Chapter 132: Nasty Thoughts
Dawn’s Point of View
It’s been days since that incident, it’s been about three days since the kiss.
I had laid in bed, thinking about the kiss, every morning I wake up to brush my teeth, I see it in the mirror.
Two things…
First, it was because I let him kiss me; even though I knew clearly that he didn’t love me, and he only did that because he needed distraction with Morgana.
And I was there… the perfect distraction.
Should I have continued the kiss? Perhaps I would, if it was the ‘me’ of some months before now.
I would have fawned over the idea of kissing Jasper, the boy I was in love with.
Second thing…
It was Logan.
He keeps popping up in my head, anytime I remember the kiss, the thought of him just keeps recurring in my head.
And then it feels like I’m cheating on him.
And at the same time, Logan and I have not spoken to each other in that three days too. Ever since he let me out of the car to go see Jasper, I guess that seemed to take a toll on his ego, and he just withdrew completely.
It has made living awkward, and there were times I wanted to genuinely talk to him but he just doesn’t let me.
I feel bad.
And with the kiss I feel even worse.
And I don’t know why I’m thinking about this today, today is the day our parents get married officially.
And I’m here struggling with my conflicting emotions, Logan and I traveled on Friday.
He said nothing to me throughout the whole ride, we rode alone.
I was on my phone most of the time, while he just slept…or was rather pretending to sleep because he didn’t want to see me.
I was curled on the bed in the hotel room, just looking at the ceiling. Then my heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I heard a sudden but firm knock.
Probably room service.
I got off the bed in nothing but the sleepwear I was wearing, and the moment I opened the door, my eyes met the cold blue eyes.
Cold enough to freeze even fire. It wasn’t room service…
It was….
Logan.
His eyes stopped at my face and then they trailed down to my body and I wrapped my arms around myself almost immediately.
He didn’t look away, not that I expected him too because he wasn’t a gentleman.
In fact, he pushed the door opened even further, and strutted in.
And compared to me, he was completely dressed in his back tuxedo, his jet black hair was combed sleek back.
And the intensity of his gaze cut through me, his jaw was sharp enough to slice glass.
He looked even ten times more handsome like this, my mouth dried up almost immediately.
My heart thudded gently against my ribcage. And my eyes darted away from him quickly because I think he noticed that I was checking him out.
“What exactly are you trying to hide?” he asked curiously as he closed the door. “I came here to check if you were done dressing but I assume you haven’t had your bath?”
A small blush reached my cheeks, and I bit down on my lips.
No…
Dawn you can’t do this.
Logan here is your Stepbrother and this isn’t right.
These unlawful feelings in my chest…shouldn’t be there.
“I didn’t say you could come in…” I yelled at him, his eyes rested on mine, before they flickered down to my chest. “I’m not probably clad.”
A small taunting smirk reached his lips.
“I have seen you naked before.” He announced proudly, folding his arms across his chest.
And I scoffed.
Like I needed to hear it.
Fucking hell, I turned on my heels.
“Do you have any idea how late we will be?” He glanced at his wristwatch as I wrapped myself around the towel.
I didn’t even realize just how long I had been laying in bed without doing anything.
It was almost ten o’clock.
At this rate, we might miss the start of the ceremony.
“You can just wear your clothes, you don’t need to take your bathe.” He teased but I ignored him, shoving my toothbrush in my mouth before dashing into the bathroom.
Honestly when I came out I thought Logan would have left, but he was still there.
I’m a little grateful that I listened to the small voice in my head that told me to dress up in the bathroom.
“Fuck… what is the time?” I asked curiously.
“Almost 11.”
My eyes widened.
“Really?!” I yelled. “Did I take that long to shower?”
He laughed, a soft laugh that rumbled out of him and for a minute I felt my heart flatter.
No…
This cannot be happening.
“I’m just joking, it’s only 10:15, if you hurry up, we might get there just in time for the vows.” He got up from the bed, and began to walk towards me. My feet freeze in one place, the noise in my chest louder than ever.
It was louder than when I met Felix.
My apparent first love.
Louder than when I met with Jasper.
My second love.
I clutched my chest… fucking hell, this isn’t what I planned for.
There must be a mistake somewhere.
“W-Why…” the broken words slipped out of me, and Logan’s eyebrows tugged up, clearly confused by my incoherent speech. “… are you c-coming close to me?”
He stopped only when he was only some few inches away from me: he leaned down, and I held my breath.
My eyes flickered down to his lips, I know what I had said earlier.
That it couldn’t be.
We are stepsiblings and it’s wrong, but why does it feel so right.
Why do I ache to have him hold me again?
Why do I want it… more than I have ever wanted anything…
My eyes fell towards his lips, and the moment they tugged up into a smirk, my eyes flickered back up to his gaze.
“You have something stuck on your hair.” He murmured, as he pulled whatever it was from my hair.
He stepped back, and then air rushed into my lungs.
Fucking this man.
Heat rose in my cheeks, and I turned away from him, trying to hide the blush that had crept on my face.
My eyes met Logan’s dark gaze from the mirror. And that was when I realized that he already found me out.
“You look like you don’t want to go to this wedding.” He murmured darkly.
“What are you talking about?” I laughed hysterically.
“You look like you want me to bend you over that table and fill you up until you’re unable to think.”
I swallowed hard, the nasty thoughts rushing back into my head.
