Chapter 65: It Was Like A Dream
I
It was like a dream that Gerthel would not want to wake up anymore. As her feet touched the ground of their once mini-farm her tears continued to flow. She looked around and was completely surprised to see the changes therein. The farmers’ former hovels are now rows of cute mini bungalow houses and her and her mother’s former house has been renovated into a modern house, although with still a touch of its former native type of house. Their plantation had more fruit-bearing trees, vegetables, and root crops and of course, their rice field was showing the blessing that farmers mostly needed. It was almost its harvesting time.
“How could … I mean, who did all of these, Boss Dar?” stammering she asked the man beside her, whose right arm was already wrapped around her shoulders.
“Are you surprised?” he replied instead of answering her question.
“Completely. I thought and I have been always thinking and felt guilty that our land and our farmers are now in deep hunger because no one lead them and took good care of them anymore. I left them, to save myself. It was so selfish of me,” she said with tears still rolling down her cheeks. She looked up at him and without any inhibition, clung her arms around his neck and kissed him.
It was a kiss that has been welcomed with pure care and tenderness by Boss Dar. He could not explain what happened to him in the past months, but all he could think of was to make this woman in his arms to be happy.
As they finished their kissing, they heard clappings around and when Gerthel looked around, her happiness overflows seeing their farmers with happy faces, including children. They seemed to have not been being starved then. They were healthy, alive, and happily looking at her, with their welcoming smiles.
She waved her hands at them, with a smile on her face although there were still tears trickling down her cheeks. She was happy for their farmers, although sadness was still in her heart as she remembered about the family of her best friend, Karla.
She was further surprised when she saw the long table with abundant food over it. It was like, they were going to have a feast.
“Welcome back to your land, Senyorita Gerthel. We are happy to know that you are still alive.” It was their eldest farmer, Simon who greeted her after bowing his head with respect to her.
“Simon, thank you. I am happy too, to know that you are all fine. Although, I am sad deep inside too because Karla and her parents are not here anymore,” she replied in a soft voice while looking at everyone around her.
Simon nodded and with sadness too, stated, “We learned about their deaths and we even found some part of their bodies in the woods. We buried them in our cemetery land.”
“You buried their bodies?” surprised, Gerthel exclaimed. Her eyes suddenly glowed with longing. “Can you please bring me to their resting place?”
Simon and the rest of the farmers nodded and walked ahead to their cemetery land. Gerthel and Boss Dar, followed them.
Gerthel, could not help to cry once more when she saw the graves of Karla and her parents. She whispered a prayer for their souls and asked a boy nearby to go get her flowers for Karla and her parents.
The boy nodded and together with a few youngsters, they run toward their garden and came back with different flowers in their hands.
“Thank you, young men,” Gerthel said smiling as she got the flowers and then put them on the graves of Karla and her parents.
“We learned that they were killed by the group of the Blue Wave Pack, whose Alpha now is Leeno Treeton. Good thing you were able to escape, Senyorita Gerthel,” Simon said in a sad tone.
“I was able to shift into my wolf form, Simon, and ran fast until they can no longer catch up with me. I found myself in the human city but was being caught by human traffickers and sold to a man, who happened to be Boss Dar’s, right-hand man. I was sold to Boss Dar, which was my luck,” Gerthel answered Simon with a smile now, and then she glanced at Boss Dar with that love in her eyes that she could not anymore deny.

After that visit to the graves of Karla and her parents, they feasted on the food served on the long table just outside of their once-native house. Gerthel could not help to be truly overwhelmed.
“Boss Dar, can I stay here for a while?” she asked with her eyes begging at him.
“I cannot just leave you here alone, Gerthel. I will agree to your request if you will agree too that I would put at least ten guards over here to protect you.”
Gerthel smiled and nodded. “Just for a week. I just wanted to feel my home and be with these people again. I know they can now stand on their own, and they do not need me to supervise them, but I just want to be with them for a while and let me enjoy this new home and this new farm, which I know you took all the time, effort and money to make it look like this now.”
Boss Dar cupped her chin and looked at her with tenderness in his eyes. “Then, we have a deal, my Darling. You will stay here for a week, but of course, I will be coming to visit you anytime, alright?”
“Absolutely, fine with me. I will always be excited to wait for your visit,” she said while smiling sheepishly. She is still ashamed to completely show her love to him, especially around the farmers and their children.
“But tonight, we will both stay here first until my ten men who will be posted as guards here arrives,” he murmured to him, and then he gave her a naughty wink. Gerthel’s cheeks turned cherry red as she understood what was in his mind. Excitement grew within her core too as she felt the heat while remembering how Boss Dar made love to her in the past days.
