Chapter 29
But before the call could connect, I heard footsteps outside the sealed room.
Boom! The door of the sealed room was blown open.
Katie and I were blasted into the wall and then onto the floor by the shockwave.
A middle-aged man wearing sunglasses walked up to me and asked, “Are you Christina?”
I opened my mouth and uttered a single word, “Yes.”
He waved his hand, and both Katie and I were tied up.
He sat in a chair, holding a cigar, scrutinizing me.
“Was it you who made him break off the engagement?”
Seeing that his features, his eyes and eyebrows, actually resembled Kevin's to some extent, I roughly knew who he was.
Kevin's father.
“No,” I denied.
“You're not admitting it?”
“It doesn't matter,” I shrugged.
With a wave of his large hand, a man with double-arm tattoos came forward and stripped Katie of her clothes.
My mind went blank.
“Get out of here, I'm going to kill you both!” Katie also went crazy, struggling to resist, but she was no match for these people at all.
“This has nothing to do with her!”
“Uncle, please spare her,” I knelt on the ground, begging Kevin's dad.
He bent down, pinching my face, “Who is your uncle?”
“This little punk, his taste actually matches mine,” he pinched my face and suddenly laughed.
Katie was still struggling and crying over there, while someone hit her and took photos of her.
My heart ached.
“Uncle, I will do anything for you, she's just my classmate, it's not her business, please let her go.”
“Anything? Can you leave Kevin?”
I stood there in a daze.
“I can,” I raised my hand and swore, “I will delete him now and never see him again. I will do as you say, just let them stop.”
“Stop? My men haven't had a girl in a long time.”
I had no choice, I rushed over again, trying to stop those men, but I was grabbed by my hair and thrown out.
“Bring the stuff.”
What is it?
In a haze, I felt someone injecting something into me.
It's over!
Before losing consciousness, I heard Kevin yelling.
“What did you inject her with?”
“Are you even human!”
“You destroyed my mom, and now you want to destroy me!”
“I promised you, isn't that enough!”
...
I wanted Kevin to see Katie, but my head spun and I felt extremely nauseous, unable to focus on anything.
Finally, I heard Patrick's voice, “Stop crying, I'm here.”
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him carrying Katie out of the secret room.
Seeing Katie rescued, I finally closed my eyes in relief.
