Chapter 44: Unreasonable

Chapter 44: Unreasonable

Emily almost laughed out of anger when she heard this. How could there be such shameless people in this world? She simply couldn't understand it.

But thinking about Adam's past behavior, she wasn't surprised anymore.

Because some people are just like that by nature, and they'll never change in this lifetime.

"What makes you think you have the right to make me apologize to Vivian? On what grounds?"

Emily looked at Adam with a half-smile. Vivian must have gone back and complained to Adam again, badmouthing her and saying she was bullying people with her power or something like that.

Only a fool like Adam would unconditionally believe every word that came out of Vivian's mouth, not knowing that there wasn't a single truthful word in what Vivian said.

"Shouldn't you? Emily, how did you become so unreasonable!" Adam frowned and scolded angrily, as if Emily had committed some terrible mistake.

"I never thought you'd be so jealous of Vivian that you'd bully her at the racetrack just because you're unhappy with her! Do you know that Vivian got seriously hurt!"

Adam roared almost furiously. The strong smell of alcohol made Emily step back in disgust and hatred, her eyes full of coldness as she looked at him.

"Well, do you know that she came to provoke me first?"

Emily's eyes darkened. She didn't want to argue about these things with Adam, but she also didn't want to be slandered by that bitch Vivian for no reason.

She would never have anything to do with these two people again in the future, so it was better to clear things up before that.

She just wanted to stay as far away from them as possible, wishing they would get lost.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Adam sneered. "Vivian was raised by a wealthy family after all. She's highly educated, from a well-off background, smart, proper, and very well-mannered! How can a crazy woman like you even compare to her?"

Adam's words were full of disdain for Emily. In fact, over all these years, he had probably always thought this way. "Emily, I suggest you have some self-awareness. Compared to Vivian, are you even worthy? You two don't even qualify to be compared!"

Emily rolled her eyes dramatically and was forced to laugh in anger. "Well, do you know that this pure and innocent Vivian you're talking about almost ran me over with her car?"

"Emily! I know you hate Vivian, but you shouldn't slander her like this!"

"Fine, fine, fine. What I say is slander, and what she says is true. You're really blind enough."

"Do you know how seriously she's injured? Look at you, still in the mood to drink at a bar. Where's any sign of injury? Emily, you're so terrible. I feel like I've never really known you! I didn't expect your true nature to be so vicious!"

Adam pointed at Emily accusingly. Emily almost wanted to applaud. "You're right, you really haven't seen the real me, and you don't deserve to."

Emily lifted her chin slightly, her whole demeanor changed, and she was filled with a cold, superior feeling that suddenly made Adam feel very distant.

He didn't know what was going on, just felt that Emily seemed different from what he was familiar with.

But how could he accept this? He stared at Emily resentfully. "I'm telling you, you must go apologize to Vivian! If you hadn't brought your friends to bully her, she wouldn't have gotten hurt!"

"Well, you can get lost now. I'm not going!"

Emily shot back without mercy.

Noah, who had been watching coldly, also curved his lips slightly. He really enjoyed hearing Emily curse at Adam - the harsher, the better.

Adam was truly filthy and disgusting. Just getting close to Emily made him feel hatred.

He shouldn't have such a bad temper, but thinking about how Emily had once been with this kind of person made him can't help but resent Adam.

Having possessed Emily's love but not knowing how to cherish it, and even hurting Emily like that.

Adam - sooner or later, he would deal with this fool who didn't know any better.

"Emily, I'm asking you one last time - are you coming back with me or not?"

Adam had clearly lost his patience. His expression now showed some sinister intent, his eyes seeming to flash with malice and cruelty, which was truly shocking and frightening.

However, Emily showed no fear, looking at Adam with a half-smile. "Who are you threatening? I'm telling you, you're nothing in front of me! Want me to apologize to Vivian? Dream on!"

Anger surged in Adam's heart, especially as the wound on his head was throbbing with pain, continuously dripping bright red blood.

With such a wound and a blood-stained face, he looked truly terrifying.

But Emily felt nothing. Instead, she thought Adam looked both stupid and ridiculous like this, completely played by that bitch Vivian. But this was his own doing - he couldn't blame anyone else.

"Won't listen, huh? Then I'll have to take matters into my own hands!"

Adam suddenly sneered coldly and actually rushed forward, grabbed Emily, picked her up, and turned to leave!

Emily was shocked. After coming to her senses, she immediately struggled frantically. "You bastard! Put me down right now! Adam, you lunatic!"

"Everyone, go get Emily back for me!"

Noah's face was dark as water, completely unable to sit still anymore.

Originally, he just wanted to secretly protect her and let Emily handle it herself, but he didn't expect this Adam to be so vicious, actually daring to lay hands on Emily!

Sooner or later, he would cripple this bastard's hands!

The black-suited bodyguards beside Noah had already bowed respectfully and rushed forward.

"Let go! Let Ms. Hart go!"

"Who are you people? Try touching me!"

Adam was furious and fought with these people, but how could these bodyguards be stopped by him? One of them raised his hand and punched Adam hard in the face.

Adam's face was knocked sideways, blood spilling from his mouth again, looking extremely miserable.

"Get lost right now!" Emily didn't look back, cursed angrily, turned and left.

What bad luck! If she saw Adam again, she was afraid she couldn't help but beat him up too!

"Emily!" Adam still wanted to go after her, but was immediately blocked by several bodyguards like a human wall, instantly turning his face iron-blue with anger.

Adam clenched his fists and muttered to himself, "Well, well, Emily, you have people protecting you now. You're really different, aren't you!"
