Chapter 54

Billy's " Wild Bill" POV

We had fallen asleep. I was woken up sometime later by Chris. He was trying to be quiet.

" There are rogues outside the forest."

"Alright, I'm coming."

I looked at the goddess sleeping next to me. I didn't want to leave her, but I knew that I was needed. I quietly got out of bed and got dressed. I walked out to the hallway.

"Chris, stay here in case she wakes up."

"Yes, Alpha."

I walked out of the cabin and shifted into my wolf. I started running towards the growls. I stopped just behind the tree line and so did my men. There were ten wolves. There were six of us. So we could take them easily. We charge out of the treeline and attack. I sink my teeth into one's neck. I can taste the metallic taste of blood. I could smell the blood and fear around us. I can hear the screams of the wounded and the men who have been attacked. I snap one rogue's neck with my mouth. I then feel a searing hot cut through my shoulder. Another rogue has jumped onto my back.

I reached around with my mouth and yanked him off. He's bleeding from his nose, and then the rest runs off. I shift into human form before my men can attack the injured one who is left.

" No man takes him to the jail on the compound. I want to interrogate him."

" Yes, Alpha."

They haul him off. We make our way back to the cabin. Chris tells me that Shawna woke up, but she's asleep now. She had gotten up and looked for him. I carefully slip back into our room and take a shower to wash all the blood off me. I have a few wounds, but they will heal by the morning. There might be a slight scar where the wounds are, but I know how fast I have healed. I get out of the shower, and I stare at the sleeping girl in my bed. She still looks like a goddess sleeping. Her creamy skin against the dark sheets. The moon's light highlights the curve of her body.

She was breathtaking. I silently crawled into bed next to her. I pulled her close to me. I inhaled her scent of strawberries and cherries. Her scent is as intoxicating as too many whiskeys. I could lie here and inhale her scent all night. I fell back to sleep.

" Good morning, baby."

" Morning."

I could tell she wanted to ask me where I disappeared to last night. I hope it wasn't that I was cheating on her. I would never do that to her. I have slept with other people before, but I have always made it clear that they were just fuck buddies. She didn't ask; instead, she cuddled closer to me. Her warm body pressed against me. I wasn't naked when her butt brushed against my cock. I let out a long breath. I wanted to make love to her again; however, I wasn't going to. Her body next to mine felt so warm and comforting.

" Shawna, I know you want to ask where I went."

" Yes, I do."

Even acknowledging that I knew she wanted to ask me, she still didn't.

I explained to her that it was a rogue attack. I expected her to call me a liar or get mad and jump out of bed. Instead, she looked at me and softly said.

" Bill, I need you to communicate with me."

She was right; I needed to communicate with her about everything. Then she said, in an unsure voice, with a look that said she had been thinking very carefully about what she was about to say.

" I have no idea what I'm doing here."

" I don't know what it means to be a Luna or be your mate."

I pulled her close.

" I know, baby, you will learn."

I knew she would learn she was already reading books, plus she could ask Amber. He knew that she would help her. Amber has been trained to be Luna her whole life. But whatever the moon goddess had in store for her was up to the moon goddess. I stroked her cheek and asked.

"Hey babe, do you want to train with me today?"

" Yes."

I was not surprised she wanted to train with me. Every Luna wanted to train with her alpha. I wanted to touch her body and show her how to use her hips for more than making love, but if it went that way, then so be it. Just being with her, no matter what we were doing, even if it was her being under me while I explored her body. I have been busy tending to business since she came into my life and dealing with things. Tomorrow night we are going on a run, and I'm taking her with me. She can visit with the other old ladies and find out what is expected of her. She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me.

I pulled her close to me, and we lay in bed for a while.

"It's time to eat some breakfast, then we will train. She got up and got dressed. She chose a black tank top and a pair of shorts. We went to the kitchen, and Amber had breakfast ready. I pulled Shawna into my lap as Amber served us. I would occasionally tickle her, and she would giggle. Then she would eat more food. Then she would feed me. Everyone was shaking their heads and watching us. I didn't care. Being close to her and touching her was very comforting and a turn-on.

We finished eating, then went out to the training rounds. First, we stretched and then ran. Warming up our bodies. She showed me what Amber had shown her yesterday. She was a quick learner. I would adjust her stance and help her move her hips. I leg-sweep her, catch her as she falls to the ground, and lay her gently on the map. I lay next to her and started kissing her.

" You look so beautiful."

We made out on the mat. We were playing in the waterfall when we were interrupted by Big Dog.

"Alpha, you're needed. Your brother is here."

Of course, he would show up without me meeting him at the airport. I looked up.

" OK, show him in, and I'll be there in a minute."
