CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

BLANC'S POV

I sat there surprised, Lucas had betrayed me by telling Denise that I want the Gem.

"It's not what you think Denise," I said trying to explain but Denise shook her head, not wanting to hear an explanation from me.

I turned and gave Lucas a deadly stare which he ignored. "The thing is that.." I was interrupted by Denise. She bent down and placed her index finger on my lips.

"Shh," she whispered with a smile. I arched my eyebrows confused at the change of the situation. She wasn't meant to be smiling at me after figuring out that I wanted to take the Gem to the Vampire's realm.

"Do not speak again, we will fight together" She said. I was too confused to talk. I just sat down there paralyzed. "What is this turning into?" I asked myself.

"We can defeat Dracula, and destroy the Gem," She said, what did Lucas feed this innocent child with, huh?

"Denise, what are you talking about now?" I asked confusion and anxiousness were getting more concentrated in my veins.

She use both of her hands to cup my face, with a smile that was very appealing to the eyes, "Lucas told me everything, slavery is the worst thing that can happen to a person," she said, still smiling. I couldn't hide my confusion any longer, so I turned to Lucas and asked, "What did you tell her?"

Lucas stood up, and went towards the door, "I'll leave you two to talk things out" He said while reaching for the door knob. In less than a second, Lucas was out of my sight and I was left with Denise alone.

Denise sat down where Lucas had sat earlier, she was wearing a smile which she had refused to replace with a frown.

"What did Lucas tell you?" I asked without wasting much time.

"Well, without mincing words, I'll quickly summarize what he told me," Denise said, playing with her fingernails which were very long and wolf-like.

"He said, you have been a slave since you were a child and your mother is still sick due to the fact that Dracula, your master, sent you to Earth to find a wife for him," She said, using her dainty fingers to draw circles on my hand.

I heaved a sigh of relief, for a moment my heart skipped thinking Lucas had told her everything about me and my connections with the Gem.

"I'm not done with my story," She said, bringing fear back inside me.

"He told you more?" I asked and she nodded in approval. I might skin Lucas alive when I see him, he lied that I was a slave.

To think of it, I am kind of a slave. An indirect slave to Dracula I guess. Although I do not call him master.

"He said that your master wanted the Gem but you declined, and you were here trying to hide the Gem from his possession," she said.

Her last confession about what Lucas told her was a big lie which I do not want to involve myself in, but it seems like I was forced into the lie and had no idea what to do.

"Don't worry, everything will be alright and your mum's health will be restored" She said, with a wide smile that melted my heart.

She quickly gave me a kiss on my chin and left me in the room.

My face grew red due to the kiss. I rubbed my chin to let it go all to no avail.

Well, I'm still going to search for Lucas, his head will be served in a golden plate, for dragging me inside a lie.

"Lucas" I yelled leaving the room.

DENISE'S POV

I was surprised when Lucas called me to ask for the Gem when I was still in Audrey's house, the question was weird although I told him that the Gem was with me.

He told me to come home, that it was very urgent. Without thinking, I ran home only to find that so-called Dracula. He was scattering the room for what I do not know.

I wanted to slap him, tell him and order him out of my house but Lucas held me back, he told me Dracula wasn't going to take anything except what he was looking for which was the Gem.

I watched as Dracula left my room without taking anything truly, it was then my brain clicked, he was actually looking for the Gem.

Lucas explained all about Blanc to me, he also told me how Dracula had possessed his mother so that Blanc could bring a human as a wife for him.

I guess he had found my mum, although their relationship isn't going to last. I left the room with Blanc inside and headed to receive some fresh air.

I sat down on the floor outside and closed my eyes as I felt the cool breeze brushing my face softly. A smile crept to the corners of my lips.

I lay on the floor while watching Tik Tok videos, my mind did a flashback on the incident that occurred in Lionel's house, and I tried to shake it off, besides since he had treated me like a nobody, he looks like nobody to me.

Feeling tired of Lying on my back, I stood up and made steady steps toward the building that faced our house. No one lived inside so sometimes I like to go there to clear my head.

I plugged my phone in and danced to the rhythm of Shape of You by Ed Sheeran. I swayed to the beat and rhythm of the song.

Just at that moment, my phone beeped, I checked to see who the message was from. I hissed after seeing the sender of that message. It was Lionel, I was sure it was an apology message. I don't plan to forgive him.

Getting to the building, I could hear familiar voices, it was both masculine and feminine voice. It seemed the conversation was in the form of a quarrel although a controlled quarrel.

I went closer to the building and I heard Mum's voice scream, "I know she's a wolf, she's my daughter as well"

I was shocked, maybe it wasn't my mother. With haste, I pushed the door open which revealed my mum and Dracula.

How does my mum know that I'm a werewolf?
