prevent me from seeing them.
I also thought she would be banned from entering the hall ever since that incident.
"We have. I'm here to see you and discuss a few things with you." Cassie replied to me, her fingers intertwined.
"Are you not scared that I might get to kill you finally? I didn't let you go the other day so you could get to see me frequently." I sighed, obviously frustrated.
Just one week after the incident and they were to see me already.
I thought whatever relationship I had with them in the past was the end, but it seemed like it wasn't.
"You should listen to what I want to say first." She pleaded, her eyes were red, more like she had cried before coming to me.
"I shouldn't be doing this." I stepped backwards, opening the door so they could walk in completely.
They sat at the edge of my bed while my body leaned against the dresser in the room.
"So the thing is that we heard about what happened and how you rejected the Alpha." Cassie started the conversation. "So the thing is that since you are not interested in him, would you like to suggest both of us being together?" She concluded, her fingers rubbed. each other aggressively more than usual.
"Both of us?"
"I mean Kairo and me. I've always had the ability to be the Luna. I have been planning when this is going to happen for more than a decade." She spoke faster. "Since you don't want—"
"You are not worth it." I cut her off.
"Don't say such things about my daughter." Her mother cuts in, interrupting our conversations.
"It seems like you are not ready." I was getting tired of what they were trying to pull.
"Mom! Let me do the talking." Cassie further mentioned, touching her mother's thighs.
"Please, I don't want to hear anything else from you two. You can't just walk into my room to make a funny request after the way you have treated me." I paused. Tears welled up in my eyes while the memories of how they had treated me resurfaced.
"Stop trying to make us look like the bad person here, not like it was entirely our fault." Her mother still had no remorse.
"Get the fuck out of my room. I shouldn't have allowed you two in here at first." I cussed, rubbing my hands against my thighs trying to hold the tears back in, but the both of them didn't make any move.
"Since you are not moving, I guess I am going to move instead." I stood properly while I walked out of the room, leaving both of them there.
It was starting to get really late already, and there was barely anyone along the hallway. My legs found their way to the garden while I sat on the bench, which I had found there.
I always come here whenever I have to clear my thoughts. Working as a maid here for the past few years hasn't been easy for me.
I stared at the moon.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I asked my wolf.
"I need you to get mated to him once it is a full moon. You can't break the bond." My wolf replied to me, apparently that was her only concern right now.
"You will cope if I get to break it; nothing is going to happen to you." I assured her.
"You stubborn lady." She groaned, obviously getting tired of the entire issue. I felt someone's presence around me.
"Can you feel it too?" I questioned my mate and sprang up to my feet immediately. I should leave her as fast as I can. My face stared at the ground while I tried to walk out of the garden.
"Where do you think you are going?" A manly figure suddenly appeared in front of me, unable to make me go forward. His hair covered one part of his eyes, while his dressing was a little bit rough but clean.
It was giving a pirate dressing.
Knives were attached to his waist, and I knew that he could use them anytime soon. "Who are you, and what do you want from me?" My voice filled with fear while I stepped back slowly and slowly as he kept on walking towards me.
"What do you think I am here for? Guess Queen of Shadows." I could hear a hint of mockery in his voice. I should have just stayed with annoying people instead.
Could they have been the ones who set me up?
The man who was at my front slowly raised his sleeves, revealing the relic on his arm.
A rogue.
He was a rogue. Shit. How did he get to enter the pack hall!? Even the city!? I thought the security was pretty tight according to what I heard.
"I bet you must be thinking that you would be able to take me down, but I'm afraid you can't because I am not the only one around here." He bragged, a huge smile spread across his face.
I looked around, and I could feel the presence of more people, but I couldn't figure out where they were.
"If you were at the full ability of your power, you'd be able to send a shadow to figure out where they are currently staying." He scoffed, noticing how I tried to look for these people. "You wouldn't be able to do that now since you can't use your power to the fullest."
"Just let me go, I have done nothing to you guys. I have to beef with rogues and I don't give a fuck about politics." I made it clear to them, but he didn't budge.
