Chapter 20: The Beast Resurfaces

MORANA

Olcan's words awakened a wild part within me, desiring only to let them continue and do as they wished with me.

"I..." I took a deep breath, trying to control my instincts. "I need some air," I said, trying to find a way to escape.

Olcan nodded before looking at Lowell. They exchanged glances for a few seconds, as if planning something, then suddenly, he grabbed my hand and started pulling me towards the exit.

I was forced to follow him, aware that Lowell was right behind me. However, when we reached the sidewalk outside the bar, Olcan didn't stop; he kept walking, making me follow him down the empty street.

I breathed in deeply, the cool night air somewhat clearing the confusion in my mind.

*What were they planning?*

"Wait... where are we going?" I asked, turning to face Lowell when I got no response from Olcan, who seemed focused on the path.

However, I didn't get any response from him either. Where were they taking me? Could it be...

*"We agreed to share you." "Think you can handle both of us?"*

Damn. I swallowed hard, recalling their words. They couldn't be serious. I hadn't agreed to this. Well, actually, I hadn't said no.

Maybe they had misunderstood. Nervousness overwhelmed me as our steps echoed on the stone sidewalk. This was all my fault for getting carried away by their game.

The way I was trapped... as if I was hypnotized. They managed to turn me on without me even realizing it. First Lyall, and now this. Dealing with them was going to be much harder than I thought.

Suddenly, Olcan turned left into a narrow street, which grew darker as we moved away from the small lantern by the entrance.

Stopping further down, in a part where the lighting couldn't reach us, he pushed me against a stone wall, taking a position to my left.

Lowell stopped beside him, making me feel cornered. They were too close, making it hard for me to breathe properly.

"What are you doing?" My voice wavered slightly.

I could smell their arousal growing stronger by the second, provoking my instincts. I knew I had to escape, but that wasn't what my wild side wanted.

Lowell took another step closer, making me apprehensive.

"Relax," he whispered, leaning towards my neck.

I closed my eyes, breathing with difficulty. His scent and warmth overwhelmed me, making my body tremble, and I involuntarily tilted my head to the side, giving him more access.

I couldn't. I tried to find the words to make him stop, but I couldn't find them. And when I felt his nose brush against my neck, sending a shiver down my skin, I knew I was lost.

I felt huge hands land on my hip, turning my body and making me open my eyes to meet a dark gaze. Olcan. It was his hands on my hip.

I was caught in his gaze, feeling Lowell move, positioning himself behind me. I couldn't breathe properly. Their energy was so strong it seemed to envelop me more with each second, like a force, dragging me deeper, and although I wanted to, I couldn't escape.

"Back off now," a deep, animalistic voice suddenly sounded, and I also noticed it seemed somewhat familiar, as I was snapped out of the trance.

Olcan immediately turned towards the sound, using his body as a barrier to protect me. Lowell did the same, stepping out from behind me and positioning himself beside him.

Behind them, I focused my vision in the darkness ahead, trying to see who it was. And when my vision adjusted, finding the huge silhouette, I couldn't believe it.

*Volk? What was he doing here?*

Moving through the shadows, he took a few more steps closer, and I could finally see the unmistakable white hair and amber eyes that glowed in the dark, like two sparks.

"I won't repeat," he growled threateningly, making me shiver.

He looked exactly like that night, as if he was losing control. This was bad.

"It's you who needs to back off," Olcan retorted, making it clear he was ready for a confrontation.

"You shouldn't be here, Volk," Lowell added.

I could feel the tension charging the air, making my skin tingle and my heart race in anticipation of what I feared would come next. The situation was getting out of control too quickly.

"Tell them," Volk ordered, and I knew he was speaking to me. "You know what will happen if you don't," he warned.

He wanted me to send them away. And he was right about me knowing what could happen if I didn't comply. I had seen enough of him to know he was about to lose control.

After seeing how he dealt with that male the night he saved me, I wasn't sure if even Olcan and Lowell together could handle him. I also didn't want either of them to get hurt.

I needed to do something before it was too late.

"It's okay. It's better if both of you go," I said, making my decision.

"No," Lowell denied, extending an arm in front of my body to prevent me from moving.

"Your last chance," Volk growled.

"Please, go. He won't hurt me," I tried to reassure them.

"We're not going anywhere," Olcan asserted, standing firm in front of me.

"I already told you I'll be fine. This isn't necessary. I don't want anyone to get hurt."

"You shouldn't worry, not about us," he said arrogantly.

Suddenly, Volk took another step forward, capturing my attention and sending me into a panic.

"No! Stay there! They're already leaving," I said loudly enough to make him stop. "He saved me once, that's why he's acting this way," I explained, trying to convince them. "He won't hurt me; he just needs to calm down."

"That doesn't give him any right over you," Olcan declared.

Volk growled again, as a warning, appearing more and more furious.

"You have to go, now," I insisted.

"We're not leaving here without you," Lowell declared.

"The choice is mine," I said, before moving past them, but he moved quickly enough to block my path with his body. "Let me pass," I demanded, staring at his nape.

"You don't have to do this. We can take you with us," he insisted.

"You can wait for me at the bar, or if you prefer, you can go back home. I can come back alone later. This won't take long. But now I want you to leave," I instructed firmly.

"Are you sure?" Olcan asked reluctantly, offering me a cautious look.

"Yes," I assured, before passing by Lowell.

I focused my attention on Volk, who stood further ahead in the darkness.

"We'll be at the bar," Lowell informed me from behind.

"Okay. Now go," I said as I approached, feeling my heart beat faster with each step.

I continued advancing slowly, matching the pace at which I heard their steps fade behind me, as they walked away, and I stopped when they finally disappeared completely, just over a meter away from Volk.

I swallowed hard, noticing the way he stared at me as if I were his prey, stirring something within me. I hated that feeling, and hated how his presence was enough to keep my entire body on alert.

He remained silent as I tried to decide what to do next, losing the rhythm of my breathing. But suddenly, he moved, advancing towards me without giving me time to act.

I instinctively stepped back, taking a single step before he reached me.

With a swift movement, he wrapped an arm around me and turned my body, pressing my back against his chest and pinning me against the wall the next second.
