Chapter 95: The Dragon Prince and His Mate

After I abruptly woke up scaring everyone half to death. It was now night time everyone has left for the night except Dexter he sat in the chair next to the bed his head rested back he was asleep. By the looks of him he hasn't gotten much rest lately,

He told me about his dragon being dormant even though he can feel his still there he can't seem to pull him forward, I had already knew about that my mother had explained to me how Dexter's dragon needed to be awaken and how I was to do that.

She told me that when he bit me he took in some of my blood which caused his dragon to go into a dormant state he was preparing himself for the changes, but to be able to change completely I would need to mark Dexter, I had told him this he didn't look to thrilled about doing another marking but I told him we didn't need a full moon and we didn't need to be out side or have anyone near by it's something we can do in the privacy of our room,

I was so happy to see Laura she look so good standing there I was shocked to know she had healed completely, I was grateful that Dr Martin stay true to his promise about giving Laura my blood after what Elder Fran and myself learnt I wasn't waiting I went straight to Dr Martin, He was alittle hesitant at first afraid Dexter would have his head but he eventually gave in.

Seeing Charles and Laura together made my heart happy I didn't have a loving family growing up but they have except me as their daughter and I couldn't be happier about that, Charles even let out a protective grow when Hank came busting through trying to give me a hug.

Hank just backed away head down which caused all of us to bust out laughing,

Now it's just me and Dexter here now I couldn't stop staring at him, I missed him more then I realized. I also could believe how much my belly has grown while I was asleep but I guess when your mated to a freakishly large person your gonna be larger then normal while pregnant.

He must have sense me looking at him cause he suddenly spoke.

"I can feel you watching me love,"

He opens one eye turning his head to look at me. I couldn't help but feel the blush on my cheeks looking down so he couldn't see my embarrassment.

Chuckling he turns the chair so he facing me reaching out he grabs my hand lifting placing a small kiss to my knuckles.

"What's wrong love? I can feel your emotions, they are all over,"

Lacing my fingers with his I pull his hand to my cheek holding it against me.

"I've missed you, I feel we have been apart for a long time I'm just glad your here with me,"

He smiles at me he stands leaning closer to me so his right in front of he leans his forehead against mine.

"I've missed you as well more then you know, I've been so worried when you didn't wake up and I did, I never wanted to leave your side for a minute please don't ever do that to me again,"

Reaching forward I pecked his lips,

"I promise,' I whispered to him.

"Will you lay with me?"

He stands up looking down at me I was still holding his hand. He gives me a smile with a nod I slide over to make room for him.

He lowers himself to the bed once he's laying down he reaches out pulling me close to him I curl into his side tucking myself against him. I laying my head on his chest so I could hear his heart beat. I close my eyes letting myself drift of asleep,

Dexter

I was beyond happy she woke up I haven't left her room since even when they said that visiting hours were over I simple told them I wasn't leaving,

The one nurse tried to argue with me but Dr Martin came in telling her it was alright I stayed. Either way I wasn't leaving this room.

I felt her looking at me I could feel her emotions through the bond she had a mix of being happy to sadness I was trying hard to understand what she was feeling I just stayed still acted like I was asleep but I couldn't keep still any longer I woke and looked at her.

She wanted me to lay with her I didn't argue I don't really fit in this little bed but I was gonna make it work for her when she tucked up against me I felt a stirring in my chest so i reached out to my dragon but again nothing.

I wasn't exactly happy to hear her say about marking again I didn't want to have what happen repeat its self. But she ensured me that it would be different

I was still feeling a little uneasy about it.

Just then I hear Jon call through the link,

"Dexter, I've found those hunters I followed them for a bit they have stopped right out side of town in a little motel,"

"Good Jon, just keep track of them I will send some more men out stay there till they arrive then come back here,"

"Got it,"

With that I close the link closing my eyes just enjoying the feeling of her next to me.

"You know I can tell when something's bugging you," I hear her say to me I open my eyes to look down to see her looking up at me.

"What's wrong I know you were linking someone, Is there something happening?"

I tighten my arm around her I lower my other hand to her belly slowly I rub my thumb in small circles I see her close her eyes just then I feel a slight thump against my hand. Which made me smile I could feel my baby moving.

"Dexter you feel that?" Her eyes shoot open. She places her hand over mine she was glowing with happiness.

"Yes I think he likes my touch," I say while placing a kiss to her forehead.

"I think your right,"

I kept my hand there I loved feeling the little kicks they weren't super hard just enough to feel it.

The situation with those unknown hunters popped in my head again. Just the thought of them so close to here I didn't know what they wanted. I had a feeling but there was no way they were gonna get anywhere near her or my baby.

I began to feel angry at the thought of them.

"Dexter please tell me what's wrong I can feel your angry about something,"

With my lost train of thought I didn't noticed the little one had stopped kicking and moving. I wondered if he felt my emotions,

"It's nothing love, Just some small business I have Jon handling right now,"

She moves to lean up she turn to look at me laying her hand on my chest.

"I know it's more then that you wouldn't feel this angry if it wasn't something important, please tell me,"

I run my hand down my face taking a deep breath I let it out.

"There's some hunters outside of town, Jon watching them I have extra men going out to relieve him,"

"Hunter's, Why are they here? what are they looking for!" You could see the panic in her face. Her hand grips my shirt holding it tightly she knows hunters mean trouble. Hell the last time she got hurt and I ended up leaving her.

I sit up wrapping my arms around her pulling her to my chest.

"Shhh, it's okay love I won't let anything happen to you or our child, we still don't know what they are doing yet they could be passing through,"

"I hope so Dexter, Ever time we come across hunters it's always trouble someone ends up hurt or killed, I don't want any fighting why can't we have a break," Her voice is cracking I knows she trying to hold her cries in I can feel her worry through the bond.

"I know love, but I promise it will be alright, as long as we stay together we will be fine,"

I feel her head bob a bit. She still it hanging onto my shirt like I'm gonna disappear.

"Hey come on love let's lay back down you need rest, then tomorrow we will leave to go back home,"

I hear a small sniffle she lets go of my shirt I lean back to look down at her face I see tears running down her cheeks. I reach up cupping her face wiping her tears with my thumb. I lean down placing a soft kiss to her lips.

I lay back against the bed she curls up tight to my side laying her head on my chest again. I wrap my arms around her I want her to feel safe laying there.

Slowly I feel her body relax then I hear her breathing even out. I know she fallen asleep looking down I take my hand I move her hair from her face. I reach down kissing the top of her head.
