Chapter 105: The Dragon Prince and His Mate

Dexter.

"Dexter," She whispered.

She stood there with a shocked look on her face.

"Yes little one, are you surprised to see me?"

I stared at her even though I was extremely mad at her for taking off I was rathered relieved to see her standing there unharmed and very very pregnant.

I did want to scold her for disappearing like that and making me chase her for a month but then another side of m just wanted to scoop her up in my arm keep her there and never let her go.

My father walks in standing next to me as well as Jon and Hank.

My uncle comes in and I see mom look at him.

"Sorry Laura but the guards couldn't stop them,"

She gives him a stern look.

"What's the matter, my queen did you think you could hide very long from me?"

My mother looks at him unaffected by his words.

"Oh don't you try that tone with me cause all you will get is an ass-kicking,"

She points her finger at him.

Just then I see lily come next to Max with another girl I remember Tara was her name.

"Lily!" Hank yells at her and she hung her head. before anyone could say anymore we hear.

"Mate," Hank says out loud.

We all stop to look at him he's locked eyes with Tara.

She standing there with her eye wide with a look of confusion.

"Ha look at you man, We come here for them to get their mates and you find yours," Jon says while slapping Hank on the back.

Suddenly I feel an arm behind me Jon's head bobbed forward.

"Ouch! Sir, you slapped me!" He says out

"Jon shut up!" Dad yells at him causing everyone to chuckle and breaking the tension.

"Alright enough with this, Hank why don't you go talk with Tara,"

"Yes Sir," Hak says but never looking away from Tara

He holds his hand out gesturing for her to follow him she glances at Max I see Max give her a smile with a nod.

The two start to walk away when Hank stops to look at lily.

"You're not off the hook either young lady,"

Lily looks down. "Yes, uncle Hank,"

Dad stepped forward

"You my queen have some explaining to do, as well as you my daughter, do you know how panic we have been looking for you three?" He says to them

"Oh, I don't see what there is to talk about. You two lied and kept things from us so we left, that is what happens when you lie to your mates."

"Laura," Dad growled his dragon not liking what mom had said.

"Oh no, you don't! You two can't come walking in here like this and think we need to welcome you with open arms, Dexter you choose to lie to your mate, and you my mate decided not to tell me anything cause you knew I would be against it!"

Mom yelled her eyes turning yellow I see Max close her eyes for a moment,

"Laura why don't we take this to my office," My uncle says while stepping in between us.

"Max," I say her name.

She doesn't open her eyes.

She had a look of pain on her face my mother still has her arms around Max like she shielding her.

I take a step forward calling her again.

Her eyes fly open and I see tears building.

"Max," Just as I was about to reach for her she cries out clutching her belly her legs gave out if it wasn't for mom having her arms around her she would have hit the ground.

"Max!" Mom calls her while holding her slowly bringing her down to the floor

I rush forward kneeling in front of her.

Taking her face in my hands.

"Max what's wrong,"

"Dexter it hurts," She cries.

"Dexter I think she going into labor,"

Mom says.

"Trey get the doctor!" Mom yells at him.

"Breath Max breath," I tell her

Just then I feel wetness under my knee.

Looking down there was water all under where she was laying.

"Mom?" I call her name she looks at me and then looks down at what I was looking at.

"Her water broke, it's okay we have time,"

Just then the doctor comes in kneeling next to me he starts to look her over which earned a growl from me.

"Dexter stop that he's here to help her,"

Mom scolded me.

"Ok her contractions are super close so let's get her moved to the clinic now before they hit harder.

He stands up I move forward scooping her up in my arms she wraps her arms around my neck I pull her close to my chest.

I take off following the doctor's mom and everyone hot on my heels.

"Dexter I'm so sorry," She whispers in my ear.

"It's okay love, I'm not mad at you worried yes but not mad,"

"I left I didn't let you explain I was selfish and I'm so sorry for the way I acted,"

"Love I shouldn't have kept things from you, you are my mate my other half I will never do that again,"

"Ahhh!" She cries clutching her belly with one arm while keeping the other around my neck.

"We need to hurry," Mom says while catching up to us.

We rushed through the doors of the clinic.

"Down here," The doctor says while walking down past the front desk.

"Nurse follow us!" He called to someone.

He leads us into a room.

Everyone piles in behind us.

"Here lay her on the bed,"

Gently laying her down she hugged her belly with both arms not she was crying harder.

"I need everyone out!" The doctor yelled he started pushing the others out.

"I'm not leaving,"

"No, you can stay."

A nurse came over holding a gown.

"I'm sir we need to change her,"

She walked to the other side I helped Max sit up.

"Can you lift your arms please," She asked Max.

Max lifted her arms while the nurse started to pull her shirt up. Once she had that off she slipped the gown over her arms covering her chest.

"You can lay back dear but I'm gonna have to remove your pants and underwear,"

Max just nodded I supported her laying her back down the nurse slipped her pants off along with her underwear.

"Ok, Max we need to put this around you to see how far apart your contractions are," The doctor says while holding this strap-looking thing.

They get her all hooked up with everything the doctor stood reading the screen and talking with the nurse.

I lean over-brushing some hair out of Max's face she was super sweating and pale looking.

"Love talk to me how you feeling?"

She looked up at me with tear-filled eyes.

"It hurts so bad Dexter, I feel like someone is stabbing me,"

"I'm sorry love I'm here,"

I kiss her forehead lightly holding her hand.

We sat there for what felt like forever Max was having more contractions they were harder each time she would cry out in pain and I just wish I could take it all for her.

"Alright, Max it's time to start pushing the doctor came standing next to the bed."

There was a nurse who stood on the other side of Max she instructed me on how to help hold Max upright and how to support her.

Once the doctor got into position me and the nurse got into our spot holding Max.

"Alright, Max when I say your gonna take a deep breath hold it then push,"

He told her.

She nodded her head.

"Okay deep breath in," She does

"Hold it and push," He calls out while his head is between her knees.

Max does as he says.

I kiss her temple keeping telling her how great she is doing. I expected her to yell at me or something but she just kept saying how much she loved me and how sorry she was for leaving.

It feels like it's been hours Max is getting tired. I can feel her body becoming weaker.

"Alright, Max I see its head one more big push come on!"

Max takes a deep breath.

"Okay push Max !"

She starts to push but she can't seem to hold on longer.

"No no Max come on deep breath and push !"

Max does it again pushing with everything she had left.

Suddenly I hear a cry.

"Congratulations you have a little girl,"

The doctor says laying the baby up on Max's chest.

Max looks down at her and then up at me when I see her eyes start to roll up and her arms going limp.

"Max!" I call her the nurse comes up taking the baby off her.

"Doctor what's happening !"

"She losing too much blood! Nurse I need extra help! Sir, you gonna have to leave!"

"I'm not going anywhere!" I growled at him

Just then my father and Jon come in grabbing my arms. I fight against them

"No, I'm not leaving her!"

They managed to wrestle me out the door nurses ran in closing the door.

I go limp falling to my knees in the hallway.
