Chapter 29 Chapter 29

Chapter 29 Chapter 29

Katsura.

I had just taken my bath and was making my way into the bedroom when I noticed a presence in the room. I didn’t think much about it because the light had gone off and it was being checked to know what had gone wrong.

I let the towel slide down my wet body to the floor while I reached out my hand to get my body lotion, but the light came on and I let out a sharp scream when I saw who was standing right in my room with arms folded to his chest.

“How… how the hell did you get in here?” I shrieked, my hands searching for the towel on the floor and my widened eyes on him.

“Why do I feel you are just pretending?” He said, walking toward me.

“Have you gone nuts?”

“How dare you walk in here? I’m naked!” I quickly snatched the towel and wrapped it around my body.

“Come on… you knew I was here. You could feel my presence,” he continued, now his eyes were trailing my body. If his eyes could tear off the towel into shreds he would be more than willing to do it.

“You need to leave… Now!” I ran to the door and held it open for him, but he ignored me and walked to the window and sat on the window frame, looking out through the window.

“You leaving or what?” I yelled.

He didn’t say a word, he only tilted his head to look at me with a smile. “I knew I didn’t make a mistake when I told him I wanted you.”

My brows knitted in confusion. My hand slowly slipped away from the door handle as I grasped the towel tighter around my body.

“Wha… what are you talking about?” I stuttered.

“Healer of the clan, a lowly omega on the run for years masking her scent with the powerful scent of the Alpha who was meant to hand you over to the elders.” He reminded me of that one thing which I dreaded to think about.

“What do you want?” My voice was calm, barely above a whisper.

“I want you,” he shrugged.

“Wasn’t that clear enough?” He asked, cocking his brows.

I was about to say something when the door creaked. The sound startled me, the door opened revealing Alessio standing by the door, his eyes darting across the room.

“What’s going on?” His baffled stare rested on the towel tied around my body.

Alessio grabbed me by my arm, shoving me next to him as his eyes settled on the other man.

“Have you lost your mind?” He growled, his grip on me tightening.

“I was only paying her a courtesy visit,” the young man replied casually, adjusting on the window frame he sat on.

“I could have you thrown out of here in minutes if you don’t get the hell out of here,” Alessio threatened, his chest rising and falling in rage.

The young man shot him back a glare, and that was when I knew he wasn’t going to budge to whatever threats Alessio threw at him.

“Really?”

“Go ahead, have them throw me out,” he smirked, unmoving.

Slowly, he turned to me even though he had no smile on his face. “Are you okay?”

What a good time to ask. I muttered under my breath while I nodded to his question, I was already too confused to utter a word.

“I’ll get the maids to sort everything out, but I need to get you out of here,” he turned to open the door for us to leave.

“Come on, brother. You don’t have to be this way,” the young man approached us.

I quickly snapped my eyes to Alessio who now charged toward the young man, grabbing him by his collar.

“Call me that one more time and… I’ll have you…”

“Thrown out of your clan?”

“Tell me something new please. I’m sick of hearing the same thing,” he pushed Alessio off him.

Wait… did he just refer to him as “brother?”

“Oh, look she is surprised,” the young man pointed at me, who in turn settled my gaze on Alessio.

“I’m Drogo Draven, his elder brother,” the young man said, extending a hand for a handshake.

I slightly shook my head, my eyes darting from him to Alessio. “I’ll be excused.”

I ran through the hallway leading to Janiece's room, and immediately I got in. I shut the door behind me, resting my back against the door with my chest heaving.

“Are you okay?” A hand touched me.

I shrieked but when I turned to Janiece with the puzzled expression on her face, I gently nodded.

“Yeah… yeah,” I swallowed, fighting the urge to ask her questions which swarmed in my head.

“You’re sure?”

“You look like one who has seen a ghost,” she teased with a smile.

I smiled awkwardly at her before I turned to leave, but I stopped in my tracks when I knew I could stuff some information out from her.

“Janiece?” I turned to her, my fingers twitching.

“Yeah?”

“Can I ask you a question?” I bit my lower, trying to stop myself from going further.

“You can ask me anything, Katsura,” she said.

“It’s about the young man… is he…” I saw her facial expression slowly turn dark, a part of her I’ve never seen.

“He is…”

The door opened and it slammed shut noisily. We tilted our heads to the door only to see Alessio standing before us.

His eyes darted from me to Janiece and then back at me. “We need to talk,” she turned to leave, and when he found out I wasn’t behind him he frowned.

“Now!”

I sighed and followed him closely behind.
