Chapter 86: YOU'RE NOT SERIOUS
Isabella didn't dare to say anything else.
"That's what I thought," he said with pride, leaning back in his chair. "A whore who would do anything for money," Leonardo said, infuriating her.
Isabella wanted to confront him, but she clinched her fist tightly. She doesn't blame him, but she does blame Matteo for enabling him to take over his office position. She took the tray of coffee off the table and walked out of the office to get him some coffee.
Isabella's mind drifted back to the conversation she had with Leonardo as she made her way to the elevator. 'Did Matteo really leave, or was Leonardo just lying?’ She thought then wondered why Matteo could do this to her by leaving her here with his brother, even after what they shared that night. Since Leonardo is aware about her aware with his brother, she is sure Matteo must have told him, and they must have probably used her as a joke for being too open for Matteo to use her. They are brothers, so there is a possibility that Matteo would have told Leonardo, but Matteo isn't as childish as that. Or could it be possible that Leonardo was the one spying on them that night? ‘No way’, Matteo told her, no one was watching, but that doesn't hide the fact the elevator opened.
Isabella sighed. She was stressed out and tired of thinking about it. She needed answers regarding how Leonardo obtained her phone number and how he found out about her affair with his brother.
She arrived at the elevator and entered with her heart racing. She felt humiliated and incredibly embarrassed. Perhaps this was part of Leonardo's plan to ruin her, and it was working. She pressed the bottom, and the elevator closed and began to descend.
The elevator beeped open a few minutes later, and she stepped out, heading to the coffee island. She smiled at the lady in charge as she placed the tray on the island table. "I'm sorry, but Leonardo said I should return this and get him a hot coffee", She said.
The lady smiled back at her and said, "Sure", before taking the coffee from the table and replacing it with a smoking hot cup of coffee. She covered the mug before pushing it towards Isabella. "That would keep it warm", She explained.
"Thanks," Isabella said and carried the tray to Leonardo's office. "I've got you, your hot coffee, sir," she announced as she approached the table and settled the tray on top.
"Coffee," Leonardo demanded coldly while typing on his computer, and Isabella takes the cover out before shifting the tray to him. He stopped what he was doing and grabbed the mug from the tray and brought it to his lips, but he didn't drink it.
"It's too hot; make it warm and perfect", Leonardo said, dropping the coffee back on the tray before pushing it back to her.
"But sir, you can just blow it to make it warm", Isabella advised, seeing that it would be stressful if she had to return it when he could simply allow it to cool down or blow it with his mouth.
Leonardo raises an eyebrow at her and asks, "Is that how you do it in the jungle where you came from?" He asked, and that sounded rude to Isabella.
Isabella was annoyed and didn't respond, prompting Leonardo to yell at her, "Answer me!"
Her whole body shook with fear. "No, sir," she replied promptly. She doesn't want to make the matter worse.
"So go back and make me a warm, perfect coffee," Leonardo said sternly, and she grabbed the tray quickly to do just that.
Isabella returned to the coffee shop, and she noticed the lady frown as she approached.
"This is the second time I've seen you here," the lady commented, shocked.
"I'm sorry," Isabella apologized. "He said he needs a warm and perfect cup of coffee", Isabella said.
Her brow creased. "That's strange, but are you sure it's Leonardo because he likes his coffee hot?" the lady asked, as it sounded odd.
"I don't really understand him. Just give me the coffee before he starts shouting", Isabella said, and the lady obliged.
"My name is Chiara, in case you come back," the lady chuckled.
"I'm Isabella, and it's nice to meet you," Isabella responded politely as she picked up the coffee from the table and returned to Leonardo's office. Placing the cup on his desk, she said, "Here is your coffee, sir."
Leonardo took the coffee once again, raising it to his lips, but hesitated before taking a sip. Suddenly, He tossed the cup to the ground, narrowly missing Isabella.
Isabella gasped aloud as she instinctively took a step back, startled, avoiding the shattered mug from splitting on her.
"It's too perfect; get me another one!" Leonardo demanded.
Isabella couldn't help but let out a scoff, her frustration evident in her expression. "You’re not serious," she muttered under her breath, struggling to hide her annoyance.
