Chapter 51 Board Room Showdown 1
Chapter 51 Board Room Showdown 1
“How dare she!"
Olivia screamed pushing down her vanity table.
She had eye bags under her red swollen eyes. Her disheveled hair and puffy face gave off an insane impression.
She screamed in with rage too strong for her already weak voice.
As much as she hated to admit, she didn't want to show her face in school the next day.
The school's blug was in flames even if no a single student recorded a video—cameras were banned after the leaked video of her bullying Akira surfaced.
She slumped on the floor and let the tears flow.
As the daughter of a billionaire, she'd never been a target her entire life, and it made her haughty and arrogant. She stepped on those who were beneath her, but being bullied by Akira today, did not feel nice at all.
And she was a lowlife. The thought alone feel her with the urge to kill.
“What's this Olivia?"
The door swung open and her father snapped at her.
She didn't know why it hurt so much. Her mom always comforted her if she noticed the slightest discomfort from her.
“Get up now!"
She sniffed, tearing up more.
“You're not going to ask what's wrong?" She asked, trying to control the sobs threatening to burst out.
“I don't care Olivia," her father snapped.
She recoiled at her father's harsh tone. What was happening today? She wasn't used to anyone shout at her, not even her dad.
“Look her," he held her shoulders, his grip a little too hard.
“You are you mother's next of kin, and tommorow, you're gonna accompany me to a board meeting to claim what belongs to you. Now go clean up and act like the heiress you are."
An idea clicked in her mind at her father's words and she immediately calmed down.
“I'm.. I'm a heiress?" She stuttered. Excited.
“Yes you are!" Her father exclaimed, glad that his plans were working.
“Now go freshen up and get some rest, you have a big day tomorrow." He squeezed her shoulder one last time before leaving her room.
“I'm going to be worth billions," she squealed, the sound like someone suffering from a flu.
“I'm going to deal with you, Akira." She smiled. She loved the idea of power and once again, she was grateful to her dad for kicking out her mom.
THE NEXT DAY
“Everything is set ma'am," a lady bodyguard in camouflage and a serious expression alerted Mrs Grayson.
“I'll be out in a jiffy, Halsey, she smiled and nodded. The lady bowed and walked out of the study.
Mrs Grayson turned and stroked Isabella's hair as she assisted her with her cufflinks.
“Told you it'll take time," she whined like a six years old deprived of candy.
“Today's a big day mom, you need to look your best," Isabella said with a playful eye roll.
Mrs Grayson chuckled and softly pinched her cheeks still not used to being called “mom" by her long lost daughter.
“Let's do this shall we?" She smiled and adjusted Isabella's face mask, it wasn't very safe for her to be seen by the public, yet. Only the people in the boardroom would be seeing her face today.
Mother and daughter headed out to the waiting limousine. The day had just begun, and it was going to be very interesting.
GRAYSON CORP
It was very tensed in the boardroom of Grayson's Corp. Maria, and Olivia were seated on each side of Mr Grayson.
“We refused to support this nonsense, Grayson." Benedict Hanson, one of the pioneers of Grayson's Corp spoke after a long stretch of pin drop silence.
“First things first," Mr Grayson scoffed, you'll address me as Mr Grayson. Put some respect on my name. Secondly, Olivia is not a stranger, but the daughter of the founder, why can't you handover the damn company to her?" Grayson snapped, already pushed to his limits.
“Enough!" Mrs O'Brien hit her cain on the floor. She was the second highest shareholder and investor of the company, coming from money herself, she had dedicated her time and resources to the growth of the company, believing in Eleanor when no one else did. As a prominent figure, in and outside the company, her words were power.
“First you screw your wife's maid," she frowned and stared pointedly at Maria through the rim of her glasses. “Next you kick her out of her own property, and now you try to take away her chair from the company she built from scratch? Tell me Kane, do you think are such big fools?"
“How..."
Mr Grayson stuttered, not expecting her to use that name. His real name.
“But Olivia's the heir, and your so called CEO has been missing for a while now, please understand I'm doing this only for the good of the company," Grayson frowned, pissed that she could see through his intentions.
The door swung open before anyone could say more and Mrs Grayson's assistant who was fired by Mr Grayson walked in with a pile of files.
“What are you doing here?" Mr Grayson snapped. “I fired you and the instruction was never to show up here, leave now before I take legal actions.
Mr Grayson completely hated the assistant—she was one of the uncooperative people who made him frustrated when he first took over. And she also refused to let him taste her.
“I'm just doing my job as the CEO's assistant," the assistant responded and began distributing the files.
“Good day and thank you all for honouring my boss's invitation, she'll be here shortly," the assistant smiled politely earning a nod of approval from the shareholders.
“Hold up," Mr Grayson scoffed. “I'm the boss, I run things here, and I called for this meeting, why give my praise to some dumb woman who abandoned her company."
Grayson had lived his entire life in his wife's shadow. Pretending that all the praises, and recognitions given to his wife did not get to him. He likes to think as the man, the head of the home, he should be the one in the spotlight, and when the opportunity to get rid of Eleanor presented itself, he took it with open arms.
“Do you think you have the power to summon us to a meeting, with you? A shareholder, a man in his mid thirties, laughed.
At a young age he'd learned to value honest work and deeply despised dishonesty and entitlement for others belongings. And Mr Grayson was a human representation of the latter.
“As the heiress of this company and the incoming CEO, I forbid you from disrespecting my father," Olivia snapped, eyeing the man like he were a nobody.
“Let me handle the Livvy," he placed a hand on her shoulder. He didn't want her saying anything thing, he brought her to be seen and not heard.
“If you all are not here to honour my invitation, who are you here for?" Grayson smirked, feeling very smug.
“Me. I sent for them."
The trio froze at the sound of that familiar voice.
