Chapter 120: 120

Author’s POV

“Aunty Kelly,” Alicia called, dragging Kelly towards the ride in the park.

“I want to ride this one,” Alicia said with a smile.

Kelly was torn between taking Alicia home or allowing her to have one last ride.

Alicia met a little girl by the ride and asked if she also wanted to get on the ride.

“My mummy says there’s no money, but I can watch,” the little girl replied.

Alicia felt bad and was about to ask Aunty Kelly for money.

“Let’s go, Alicia; I need to show the attendant your ticket,” Kelly said, taking Alicia with her.

Alicia didn’t know how to ask for money from Kelly without saying what it was for when she noticed money at the tip of Kelly’s bag.

“This is bad; I shouldn’t steal,” Alicia muttered, disoriented.

Her mind was not in a place, and she weighed her options; it was better to help the little girl and confess later.

Alicia noticed Kelly was busy with the attendant and decided to use the opportunity.

Alicia slowly removed the money and tiptoed from Kelly.

“Alicia,” a lady muttered from behind and lifted her off the ground, covering her nose.

Alicia wanted to scream but couldn’t as she lost consciousness slowly.

“here you go,” the lady delivered Alicia to the client.

“Well done, here’s your remaining payment,” Alicia heard a voice say.

“Mummy!” Alicia screamed, tears dripping down her eyes.

Alicia couldn’t see a thing and was scared. She wanted to remove the blindfold, but her hands were tied together.

“Keep quiet. Do you think your calling for your mom would save you?” Alicia heard a voice say.

“Aunty Kelly?” Alicia asked, hoping it was her.

Bernadette hit Alicia on the back. Tired of her screams, she had no intentions of opening the blindfold anytime soon.

“Stop making a fuss; if you want to stay alive, it would be better to keep quiet. I don’t like to repeat myself,” Bernadette warned.

Her phone began to ring, and she picked it up.

“Do you have Alicia?” The voice asked, and the sound echoed back

Bernadette reduced her phone volume and placed it on her ears.

“Yes, I have Alicia,” Bernadette replied

“I have a feeling this won’t end well; Nevada loves Alicia and would not let this go,” Kai explained.

“I love Grey as well, and I believe you love Nevada. If she had let Grey go, none of this would have happened,” Bernadette replied

“It’s not too late to take Alicia back; I don’t want to lose Nevada forever,” Kai suggested

“It’s too late, Kai; you won’t lose Nevada if you don’t say anything. I’ll talk to you later,” Bernadette replied and hung up.

Kai was starting to feel bad about the kidnap and knew Nevada would never forgive him if she found out he had a hand in it.

The way Nevada turned him down hurt his ego, and returning to Italy was the only way to heal.

“I hope Nevada never finds out about my involvement,” Kai muttered.

Alicia listened to the conversation and realized it was someone who knew her mother had abducted her.

The lady sounded dangerous, and Alicia figured it was better to keep quiet to avoid punishment.

“Are you asleep?” Bernadette asked, tapping Alicia

“No,” Alicia muttered in fear.

“Good, you shouldn’t sleep with your condition,” Bernadette said and pulled off the blindfold.

Alicia’s eyes widened in shock, and Bernadette smiled at her.

“Do you know who I am?” Bernadette asked

Alicia shook her head; it would be easier to know who the lady was if she knew the name.

“No,” Alicia muttered

“That’s a shame; I might have gone easy on you if you knew who I was,”

Bernadette replied, enjoying the mind games.

“I’m sorry,” Alicia apologized, tears dropping from her eyes

Bernadette brought out a whip, and Alicia shivered with fear.

“Have you ever been whipped?” Bernadette asked with an evil laugh.

Alicia shook her head and started to plead for forgiveness; it was the first time someone was going to threaten Alicia with a whip.

“Please don’t whip me; I promise to be a good girl,” Alicia said, trying to release her hands

Bernadette whipped Alicia on the back, and she let out a scream.

“Tell your mom I said that’s for stealing my man,” Bernadette said with a sinister laugh.

Alicia cried out in pain, unable to place her hands on the place where Bernadette had whipped her.

Bernadette whipped Alicia for the second time and felt satisfied. She needed to punish Nevada for taking Grey, and the only way she could do that was through Alicia.

“I’m sorry I hurt you; your mother also hurt me,” Bernadette muttered to Alicia as she wept.

Alicia experienced pains that she had never felt in her life. Bernadette left Alicia alone in the dark room.

Grey had not reached out to her yet, which was surprising. Bernadette had expected that she would be the first suspect and had made plans to vindicate herself.

Kai called Bernadette for the second time, hoping she would be calmer than the first.

“Have you changed your mind?” Bernadette asked

“Bernadette, I need you to make sure nobody finds out about my involvement with the kidnap,” Kai Lee said, realizing it was the only way to get Nevada to be his.

“Of course, I have no intentions of doing that. I want Grey to myself, and I am sure Nevada would run to you because of this situation,” Bernadette explained

Kai was still skeptical about the situation but couldn’t pull out again. He had gotten involved and knew Bernadette wouldn’t let him escape it.

He sighed, feeling bad and hoped Bernadette would treat Alicia with care.

“How is Alicia?” Kai asked

“Alicia is fine. I would have given the phone to her, but she’s asleep,” Bernadette lied

There was no way she was going to let Kai know about the beating she gave Alicia earlier; Kai was softhearted and would pull out immediately, which would expose her.

Kai found it strange that Alicia was asleep in such a situation but didn’t argue with Bernadette.

“Okay, let me know if there is any need for me,” Kai said and hung up.

Nevada’s call came in immediately, and Kai ignored, not knowing what to say. Nevada called for the third time, and Kai had to pick it up.

“Kai,” Nevada said, bursting into tears.

“Nevada! Is something wrong? Did something happen?” Kai asked, pretending not to know about the kidnap.

“It’s Alicia; she has been kidnapped. I have no idea who took her,” Nevada explained, wailing like a child.

Grey had dropped her off at the house, and she couldn’t sleep. Kelly sat outside the house, and Nevada couldn’t get her to come inside.

“What do you mean by Alicia has been kidnapped? That is not possible,” Kai replied, sounding shocked

“I’m serious, Kai. Have I ever joked with something like this?” Nevada asked

Kai knew better than to expose himself and had to follow what Nevada said.

“Nevada, calm down. When was the last time you saw Alicia, and with whom?” Kai inquired

Nevada began to explain the situation and how Alicia went missing.

“A lady picked her up from the park, and we’ve been unable to identify who it was,” Nevada explained.

“I’ll get my men to work on it. Have you told Grey?” Kai asked

“Yes, Grey and I went to the park in search of Alicia but couldn’t find her,” Nevada explained, sniffing back the tears.

It had been a while since Nevada went through this much pain, and it seemed like her heart was about to rip out of her chest.

“Okay, where is Grey?” Kai asked, pissed that she went to Grey before coming to him.

It made him more determined to ensure Nevada left Grey and Dame back to him.

“Grey is still searching for Alicia; I am at home,” Nevada explained

Kai knew Grey would use everything he had to get Alicia back and needed to block it.

“Do me a favour and keep me updated with the plans; I will call my men and make sure they do their best to find your daughter,” Kai responded.

“Thank you so much; I know I hurt you, and you left because of me. I want you to know that I had nothing against you,” Nevada communicated

Kai felt his wound open up again; if Nevada had nothing against him, then it meant Grey was not in the picture; he would have Nevada to himself.

“It's fine; what is important to us now is finding Alicia. We can have the conversation later,” Kai replied, feeling uneasy.

Nevada was grateful that Kai had promised to find Alicia; if all of them could bring their men together and search for Alicia, she was sure it wouldn't take long before her daughter would return to her.

“Thank you. Please let me know if you find anything that can help with the case,” Nevada said and hung up.
