Chapter 83: The Potion
THIRD PERSON
Nathalia sneaked through the corridors, moving like a silent but deadly serpent. Her steps were slow and deliberate, devoid of noise as she approached the highest floor of Crimson A's headquarters. Her eyes reflected the explosion meters away from them, a huge smirk forming on her face.
Her hand gripped the sword lightly, playing with it like a toy as she twirled it in the air. She moved with ease, as if the whole district around her wasn't covered with chaos. She was in her own world—and in her world, she reigned.
Reaching the only door at the north wing, her wolf senses heightened, detecting a person inside. She slowly approached the door, pushing it with slow movements. It made a screeching sound, making the man inside stiffened on his position.
"What an awful place," Nathalia muttered, her eyes wandering around the office. She clicked her tongue, leaning on the doorway as she stared back at the man holding a box filled with jewels.
A chuckle escaped from her lips. "People are already dying and you still have the time to gather those things?" she raised her brow. "If you die right here, you wouldn't be able to bring those things in the afterlife."
"Who the fuck are you?" the man hugged the treasure box tighter, refusing to let go. He looked at the woman from head to toe, a mocking smile formed on his face. "Looks like I got a fresh product."
Nathalis seemed unaffected. Instead, she swung her sword, not enough to hit him but enough to make him back off. Her movements looked dull and weak, and the man couldn't help but to laugh at her actions.
"That's it? You're yielding a huge sword yet you can't even use it right," he stepped forward, placing the treasure box down as he grinned. "I have a sword that can make you scream. Better and harder. Want to try it princess?"
Nathalia scoffed, disgusted by the man's words. "No thanks. I like my sword better," she responded, pointing the tip at the man's chest, before moving it down to his crotch. "Your sword is already rusty. Used. I doubt it is big enough to make me scream."
"You have a filthy mouth," the man's face scrunched, his feet heavy as he approached like a predator. "I'll make sure to fill that to shut you up."
He stepped forward, his hands aching to snatch the woman and bring her down to the den. But what he didn't expect next was the single swing of a sword that ended his masculinity.
An erupting scream filled the whole office as Nathalia sliced his sword on the man's crotch. It was deep enough to cut through his manhood, but shallow enough to make severe damage. Blood dripped down the floor as the man howled in pain, clutching his middle part while trying not to fall to the ground.
"Maybe that will shut you up," Nathalia stepped on the kneeling man's back, pushing him down to the ground. The pointed end of her heels made a mark on his skin, threatening to go deeper.
She tilted her head as another eruption shook the district. She could hear the people's screams, the women's shouts for others to escape, and the men's groans of pain as they burned inside those filthy buildings.
"I will only ask you once, and you have to answer me if you want me to spare you," Nathalia pushed her feet lower, as the tip of her sword stood at the man's nape. "Tell me where the potion is."
The man shook his head. "I don't know anything about that!" he shouted, trying to break free from kneeling, yet his body couldn't push the gravity of Nathalia's body upward. "I don't know any potion!"
"We can do this the hard way if you want," she continued, pushing her sword deeper. A cut was made on the man's nape, sending him growling in pain. Something in the sword made him unable to shift, and that was the only time he realized the weight of his situation.
"The potion, Marcus," Nathalia repeated. "The one those wizards made for the Alpha King. He hid it in this district and you know everything about it."
The man gritted his teeth. "Who the hell are you? How dare you steal something owned by the Alpha King?" he exclaimed, his arm shooting out to grab her.
Nathalia only swung her sword, cutting his limbs at once. "Just tell me where it is and you will live," she ignored his scream of pain. "I will make sure the Alpha King doesn't know that you told me about it. I can even help you escape his grasps. How does that sound?"
The man wouldn't answer—or he couldn't. He started cussing the woman, whose patient was already wearing thin.
"You're Alpha King can't save you now," Nathalia whispered. "You know that you don't have any choice. Either tell me where the potion is and you will live, or you will die here and I'll look for the potion myself," she smiled. "The choice is yours."
Another eruption shook the air, and this time, it was much nearer to their position. The man looked down, his reflection shone beneath him—ruined body and cut limbs. Without any help, he would die very soon.
He put his head down. "The King got it a month ago," he muttered, his voice weak. "The potion is not here anymore. It's in the palace."
Nathalia stared at the man for a moment, before a large smile formed on her face. She stepped away from him, removing every threat pointed to his body. "You wouldn't have lost your arms if you just told me earlier," she patted his head. "You can go now, good boy."
The man scrambled on his feet, trying to escape as soon as he could. Blood dripped from his body as he ran with desperation, but before he could even go far, a sword flew to his direction, stabbing the back of his head.
"Oops," Nathalia's hand flew to her lips with a smile. "My hand slipped.”
