114. Caleb - Lunaris Wolves

114. Caleb - Lunaris Wolves

Lunaris Wolf.

It’s the first time I’ve heard the word lunaris. I don’t even know what it means.

“Explain,” I demand, tired of being kept in the dark.

Tatiana has never told me the full truth, no matter how many times I’ve asked. I’m not even sure what the truth is anymore or what questions I should be asking because the only thing she’s ever said is that a powerful she-wolf is after my mate and me. She never gave me a name, only ever calling her she, telling me that speaking her name would give her more power.

Tatiana made it clear how dangerous this she-wolf is and how vital it is to kill her. But she also warned me that the path to do so won’t be easy.

It doesn’t matter how hard how easy it will be, I won’t let anyone hurt Red ever again.

“As you all know, there are many realms—each created by different gods and goddesses,” Tatiana begins. “But what you don’t know is that the very first realm was created on the Moon, by Selena—the goddess all werewolves worship.”

Elton and Esyn are the only ones who don’t look surprised by Tatiana’s revelation, which tells me they know more about this than I do. And that doesn’t sit well with me because I need to know everything Tatiana knows.

Tatiana continues speaking. “For nearly two thousand years, life in the Lunar Realm was peaceful. Everyone who lived there had powers gifted to them by the Moon Goddess herself. But among all the werewolves, two clans stood above the rest. The Primal Clan, charged with protecting the Royal Family of the Lunar Realm. And the Lunaris Clan—made up of powerful healers, fierce warriors, and gifted oracles.”

The word Primal rings a bell.

Anan once told me that I’m a Primal Wolf—which means I’m connected to the werewolves who once lived in the Lunar Realm.

So is Red... since she’s a Lunaris Wolf.

“What happened to the Lunar Realm?” I ask.

Tatiana studies her bright red nails for a few seconds before answering. “The last King of the Lunar Realm, King Endymion, was engaged to a princess from a powerful realm. But he fell in love with one of his guards—a beautiful female named Lyrielle. Their love was blessed with a daughter. Her name was Sera.”

Tatiana falls silent, giving me a moment to process what she just said.

Sera.

“Is Sera the same one who created this realm?” I ask, needing to be sure I understood exactly what Tatiana just revealed.

Tatiana nods. “Yes. Queen Sera is the daughter of the last King of the Lunar Realm and Lyrielle, his royal guard. Like you, she was a Primal Wolf, born with the ancient power of those who came before her.”

“I assume King Endymion’s fiancée found out about his betrayal,” I say, trying to piece it all together.

Tatiana nods. “Her fury and heartbreak twisted her, corrupted her heart until she became something else—something that wanted only vengeance. She destroyed the Lunar Realm, killing everyone who didn’t escape her wrath.

King Endymion and Lyrielle died defending their people. But their daughter… she was smuggled out in secret by a female from the Lunaris Clan, who raised her as her own.”

“So the one you’ve been warning me about—the one who wants to kill Red and me—is she the same person who was once King Endymion’s fiancée?” I ask.

“Yes,” Tatiana confirms my suspicions.

I glance at Tristan, who is just as confused as I am. “Why?” I inquire.

“She vowed to destroy all the Primal and Lunaris Wolves,” Tatiana replies. “Rain is the last Lunaris Wolf—but there are still a few Primal Werewolves left, scattered across several realms. And,” her gaze sweeps across the study, “there’s even a Primal Vampire. The only one of his kind.”

Elton’s eyebrows shoot up. “A Primal Vampire? How is that even possible?”

But before Tatiana can answer, I cut in with the only question that truly matters to me. “You said Lunaris Wolves were protected by Sigma Wolves. Does Red have any? And if she does—how do I find them?”

Tatiana waves a hand toward Katherine and Esyn. “Two of Rain’s Sigma Wolves.”

My brows knit together. “How do you know that?”

“When a Lunaris Wolf touches their Sigma Wolf for the first time—also known as Sigma Warriors—they both experience pain,” Tatiana explains. “Then, tattoos appear on their bodies, crating a bond between all of them. It’s not a mating bond, but it’s just as powerful. Sigma Wolves exist to protect the Lunaris Wolf they’re bound to. Through this connection, they can even summon the aid of the Great Wolf of Goddess Selena—Fenrys,” Tatiana explains.

The tattoos on Red’s back come to mind. She said that she doesn’t know how she got them and that they suddenly appeared on her body.

My focus returns to Katherine and Eryn. “Can I see your tattoos?” I ask.

Eryn lifts up the hem of her dress, revealing her left leg, up to her thigh. The tattoo inked into her skin is striking—a howling wolf, poised beneath a crescent moon. Above the moon, two crossing swords gleam in black and silver ink. The wolf’s fur blends seamlessly into a stem of a water lily, matching Rain’s mark.

“You are Rain’s Shield,” Tatiana says as she sees Eryn’s tattoo.

Esyn lowers the hem of her dress. “I’ve never expected such an honor, but I will protect her with my life,” she vows and I take her words to heart.

Katherine, more hesitant, pulls aside the fabric of her blouse to reveal her right side. Her tattoo is subtler, more delicate—faint waves and curling ribbons of wind dance around a moonflower, its petals soft and luminous. Nestled just beneath the bloom is the faint outline of a water lily, half-hidden within the flowing lines, as if woven into the wind itself. The entire design seems to shimmer slightly, as if touched by starlight.

“I know both of you,” I say, a bit reluctant, “but Red will need more than two Sigma Wolves to protect her, especially when I can’t always keep her safe.”

“Three Sigma Wolves,” Esyn corrects gently. “When I realized I was one of her Warriors, she told me she had already felt the bond twice before me.”

“Who is the third one?” I ask.

“You’ll have to ask Queen Rain,” Esyn replies.

I nod. “I will.” My gaze shifts back to Tatiana. “Is that all you wanted to tell me? I’d like to return to my family. It’s been a long day.”

And I need time to think. Everything Tatiana revealed… It’s a lot to take in. I’ll have to ask her more about the Lunaris Wolves later—I want to understand Red’s powers better. Somehow, they balance mine.

“There’s still more,” Tatiana says, her tone shifting. “Especially about Queen Lamia. She knows you’ve been named the new King of the Diamond Realm. And she’s not pleased.”

That doesn’t surprise me. That bitch thrives on suffering and pain.

“What is she planning to do?” I ask.

Tatiana’s gaze darkens. “To attack this realm.”

This week have been very busy and I didn't had time to update. The next chapter should be ready in 2-3 days :)
