Chapter 101: Chapter 101

"They complement each other perfectly," Liam observed, his scholarly mind already analysing the significance of our wolves' appearances. "The golden sun and silver moon, day and night in balance."

Kane remained vigilant by the door, his tactical mind never fully at rest despite the beauty of the moment. "We should still proceed with caution. Helena's people are still out there."

He was right, of course. As much as I wanted to lose myself in this precious moment with my brother, the threat remained. Even though Helena was now stripped of her wolf, and in one of our cells, there were many more of her people out there. As my mates and I watched the transformation, I couldn't help but feel the significance of this moment. The Northern Alliance had spent seventeen years trying to corrupt my brother, to turn his golden light into shadow, and they had failed. Apollo stood before us in his true form, radiant and powerful, exactly as he was meant to be.

A sudden commotion outside the door interrupted our moment of triumph. Kane immediately moved into a defensive position, his body tensing as he listened.

"Alpha Maxwell," he reported, recognising the footsteps. "Something's wrong."

The door opened to reveal the Alpha, his expression grim. "We've received word from our scouts. Northern Alliance forces have been spotted approaching from the north and east. At least thirty warriors, heavily armed."

Apollo growled, his hackles rising at the threat. I felt Diamond's answering surge of protective instinct, her presence merging more completely with mine as we prepared to defend what was ours.

"They're coming for both of you," Alpha Maxwell continued, his eyes moving between my brother and me. "Our intelligence suggests they have another ritual prepared, a backup plan in case their first attempt failed."

I nudged Apollo gently, feeling Lucious's anxiety through our bond. His first shift had happened faster than normal, but he was still new to his wolf form, still learning how to control Apollo's instincts and power.

"We need to get them to safety," Fin said, already moving toward the door. "The underground bunker would be most defensible."

Brent shook his head. "Too easy to get trapped. We need mobility."

"I agree," Kane said, his tactical mind working through options. "We should move them to the secondary property in the mountains. Difficult terrain, limited approaches, easier to defend with our numbers."

Through our bond, I felt Apollo's and Lucious's determination building. He wasn't going to run, wasn't going to hide from the people who had stolen seventeen years of his life. Diamond echoed his resolve, her silver energy pulsing in harmony with his golden light.

I shifted back to human form, the transformation smoother now with practice. "We're not running," I declared, accepting the robe Liam offered me. "Not this time."

Apollo watched me for a moment before following suit. Lucious's transformation back to human was less graceful than mine, his body shuddering as it remembered its original shape. Kane caught him as he stumbled, helping him into the clothes Brent had ready.

"We can't stay and fight," Fin argued, concern evident in his voice. "Not with your safety at stake."

"This isn't about fighting," I countered, feeling Diamond's certainty flowing through me. "It's about ending this, permanently."

Lucious straightened beside me, his eyes still glowing faintly amber in the dim light. "My sister is right. They won't stop coming unless we stop them."

"How?" Alpha Maxwell asked, his expression grave. "Even without Helena, they are a big threat to both of you.”

I began to smirk at his words, “Alpha, you're forgetting one very important detail. I am the most powerful Blackthorne Heir born in 300 years, and now the Diamond and Apollo are together at last. My powers have grown further. They think that they still have time. Let's show them that they're already too late.”

I continued, “The leaders of one faction lost their wolves at my coming of age or at very least most of them, then the asshats that raised me, then Helena. I think it's now really time for the North Alliance to remember why the Blackthornes were feared for their connection to the Goddess.”

Alpha Maxwell's eyes widened at my declaration, a mixture of concern and admiration crossing his weathered face. "What exactly are you proposing, Luna Blackthorne-Maxwell?"

I felt Diamond's power surging within me, stronger than ever before with Apollo's presence nearby. The connection between our wolves was amplifying both our abilities, just as the ancient texts had suggested might happen when Blackthorne siblings united their powers.

"I'm proposing we meet them head-on," I said, my voice steady with newfound conviction. "Not with violence, but with truth. With the goddess's judgment."

Lucious stepped forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with me. The marks on his chest, now transformed into the sunburst pattern, seemed to pulse with golden light as Apollo settled more comfortably within him.

"The Northern Alliance has built their power on lies and corruption," he said, his voice stronger than I'd heard it before. "Their wolves have forgotten the true path, the true connection to the goddess."

"You're suggesting..." Kane began, his tactical mind quickly grasping my intention.

"Yes," I confirmed. "I'm going to do what I did with Helena and the others. But on a larger scale."

The Priestess moved closer, her ancient eyes alight with understanding. "The cleansing ritual. Not just for one or two corrupted wolves, but for many at once."

"Is that even possible?" Brent asked, concern evident in his voice.
