Chapter 94 White wolf.

Chapter 94 White wolf.

Monroe.

Lucid dreams had always plagued me from a tender age.

Sometimes the faceless man would hold me down while I was unable to tell whatever expression hid behind his facelessness.

Other times, Dad would tear up my clothes and watch his friends touch me.

But this was new.

I stood in a desert-like environment. The farthest the eye could see was sand and dust.

But then, a low growl tore through the sharp sound of the humming wind.

I spun around to see a black wolf with eyes so red, they seemed like they were crafted from blood.

It bled with a majestic aura, standing like it owned the desert.

Rather than running away, I beamed and walked towards the obviously deadly creature.

“I've missed you,” I said to it.

It closed its eyes and rubbed its head against my palm, forcing me to giggle like a little girl fond of her pet.

But then it stepped back and bowed its head a bit.

Trying to understand what it was doing, another animalistic sound interrupted my thoughts.

I spun around to see the most elegant white wolf I had ever seen in movies or books.

“Wow,” a sound escaped my lips.

The wolf was adorned in jewels, something that should have been absurd or out of place, but rather, it made it much more sophisticated.

Its amber eyes peered into mine.

“It's time,” I heard, even though I didn't see its mouth move.

Like a flash, the wolf walked into me.

Yes. You read right.

Walked right into me, like I was an open door.

I sucked in a breath and jerked awake.

Panting.

What the fuck was that?

Then, slowly, my eyes started to register my surroundings.

Where the fuck was I?

My hand was on something hard and soft at the same time, also warm.

I groped it and blinked to clear my vision.

Where the fuck were my glasses?

I tapped around, only to find them buried under the leaves a few inches from us.

I slid them on.

Much better.

I tried to sit up, only to realize something was restricting my movements.

That was when it hit me.

The heartbeat.

The shallow breaths.

The unnatural warmth.

There was someone below me.

The events of last night flooded into my memory, giving me no time to feel the shock of my life.

I had slept outside with a stranger.

That's a better way to put it.

I had actually slept in the woods with a stranger who may have had a bad fever, smelled incredible, and had his hands wrapped around me.

Questions filled my head instantly.

I was out in the cold for a long time. Why wasn't I cold?

Why was the sleep peaceful?

And what was that weird dream?

I'll find the bits and pieces later. For now, I needed to leave this place.

I twisted slowly. For some reason, I didn't want to wake the stranger up. He seemed way too tired and unwell the previous night.

His arm pressed against the small of my back.

“Awake?”

His raspy baritone itched my brain in a good way.

I looked at him, lost yet again in his eyes.

They looked just like the ones on the black wolf.

So alluring yet dangerous underneath.

Yet I knew he was hiding the dangerous part of him. Hiding it well enough so he wouldn't become something people despise.

But how was I so knowledgeable while looking at his eyes alone?

“If you keep looking, ma'am, you might fall for me.”

My senses kicked in immediately, and I scrambled off him.

Was he shirtless yesternight?

How did he expect me not to fall for him if he was built like that?

His muscles called to me to feel them under the smooth flesh.

The tattoos trailing his body beckoned for a feel, a lick, a kink.

Anything.

I averted my lusty gaze.

“I hope you feel a lot better now?” I asked.

He nodded.

“Thank you. You saved my life.”

There was no need to be so dramatic.

“Yeah… No problem… Anytime… no, not anytime…”

Okay, I think it's time I shut up.

He smiled.

A sight that had me all messed up immediately.

Fuck, how can one man be so… everything?

I got to my feet, roughly folded the blanket, and spun around to leave awkwardly.

“Please wait.”

I stopped but didn't turn around to look at him.

“If you need anything… I mean… anything at all, let me know. I'll do all it takes to do it for you.”

Goosebumps travelled through my spine.

“No need.”

That was the curt reply I could come up with.

I walked out of the woods, realizing it was still the wee hours of the morning. There were no students outside, but the gate was already unlocked.

I walked through the gate and into my block, careful not to arouse suspicion or make any noise that would wake people up.

Why was I acting like I had done something bad?

Had I?

That's if cuddling a man in the forest the whole night was tagged as ‘bad.’

By the time I reached my floor, I slowly opened the door, forgetting how stubborn it was.

The door creaked so loudly, I would be surprised if the dead didn't wake.

I rolled my eyes at its attempt to put me in trouble and pushed further until it was large enough to slip through.

I did and slowly pushed it until it clicked shut.

I let out the breath I had been holding the whole time.

Finally.

I spun around and flinched.

Onyx sat on the bed, hands crossed, looking like a wicked stepmother.

“Welcome, your highness. How was your night?”

Just great.
