Chapter 56: Sorry

Natalie was walking through the hallway of her mansion when her maid suddenly came in front of her, so she stopped walking.

“Good morning, madame. Mr. Norwan is in front of our gate today. He’s asking to see you.” The maid said, so she frowned and looked at her gate. She didn’t see Norwan there because it was a big gate. She looks back to her maid and sighs before she nods in answer, and she continues to walk to her dining area. She is about to eat her breakfast and is about to see the man she hired last time to find some information about Cora, but Norwan comes, so she cancels it.

She grabbed her phone and started to send a message to that man, and then she started to put some food on her plate.

“Good morning.” She looked at the voice which spoke, Norwan. And he’s holding a bouquet of red roses. That’s why Natalie frowned while looking at Norwan.

“What with your red roses?” She asked, so Norwan smiled at her and went near to her.

“Nothing, I just came here to give this to you and to apologize for what I said yesterday.” He said, so Natalie smiled.

“Those things, aren’t you doing this to me when I was still your Luna? It’s a big miracle that you would give me things like this.” Natalie commented before she accepted the flower. Norwan scratches his head while smiling awkwardly at Natalie. He knows what Natalie meant by her words.

“Come, join me with my breakfast.” She said so. Norwan sat beside her, and Natalie put the roses on the other available seat before she looked back to Norwan again.

“Things getting weird to you. You don’t have to spend some money on that flower, just like you said last time, ‘you can’t bring my money back.’” Natalie said, so Norwan smiled forcefully and sighed while he was looking at her.

“I know, and I already regret doing this like that.” He said, so Natalie chuckles.

“Well, you always do.” She commented and started to eat her food. “How about Cora? Does she know that you’re with me?” She asked, so Norwan shook his head, which made Natalie frown and chuckle.

“Silly you, you’re doing things again that you know will hurt your partner’s feelings. Are you that really insensitive?” Natalie asked, so Norwan shook his head.

“But she wouldn’t know,” Norwan said, so Natalie stopped and looked at him unbelievably.

“She wouldn’t know what?” Natalie asks and chuckles as if Norwan is a big joke. “Damn, Norwan, you still don’t get the reason why I left you, huh? And now you’re doing things like this to Cora.” Natalie added. “Don’t tell me you have plans to make me as your mistress, come on, just leave me alone.” She said, so Norwan sighed.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean that thing.” He cleared. “What I mean is that, she didn’t know that I’m seeing you and I don’t want to make her know.” He said.

“For what?” Natalie asks and narrows her eyes on him. “You’re cheating with her using me.” She chuckles. “I don’t have time for that bullshit.” She added.

“Look, it’s not that what you’re thinking, Natalie. Yes she’s my fiance but I don’t want her to know things like this that I kept seeing you even if she forbids me because I don’t want to hurt her feeling.” A loud laugh came from Natalie after hearing his words.

“Then stop seeing me.” She said, which caused Norwan to stop.

“If you don’t want to hurt her then stop seeing me, Norwan. At first we both know that what’s between us is nothing but a dealing with some issues about us, and it’s already been cleared.” Natalie said with her serious voice.

“I told you I don’t want to have any connections from you. That’s why I terminated our business partners so I can go far away from you, but you’re the one who keeps on seeing me and doing things to make me close to you. What’s wrong with you?” She asked, annoyed. Her ego won’t let her swallow the pride after hearing Norwan’s words. It seems like he’s playing with her and Cora.

“Natalie..”

“Norwan, if you keep on doing this then you will probably hurt Cora. After all I already give you to her since I know from the very first start that you love her and not me.” There’s a bitterness in her words after saying those words to Norwan.

“Damn it, I just can’t stay away from you, Natalie,” Norwan said, which made Natalie stop and look at her.

She knows where this thing will end.

“I tried to forget you but damn it, I think your last words with me when we terminated our mateship is now happening. It’s like a curse to me, Natalie,” Norwan said, and Natalie remembered what she said to Norwan before leaving him.

“After this, you’re no longer welcome to my life again, and I swear in front of the Moon Goddess Altar that you will chase me one day… and if that happens, I will just laugh at you like you did to me back then,”

Natalie laughed at him, just like she said to Norwan back then.

“I… I love you.” Norwan said, so Natalie laughed even more, but those laughs were forced.

“Damn it, look at you now, Norwan, you really did chase me,” Natalie said, looking into his eyes.

“But just like what I said to you back then, you’re no longer welcome to my life again.” She said so. Norwan just smiled at her; he knew she would say those words to him.

“I know,” he said, so Natalie’s smile suddenly faded. “But it doesn’t mean I will stop what I felt for you.” He added, so Natalie became severe.

Is he even serious about what he’s saying? Damn him! After what happened between us, will he suddenly confess his feelings to me? Did he think I would do the same and give the same feelings to him? No way.

“I hope you did that when I was still your Luna, Norwan.” Natalie said before she decided to leave Norwan in her dining area.
