Chapter 91: THE PICTURE (1)
At 9:00 a.m., Isabella was startled awake by the buzzing sound of her phone. She groggily blinked her eyes open, her heart skipping a beat as she remembered the important meeting scheduled for today. She hurriedly reached beneath her pillow and retrieved her phone, stunned that she had overslept yet again.
Glancing at the phone screen, she saw it was Leonardo calling, and she knew by now he must be seriously furious at her for not sending the edited documents on time. Isabella couldn't help but smile. He deserved it, a taste of his own medicine. She waited a few seconds longer before answering the phone-call.
"Hello, sir," Isabella said, her voice calm and unbothered. The last time she took her job seriously, he didn’t appreciate it, so she decided not to put in too much effort this time.
"What took you so long to answer the damn call, you slut? Huh?" Leonardo's voice boomed angrily from the other end of the line, nearly deafening her. She yanked the phone from her ear and quickly adjusted the volume before placing the phone back in her ear. "You're not saying anything, huh?" he bellowed when he noticed she was silent.
Isabella rolled her eyes, trying not to be affected by his rage. "I asked you yesterday if I should send you the file once I was done, but you didn't respond," she calmly reminded him.
"You know today is the meeting, Isabella, and anyone with common sense would realize it's urgent and important!" His voice remained irritated and aggressive. Isabella couldn't stop smiling.
"If you needed the file so badly, maybe you should have allowed me to send it yesterday immediately after I was finished with the edits," she retorted, her smile growing wider.
"Just shut the fuck up and listen to me!" He demanded firmly, and Isabella stayed silent, intently listening to what he had to say. "Send the file to this contact immediately, or else there will be consequences!" Leonardo threatened, his frustration evident in his tone.
"Oh, really? Will I finally be fired then?" Isabella asked sarcastically, knowing just how crucial the presentation was to him. She was well aware that he couldn't afford any mistakes.
"Fuck no! You're not, so quit behaving...," Leonardo said, as he had no choice since he desperately needs the edited documents for the meeting.
"Uneducated?" She completed his statement and scoffed. "But you gave me the documents to edit. Sure, why not just say it" Isabella shot back. She knew Leonardo couldn't do anything about her attitude, especially when she isn't in the office to face any immediate consequences.
"Shit! I know you weren't worth this position. Send me the documents right now, Isabella!" Leonardo's voice sounded very annoyed, but Isabella didn't care because this was payback for making her suffer yesterday. "Isabella, before I get to the office, make sure you send me the file!" Leonardo added, and he sounded dead serious before he abruptly hung up.
Her phone beeped with an incoming text message from Isaiah.
Isaiah: "Good morning, my sweet angel."
Isabella smiled when she saw the text. She knew what he wanted. The picture. She got out of bed sluggishly, undressed naked, and went into the bathroom. A few minutes later, she emerged with a towel wrapped around her chest. She opened the wardrobe and immediately remembered Matteo's comments: ‘You should see yourself nude, princess’. The remembrance of those sweet words he said made her smile, as she could still hear the soothing tone of his voice. She recalled the intimate moment they had shared—how he worshiped her body as if it was made perfect, just for him to enjoy and praise, then the way he admired her, making her feel special. No man had ever looked at her that way.
Isabella turned to look at herself in the mirror, and she couldn't see anything that made him go crazy. She cupped her breasts in her hands and squeezed them. It was soft, just as Matteo had stated. She wishes she could feel his strong hands on them again because it gives her pleasure that she's currently unable to feel.
Isabella sighed. She hoped Matteo didn't really leave her like Leonardo had said, and for some reason, she couldn’t fully believe Leonardo's words. ‘Or could he be behind Matteo's absence?’ Isabella wondered because she was certain she noticed something off about Leonardo’s attitude when she kept questioning him about Matteo yesterday.
