Chapter 165: 165
LEONARDO’S POV
A couple of months gone and Lily is still this amazing.
“Ah, God. Lily.” With a serrated groan, I erupt violently, flooding her with my heat. Pinning her hips, I grind against her, emptying myself as deep in her as I can get.
I can’t believe this, sex in an opera. The feeling of getting caught by any random person just makes this experience worth it and dare I say it is a turn on for me.
As I finish, I suck in a harsh breath and gather her hair in my hands, kissing the side of her damp throat. “I wish you knew what you do to me. I wish I could tell you.” I whisper.
She holds me tightly. “I am yours.”
I start over again, thrusting rhythmically. Leisurely. As if we have all the time in the world. Thickening and lengthening with each push and pull. She loses her breath on a particularly masterful stroke.
“I need you, Lily.” Her eyes are rolled backwards, making her look like she is convulsing but it is just her enjoying every inch of me inside her. My gaze is fierce on my face as I move inside her. “I need you.”
I come once again and pull out of her. She heaves a heavy breath as I pull out slowly from deep inside her.
I dangle my length before I insert it back into my trousers. We both take a moment to breathe, kiss, and revel in the moment before I say, “Let us return to the opera.”
“We really should before someone walks in on us here.”
“Behind you Love.”
I hoist her up from the platform and spank her ass. I stay a moment and watch her catwalk out of the restroom before I follow behind her.
We get back to the opera where we sit at our reserved seats and smile to each other as we watch the same lady from before sing a very high-pitched melody.
I have so much planned for this evening and I know she will be happy when I do what I am about to do. I do not leave her side, or allow her to leave mine, the rest of the evening. I keep my right hand linked with her left all the way through the show, once again choosing to use only one-hand rather than release my hold on Lily. In no time the show is over and Lily is so excited and ready for what I have planned.
I can tell that the opera was an amazing experience for Lily from the way she is smiling. As we walk outside, we discuss our experience in the opera.
“This was amazing.” Lily says.
“Oh yeah? The toilet experience or the lady singing? Which one?”
“All of the dummy.” She giggles softly and taps my chest.
“I love that you are happy.”
“I love that you alone make me happy.”
I stop and kiss her briefly, not minding the crowd that is coming out of the opera. I pause and stare at her face.
This is it. This is the moment.
“Lily …”
“Yes?” we see the look in our eyes. We are so connected; I can tell she knows what I am about to do.
I gesture to get on one knee to finally do it and just then, a troupe of cars swerved with murderous intent and park right in front of the Opera.
The sound of the rubbers screeching on the asphalt distracts me, and the headlights of the cars hinder my vision. I cease kneeling and stand straight, staring at the cars that so aggressively parked before me.
I wait as the doors open dramatically. Just then, that sixth sense that I have kicks in and I know this cannot be good. Two months living a different life has dulled my instincts to know when danger is imminent, but not this one. I can tell that great danger is about to come out from the cars. The crowd that is coming out for the opera can tell, because they are scampering away.
“Lily. Let’s go.” I grab her arm and race into the opera.
“What is going on Leo. You’re scaring me.” She says.
“It is what I feared most Love,” I pant.
“What?”
“My past is here to haunt me.”
Emerging from the cars are a bunch of wise guys and the biggest of them, their leader, looking familiar. It is Tomasso.
“Hello dear nephew. Not so fast.” His voice echoes and I stop in my tracks. “Look at the once great Leonardo now running away like a little bitch!”
“Lily, go. Inside now!” I whisper. Lily is so scared.
“Have you come to repay my kindness with evil?” I roar at the top of my voice.
“What kindness?” A lady voice calls out from behind.
“Mia?” What the hell? This is how they repay me?
“Locking me up in a cage to rot? Is that what you call kindness?”
“Kindness is not putting your head on a spike for what you did!” I thunder, my voice echoing around the vicinity.
“Oh, Shut up Leo.” Mia mocks.
“I don’t like this, Leo. Let’s run.” Lily cries as she tugs on my shirt from behind.
“Kill them.” Mia orders.
The thugs she and Tomasso came with take out their guns and spray bullets at the few ladies and gentlemen coming out of the theatre who were not intuitive enough to run away when danger arrived. The men kill innocent people in an attempt to kill Lily and I.
I had sensed the danger already, when the cars were at a distance speeding toward us, so I am already very close to the door of the Opera where I can get refuge.
I shield Lily with my body and rush her back into the theatre, this is about the time, the bullets start raining; gaining in on us.
“I wish I killed these motherfuckers” I curse under my breath as I rushed with my head bowed into the theatre.
From outside, I can hear Tomasso call out, “Leonardo Dicaprio, you are a hard man to find.”
Lily and I seek cover from the bullets, that Tommaso, Mia and their men spray, under the cover of some seats.
I hear Mia cackle maniacally.
“We are here to finish what we started. Killing the Narciso Dicaprio's lineage. We do not want to see any of his children alive."
“You see brother was always kind of a pain in the ass.” Tomasso begins.
“A real pain. Always thinking he was better than us.” Mia completes.
“Even the family he bore did. You thought you were better than us.” Tomasso thunders. His voice grows louder as he approached the empty opera. The door closed.
“Now we will kill you.” Mia says.
“You will die with your nanny.” Tomasso continues. “Who will save you now?”
A deafening silence follows.
Nothing is going to ruin my evening, or what I was about to; not even this moment that I feel like I am about to die. I know I might die.
I always feared this day would come. It is just quicker than I expected.
I turn to Lily who is now crying, “Lily, these past few months of my life with you has been the best of my entire life…”
“Oh my God, what is happening?” Lily asks.
“… and I want it to remain that way forever” I kneel and pull out a ring box and pop it open in front of her_ the surprise I have had planned for a month now. This night was going to be the night I was finally going to pop the question. It was supposed to be beautiful; us, in front of the opera after a beautiful night.
Outside, Tomasso and his thugs advance closer to the theatre door.
The moment Tomasso kicks the door of the opera down synchronizes with the moment that I say to Lily, “Will you marry me?”
Lily shrieks in joy and sadness before she says, “Yes”. Tears flow freely down her eyes. The tiny black rock on the ring is shiny. I kiss her passionately, waiting for my end.
Borne out of this moment of massacre and trouble, is something undeserving of this world. A love bound for life, almost.
Even if I die right now, let it be in the arms of Lily.
“Hey Boss.” I hear a familiar voice echo in the opera, distracting me from kissing. I look up and see Romero. He says, “Catch,” then tosses a gun to me.
I catch the gun and cock it in a heartbeat.
“Let’s kill some bitches.” I turn to see Oreste.
"Lily," I get up, "seems we are not dying today."
"Romero!" She sounds gleeful, but still in tears.
"Duck!"
Immediately, a troop of Tomasso’s men storm in and spray bullets at the empty opera.
Lily ducks underneath a seat just like I told her to, hiding herself where no bullets can touch her.
I engage the men coming in.
Gunshots.
From all corners of the opera emerge men that once worked as my security detail; all heavily armed and ready to open fire. The joke of it all is that I do not recall any of their names. I don't think I ever knew their names.
Tomasso and his men kick open the doors and storm in.
A gunfight ensues, as the men open fire on every man that steps foot through the door_ every man that stands for Tomasso.
I bob and weave, hiding behind a pillar as the bullets fly through the air. I watch as bodies drop; bodies of Tomasso's men.
Romero has taken Tomasso, Mia, and I so unaware, because he has the upper hand in the fight. I am the wining team.
As I hide behind a pillar and watch as Tommaso lose the battle, there is only one thought on my mind_ kill Tomasso and Mia.
I have to. The fact that I left them alive still haunts me, no matter how I try to hide it.
I peek to get a view of where Tomasso and Mia hide. They are just right outside the door.
I sneak through the pile of bodies and move outside, oblivious to Tomasso. I fire a shot at his leg, then another at Mia's, incapacitating them. Tomasso tries to shoot but I speed to him and kick the gun off his hands.
I stand over Tomasso and Mia, my gun loaded and cocked.
"You don't have the balls to kill me. You never did." Tomasso spits at me.
"This is different Tomasso. I have a life to protect now and killing you guarantees me safety. So give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right now."
"Do it pussy." Mia hisses.
I take a deep breath before I break my promise to Lily. I pump Tomasso's brain full of lead first.
"Wait Leo. No." Mia begins to beg but it falls on deaf ears. I shoot her brains out.
The Opera goes quiet. The gunshots cease and Romero, Oreste, Lily, and several other men come out.
“Are you okay Capo? Did the Bastard hurt you?" Romero asks.
"I am now Romero. She said yes."
I race to Lily and hug her tightly.
"Leo?" She whispers as she points on the dead bodies of Tomasso and Mia. "Did you..."
"I had to Babe. They would have kept coming for us. It's all over now."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes Babe." I am downcasted that I broke my promise to her. But, she does not mind, "It's good you killed them. I love you for it."
"To forever, my Love."
"To forever."
I kiss Lily in this horror filled opera, welcoming a new life to forever.
"Romero, how did you...?"
"After you paid us off Boss. I called the men together to keep protecting you in secret because I knew this day would always come."
"Your services are appreciated." I say.
"Save it." Romero says, "Our work here is done."
They all take a bow before they walk out.
"Let's get out of here Lily." I take her hands as we tiptoe out of the massacre, to a future of bliss.
Together, always and forever.
