Chapter 29: Humiliating Jennifer

Jennifer,

How did it happen? What’s happening with me? How did they find such a private video?

Just a few days ago, my entire life had turned upside down. I thought I would survive somehow as long as Alpha Brightblade was there for me. But this—?

My heart started pounding like crazy as I watched myself moaning like a dog in heat. My face turned pale as my attention slowly went to Klint, who had the same expression as mine.

Everyone was staring at me with disgust and disappointment.

“I can’t believe that. Is this really Jennifer? Oh my God! She’s a homewrecker.” One of them didn’t hide their disappointment.

“She’s been having an affair with Sir Klint? I can’t believe that.”

“No wonder Luna Queen decided to send her away. Was it Luna Queen’s plan all along?” They started giving me dirty gazes.

My entire body shook as I stood there frozen. My eyes stung with tears.

“She is shameless! I can’t believe that. She used to be my idol!”

I felt so humiliated that I turned to leave. But my entire body froze when I noticed Alpha Brightblade standing on the seabeach, clenching a paper cup. His eyes were filled with disgust.

Unable to bear anything, I tried to run, but before I could do it, a hand reached my shoulder and threw me against the floor in front of everyone.

“Who?” I hissed, but a sharp slap across my face made everyone quiet. Dawn’s wolf spirit was visible behind her as she wrapped her fingers around my neck.

“You bitch! I have been supporting you, letting you use my name to fund your career, and you dared to betray me? How dare you!” She pressed me against the floor in front of everyone.

They watched in the distance, enjoying the humiliation. My breath hitched, making me feel like a cheap, shameless person who didn’t deserve any kind of sympathy.

“Speak!” Dawn’s voice roared. Her fingers tightened around my throat. “Say something! You wanted fame, didn’t you? You wanted attention. Now you have it!”

Her eyes were burning with rage, and yet I saw something else in them—disappointment. Maybe even betrayal. The one emotion I never wanted to see from her.

My lips quivered, the salty taste of blood spreading across my tongue. “I didn’t mean for this to happen,” I whispered, though even as I said it, the lie sounded empty.

I knew what I had done. Every secret, every risk, every stolen moment had been a choice—my choice. Because I loved their attention. The way they would do anything to keep me happy. I loved being the one they sought solace in.

And now, every choice was staring back at me, projected for everyone to see.

Dawn released my neck and grabbed my hair, forcing me to look up. “Did you think you’d get away with this?” she asked. “After everything I gave you? How dare you destroy my life, my marriage, and betray me!”

Her hand trembled slightly. She wasn’t just angry—she was hurt. That realization made my chest ache for a second before it turned into something colder. I forced my lips into a bitter smile. “I never asked you to,” I muttered under my breath.

“It’s not my fault that your husband found happiness in me. He would complain countless times that you failed to satisfy him!”

The crowd gasped. Someone shouted, “She’s not even sorry!”

“You bitch!” Her sharp nails ran through my cheeks, piercing my skin. “Shameless snake!”

Their disgust deepened, whispers turning to open insults. “Look at her face—she’s not crying anymore.”

“She’s actually proud of what she did.”

“She’s sick.”

Their voices tangled together like a storm around me. I could feel my reputation being torn apart piece by piece.

The woman they admired, the one who smiled and charmed her way through the pack, was gone.

Now all they saw was a scandal, a liar, a woman who used what she had and lost control of it.

My eyes met Alpha Brightblade’s again in the distance. His stare was colder than before, his jaw tight. The disgust in his eyes was unbearable. I wanted to scream at him, to tell him he didn’t understand—that I wasn’t the only one at fault. I needed to find someone else to give me attention when he was busy playing the perfect husband with that bitch.

But what would it matter? No one listens to a fallen woman. No one would know how much it hurt to see everyone having such a perfect life when I had nothing.

My mate wanted to kill me because I just kissed his brother once.

Klint still hadn’t moved. His silence was louder than everyone’s accusations combined. He just stood there, his face pale, like a coward pretending none of this had anything to do with him.

Dawn’s breathing grew heavier. “You disgust me,” she said finally, letting go of my hair. I collapsed onto the cold sand, coughing. “Everything you ever touched was rotten. I should’ve known. I should have known that an outsider is always an outsider.”

I looked up at her—at her perfect posture, her clean conscience, her rage—and something inside me snapped.

Maybe it was exhaustion, maybe it was the realization that nothing could get worse. I was caught. The game of playing with all the women’s husbands behind their backs had finally ended.

I straightened my back slightly and laughed, a small, broken sound that made everyone fall silent.

“You think I’m the only one?” My voice was hoarse but steady. “Half of them are worse than me. They just hide it better.”

Someone gasped. Dawn’s eyes widened. “Shut your mouth! Don’t compare yourself with another person. How dare you betray the people who fed you!”

But I didn’t. Because what was the point? My shame had already been stripped away, so I might as well tell the truth. I didn’t just play with their husbands—I collected information. More than anything.

“You all act disgusted,” I said quietly, “but you love watching this, don’t you? You love seeing me fall because it makes you feel clean. It makes you forget the things you’ve done behind closed doors.”

“Enough!” Dawn shouted, her voice trembling. “Get out of my sight!”

Her words hit hard, but I didn’t flinch. I rose slowly, brushing the sand off my trembling hands. My eyes darted around—faces full of disgust, pity, and satisfaction.

And yet… I felt strangely calm.

Because this was it. The end of pretending. The end of playing the victim or the saint. The end of hiding who I really was. I didn’t care about the perfect image of Jennifer, the greatest artist. I was a woman who would climb into any man’s bed when I wanted attention.

I looked at the screen one last time. My own image flickered there, wild and desperate. For a moment, I almost pitied that woman. Almost. Then I turned away.

No one reached out to help me. No one said a word.

Just the cold wind from the sea and the sound of waves crashing behind me.

I walked past Dawn without meeting her eyes. Past Klint, who couldn’t even look at me. Past Alpha Brightblade, who once promised to protect me.

Now, there was nothing left for him to protect.

I thought if I walked away, everything would be done. They would just be happy to watch me run away like a pathetic loser. But before I could step out, Luna Queen’s voice echoed in command,

“Capture her. This is a sin we will not ignore!” she announced, her voice cold. “Guards! Take her to the central dungeon! We will decide what kind of punishment she will get for breaking people’s marriages!”

My eyes widened in shock. I turned, facing Luna Queen, who smirked. A realization hit me. She was the one who exposed me publicly to get revenge. And she was trying to silence me about her own secret.
