Chapter 172 THE STRUGGLE

Chapter 172 THE STRUGGLE

ROXY

I had no option but to return to Leo's penthouse. He should deal with the situation however he chooses.

All night and day, I have ended up shedding tears all because of him.

I can't back out now. Not after everything that's happened. Fighting is my only option.

I know that after what happened between Tom, him, and me, his heart has completely closed off to me. His mind is made up, and I doubt he'll ever love me again.

Not anymore. For months now, I have been trying to reach him on the phone, but he isn't taking his calls, nor has he returned any of them.

Anyone can call me desperate at this point. I don't care. If forcing myself on Leo will make him take me back, then who freakin' cares? I tried something and it didn't work. Yet that doesn't mean I should back out now.

After all, that bitch, Sienna, wasn't coming back to him. As far as he knew, she was gone for good. Besides, he wasn't seeing any other woman either.

Leo gave me another look, his eyes burning.

“Leave this place this minute before I return,” he said and walked upstairs.

“Thank you for letting me in…I love you,” I gave a sly grin, my eyes fixed on his back view as he walked away.

“I don't think you're welcomed here. Mr. Leo is furious already,” I heard Sarah's tiny voice.

“Oh please,” I shushed her. “You don't have the right to make that decision. So just keep your mouth shut. Is that clear?”

“I advise you to leave immediately to avoid being disgraced, Miss Roxy,” she said unflinchingly again.

I'm not an arrogant person. But I hate when people of low standard talk to me in the manner I consider inappropriate. That is what the common housekeeper just did now.

My lips curled immediately. “I'll just let this slide. Let's pretend this conversation never happened. Okay?” I nodded my head.

She tilted her head, her smile radiating in a sly grin.

“So, you think my boss and his girlfriend are done for good, huh?”

My eyes widened. “What was that supposed to mean?”

“Nothing,” she gave another smile. “You'll find out when the time is right. Please excuse me.”

Sarah, attempting to walk away, I gripped her wrist and dragged her backwards.

“Please tell me. Is Leo seeing any woman?” My eyes flickered nervously around.

She gently pulled her hand off my grip.

“Mr. Leo doesn't want you anymore. Why can't you take the hint and let him be? Honestly, aren't you tired of trying so hard when it's obvious he's moved on?”

“Tired, you say?” I gave a boisterous laugh. “I don't have a word for you, darling. I thought you had something important to say. Never imagined you'd spew this trash from that dirty mouth of yours.”

She smiled again, her demeanour calm.

“I guess you're not daft, Miss Roxy. Isn't it obvious that you're being a nuisance to this man's life already?”

I looked at her in silence, unable to find the right words to tell her.

I wonder what gave her the nerve to speak to me in this manner. If I didn't know Leo too well, I would have thought he had something in common with her. But he's not. Yet she kept her feathers high like a peacock.

Turning away from her, I moved to where my bags were. She ignored me too, and we didn't exchange words till I moved one of the luggage to the escalator.

I promise to deal mercilessly with her when the time comes.

The corridor was silent, but not silent enough to drown out Leo's voice drifting from his sister's room.

My eyes darted between Karen's room and the bag in my hands.

I was tempted to drop the bags and go see Karen, but I decided it would be better to finish unpacking first.

Before I came here, I had already planned to make friends with Karen. It's only through her friendship that I can win Leo's heart again.

Winning Karen over was my best chance of getting Leo back. He adored her and had a soft spot for anyone who cared for her. If Karen was on my side, Leo might not be far behind.

Good.

I gave a manipulative smile and began pushing my bags inside Leo's room. I'm not going to give him space like I did the last time.

As I was about to open the door to get the other bags from the living room, Sarah's voice echoed in my head again.

“So, you think my boss and his girlfriend are done for good, huh?” Those were her exact words.

I rolled my eyes, my hands hooked at the doorknob but unable to open it.

What does Sarah mean earlier? Is Leo truly seeing another woman? Was it her, Sienna?

No.

That can't be.

“That's a bloody lie,” I shook off the feeling.

Just as I was about to open the door, it opened accidentally and knocked my forehead hard.

I screamed in pain.

“What the hell are you doing in my room?” Leo walked in.

What?

Is he yelling at me when he is supposed to be apologizing?

“You hurt me!” I screamed again to get his attention. Although I was feeling pain truly, I wanted to use that opportunity to get Leo to touch me again.

But he won't do that.

None of my tactics are new to him anymore.

“Will it stop being dramatic?” his voice struck without mercy.

Seeing I got caught, I stopped groaning and rubbed the affected area instead.

“It hurts. You know that.”

“Leave my house immediately. Don't dare me.” He didn't bother looking at my face.

“I’m going nowhere!” I walked angrily to the bed and sat.

“This is my house, and you have no business being here. Leave now, or I'll have the guards escort you out.”

“I’m going nowhere! What did I ever do to you? Why are you treating me this way?” I said, occupying my position dominantly.

I've made up my mind to stay, and that's final.

“You won't leave, right?” he said furiously.

“I have waited too long, Leo. You don't take my calls or even return them. How long should I keep begging you to take me back in your life? It's months already,” I snapped back at him.

Then, before I knew it, he grabbed my bags and began to fling them out of his room.

I crossed my legs firmly against each other, unmoving. I was waiting for what Leo would do after throwing my bags away.

He opened the door suddenly again and, before I knew it, he lifted me up, carrying me out of his room.

“Let go of me!” I screamed in his hands, but it didn't work.

Leo gripped me tighter, carrying me like I was a light sheet of paper.

When he wouldn't let go of me, I grabbed his neck and bit him hard.

He groaned and reflexively let go of me.

“I’m not leaving. I will never leave!” I screamed, running back upstairs.

If being dramatic is all I can do to stay with Leo, then he should be pretty ready for me.
