Brianna’s POV

It was soon time for the meeting and I got into the car with Ryan. All through the drive, I couldn’t really concentrate on the conversation with Ryan. My heart kept beating faster than usual and I was really scared that something was going to happen.

“What’s wrong?” Ryan asked when he noticed I was acting strangely

“I’m really scared Ryan. Cancel the meeting please!” I pleaded

“I should cancel the meeting? But we’re almost there and the contract is really important to me” he said

“I know it’s really important but if you were to choose between me and the contract, what will you do?” I asked

“You of course! There’s no doubt about that.” He said

“Then please forget about the contract. I really don’t feel good about this Ryan, please I’m begging you” I pleaded

“We are here already. I promise not to spend more than ten minutes so don’t worry about me” he said

“Ryan” I called feeling really scared

“Don’t worry, I will be back before you know it” he said and got down from the car

I also got down from the car but he was already walking ahead of me while I picked the necessary files we will be using from the car. The sound of a car zooming off with great speed was what I heard that made me look back.

At first, I turned back to what I was doing immediately but it slowly dawned on me that my eyes caught the sight of blood. Was it blood or paint? I looked behind me again and this time, I could see things clearly.

I thought I was dreaming at first so I stood there, waiting for everything to disappear, waiting for when I will wake up from the dream but nothing happened. I pinched myself over and over again but it seems everything was real.

Even though I confirmed it was real, I didn’t believe it. There was no way I could believe it. Ryan was in a pool of blood and many people rushed to help him because he was well known but I just stood there waiting for my dream to end.

It was when the ambulance came that I realized I wasn’t dreaming and I could never wake up from this dream because it was reality.

“Is there anyone that wants to go with the ambulance?” someone asked from the car

I ran as fast as my wobbling feet could carry me and got into the ambulance with Ryan. I couldn’t even see his face because he was covered in blood and had lost consciousness too.

“Ryan, you can’t do this to me. Open your eyes and wake me up from this nightmare please. We were talking few minutes ago so please open your eyes and talk to me” I said with tears in my eyes

I felt like I couldn’t even breath anymore. I just kept crying nonstop until we arrived at the hospital. The nurses took him to the emergency ward (ER) and I was asked to wait outside.

For the first time since I was born, I went down on my knees to pray. I’ve heard Christians say there is a God in heaven who listens to everyone’s cries and prayers but never in my life did I imagine going down on my knees to pray to him because I never believed he existed.

I felt totally confused and helpless but that was the only thing that came to my mind. I kept crying and telling that God to keep my Ryan safe and left him be fine.

As soon as the doctors came out, I stood up from my knees and ran to them. It looked like it was evening already from the way it looked outside.

“Doctor, how is Ryan?” I asked

“Who are you to the patient?” the doctor asked

“I’m his girlfriend” I said quickly

“Doesn’t he have any relative?” the doctor asked

“Please doctor, just tell me how he’s doing. I don’t know any of his relatives but we’ve been living together for a while now so I’m considered a family too” I said impatiently

“Fine. Wait for me in my office!” he said and walked away

A nurse took me to his office and I waited for a few minutes before he finally came in.

“Sorry to have kept you waiting. The patient is in a critical condition and I’m afraid he might go into coma. The accident was….”

I couldn’t hear anything the doctor was saying anymore after he mentioned Ryan going into a coma. The words became distant and more distant until I lost consciousness.

Justin’s POV

I put the plate number of the bus on it back and returned it to the owner. I knew there were cctv cameras in that restaurant so I had to rent a bus to do the job and I removed the plate number too.

Even though Ryan is a mafia boss, he’s a normal human being just like every other person out there and I’m sure he won’t be waking up. I remember the look I saw on his face but what I don’t understand is why he had that look because it’s not like he saw my face.

“What’s the latest news on Ryan Santiago now?” I asked one of my men

“Right now, we haven’t really gotten any information. People are more interested in what happened and how it happened. They want to know if it was an accident or if it was done on purpose and most people claim it was done on purpose” he answered

“That is none of my business. Even if they know it was done on purpose, they can never trace it back to me. The news I want to hear is how Ryan is doing. I want to be sure that I did the job properly” I said

“Boss! There is a news on Ryan Santiago” one of my men said running inside

“Turn to the channel” I said quickly

“Yes!” I screamed after hearing the news

Ryan Santiago is in a coma right now and the doctors are not sure if he will wake up. Even if he manages to wake up, it will take at least six months. Six months is more than enough for me to wipe out the loyal members and take over the cartel with the help of Alexander’s cartel.

Finally, the day I’ve been waiting for is here. Brianna is going to be at her weakest so now is the perfect time to kidnap her. She must be exhausted and heartbroken after hearing that Ryan might not wake up so I can have her to myself now.

If she refuses to have sex with me willingly, I can just rape her. Just because I tried and failed years back doesn’t mean I will still fail this time around. I’m not the same Justin from back then, I’m a totally different man now.

“I need you to go to Thompson medical center this night. You have to bring Brianna to me here at all cost and don’t you try to underestimate her because she’s stronger than you think. Bring her to me tonight or don’t return to this place” I ordered
