Chapter 94: She Will Always Be Ours

Mason was fast asleep when he felt someone push on his shoulder. He was very tired, he’d gotten into another fight with Amber about her and Mary going with him He had intended for them to have a quiet night, fucking and then marking her.

Amber refused it all. She didn’t let him even touch her, much less let him mark. “No Mason! You will not be marking until I know that I am truly the female you want.” Was what she told him the night before.

“Mason, get up!  We need to get going.” Amber said throwing his clothes at him.

“What the fuck Amber?” Mason growled.

“It’s getting late, you’re the only one we are waiting on.” She said, rolling her eyes at him.

“You don’t need to throw my clothes at me.” He grumbled.

“Just get up. We need to leave.” She said, grabbing her small bag and walked out.

“She’s our mate NOT LaRea, not anymore.” His wolf growled.

“They both belong to us.” Mason said, quickly getting ready.

“NO! Only Amber. LaRea belongs to...”

“Don’t say it!” Mason grumbled at his beast. “She will ALWAYS be ours!”

“Not ours, I have my mate. You lost us our first True mate; you will NOT lose our second chance mate.” His wolf growled.

“You will shut the fuck up! I’m the human, I make the decisions, not you.” Mason snapped.

“Mason! Let’s go.” Amber growled, walking out to meet Byron and Mary.

“Where’s your mate?” Byron asked.

“He’s still in bed, being a lazy asshole.”

“I’m not in bed. I am up and do NOT call me an asshole. I am your mate and Alpha. You’ll show me the respect I deserve and have earned.” Mason growled.

“You have to earn trust.” Amber said, “and you have lost all my trust. You have to prove yourself to me. Prove to me that you’re worthy of being my Alpha and most importantly, my mate.”

“Amber!” he yelled as she got into a separate car from his. “You will ride with me in my car.” Mason ordered.

“I don’t want to ride with you.” She said, shutting the passenger door.

“Mason, please let her be, she’s very upset with you. She needs time to cool off.” Mary told him.

Mason narrowed his eyes at him mom, she told you, didn’t she?” He asked, “you know what her plan is, don’t you?”

“Yes, we’ve discussed it and I don’t blame her.” Mary said. “You keep going on and on about LaRea.” Mary scolded, “you should be more concerned about your mate not some slut ex.” She went on. “Amber is your mate, not that pathetic nobody.”

“That pathetic nobody is about to crowned as the next Alpha Queen! I should be the one standing by her side as the next Alpha King, NOT Zoltan.” Mason roared. “We need to leave NOW! I have a crown to take over.” He shifted, well, at least he tried. His wolf blocked him out. “FUCK!” He yelled and got in the passenger side of the car.

Byron sighed heavily, he just couldn’t get Mason to understand that he was never destined to be Alpha King. This whole time his eldest son, Zoltan, was the one destined for greatness. He was proud of Zoltan; he should’ve been more supportive of him. Deep down he knew that Zoltan was going to have to kill his little brother. It’s all his fault; he never should’ve pitted Mason against Zoltan. He didn’t want Zoltan to be the one who’s responsible for the death of his little brother. He was the one who created this mess. He already had a death sentence hanging over his head, he was going to have to be the one to handle this.

“Byron, love, are you, okay?” Mary asked.

“Yes, my love,” he said. He couldn’t let Mary know what he was thinking, she would do whatever she could to stop him. She always favored Mason over Zoltan, Jordon and Lacey.

“What do you think?” He asked his wolf.

“It’s better that we do what needs to be done.” His wolf stated. “We both know what could happen.” He sighed. “We will need to be the one to take our son’s life. His wolf will return to the Moon.”

“But he’s set on being King?” Byron answered.

“We must speak with Zoltan,” His wolf stated.

“Let’s get some rest and figure things out when we get there.” Byron said.

“Byron,” Mary said, putting her hand on his arm, “are you sure you’re okay?”

“Yes, I’m fine, just thinking,” he said, “if this goes bad,” he started via mind link, “we are all dead. There’s no way Mason can beat his brother.”

Mary gasped, “you have no faith in our son?” she said.

“Him going up against Zol, who’s the future Alpha King. I can tell you that I already feel a difference in Zoltan. He feels... stronger to me.” He admitted.

“He’s betrayed our family! He’s taken what rightfully belongs to Mason.” Mary said. “You should be ashamed of yourself,” Mary snapped. She didn’t speak to him for the rest of the drive.

Byron was frustrated, his mate and son didn’t understand why Zoltan’s the one to be Alpha King and not Mason. Byron closed his eyes, tried to relax when he was calmer he reached out and tugged on his family tether to Zoltan’s. “Zoltan, can you hear me?” He called out.
