Chapter 92: Part Ninety-One

Adrian proceeded to tie Jackson’s hands behind his back and then checked the other two. He tightened Sumari’s binds and then tied Kyle’s hands behind his back. He went to the kitchen and took out a pitcher of orange juice from the fridge. He poured a big glass and mixed the mountain arnica powder with it.

“Mom!” The children were screaming for Susan. Their faces were streaked with tears and Kyle was screaming hysterically.

“Don’t hurt my children,” Susan sobbed and she struggled against the cable ties as they cut into her wrists.

He made Kyle drink the glass of orange juice. He watched the children as Kyle began to show the first signs of dying. Adrian didn’t feel sorry for them, they would grow up to be wolves.

“You see, Susan, this causes accelerated heartbeats, can you hear it? The blood is from internal bleeding and very soon muscular paralysis will set in,” Adrian told Susan as Kyle started coughing up blood and slumped in his seat. The muscular paralysis was starting to affect him.

“Kyle!” Jackson screamed and he fell forward as he tried to reach his brother. His voice was filled with anguish and anger and the hatred in his eyes showed as he looked at Adrian.

“Help…” Kyle said softly as he wet his pants. Kyle died as he coughed up more blood and convulsed in pain. The fear in his eyes was evident as he looked from Jackson to his mother.

Adrian started to laugh as he looked at Kyle’s body on the couch. The three others were screaming and crying.

Adrian walked up to Rupert and forced his mouth open as he poured more orange juice down his throat. Rupert coughed as he choked on it and Jackson kicked out at Adrian, his feet landing on Adrian’s thigh. Adrian slapped Jackson with the back of his hand and blood trickled from his lip.

Susan tried to vomit to get rid of the wolfsbane, but she could feel it moving through her body. It was preventing her from turning as her organs started shutting down.

“Did you know that mountain arnica and wolfsbane are very poisonous Susan?” he asked her maliciously as Rupert struggled to breathe and he started vomiting blood.

Sumari’s eyes were shut tight and she was crying while Jackson still screamed and struggled to loosen his bonds.

It was quarter to five and Marrick would be home in fifteen minutes. He took out a black tubular object from his other pocket and proceeded to fasten it onto his pistol. The silencer would ensure that nobody heard the shots that were to follow.

He shot Sumari in the head and looked at Jackson with a half-smile on his lips. Jackson’s eyes grew wide and he screamed as Sumari’s blood spattered across his face, he shot Jackson twice in the head and laughed as his body slumped forward over Susan and his blood spilled over her.

She was screaming and it reached a hysterical level as Jackson’s blood made little rivulets across her chest. The horror was plain to see in her eyes as she waited to die. Adrian took a kitchen towel and pressed it into her mouth to muffle her screams.

Marrick Goldman turned into his driveway and parked the car. It was unusual for the front door to be closed and the children not to be playing outside. He wondered if they had been naughty and sent to their rooms for him to deal with them.

He walked up to the front door and smelled blood. He left his briefcase at the front door and stormed into the living room. He saw the policeman standing over Susan, saw his dead children and in an instant his suit tore from his body as he changed and lunged at the intruder.

Adrian heard the front door crash open and turned as Marrick Goldman changed into a wolf and lunged at him. He raised his gun and fired two shots into Marrick Goldman’s head. The wolf fell to the floor and as he died, he changed into his human form.

Adrian’s eyes were large with shock and his hands started to tremble slightly. His heart was racing as he looked at the carnage that used to be the living room. Susan was in the final stages of dying. She looked at him and he pulled the kitchen towel from her mouth.

“Why?” She sobbed. Her tears ran unchecked down her cheeks and the sob made her choke.

“I don’t like wolves. I am here to rid the world of you all,” Adrian said to her. He had bought the pistol and silencer from a notorious drug dealer one night on a dark corner, dressed in black jeans and a hoodie that covered his face.

Susan’s heart stopped beating as the wolfsbane finally reached it. Adrian sat down on the single brown recliner and savored the moment. He would remember this for the rest of his life. The feeling of power as they died one after the other. He felt a kind of gratification that he couldn’t explain. He went to the bathroom and masturbated as he closed his eyes and relived his killings.

After he had done some research and spoken to an employee at the Alaskan Wildlife Centre, he had also laced the bullets with wolfsbane. He knew they wouldn’t heal from this. Wolfsbane was fatal to wolves. They were dead. He washed the cups of tea and replaced them in a cupboard. He wiped every surface that he thought he had touched.

He changed his clothes and waited until it was dark outside. He carefully closed the door behind him after he put Marrick’s briefcase in the foyer. He walked the two blocks to his car and drove away slowly.

Another shudder went through Adrian as he saw Marrick’s wolf size in front of him again. He didn’t mind the bloody scene he’d left behind, these people didn’t deserve to live. They were animals and he would get this town back under control.
