Micah´s phone ringed and he picked it trough his car Bluetooth.
¨Where are you? you were supposed to be here half an hour ago!¨ Snow said the moment he picked her call.
¨I know, i know i just had to get rid of my mother who was bugging me about something, you know how she can be sometimes! i am close to the hospital okay so hold on and tell the doctor i am almost there!¨ Micah said while stepping on the gas some more.
¨Okay fine, see you soon!¨ Snow said before cutting the call.
Micah cursed when another driver cut him off so he had to break hard as to avoid a collision just when his phone started to ring again.
¨I already to you Snow that i am almost at the hospital and if that doctor is being difficult then let me deal with him once i am there, you just sit and relax and stop stressing your self because that is bad for the baby!¨ Micah muttered frustrated.
But no reply came and then suddenly the line was cut and he checked the number…..
¨SHIT!!¨ he cursed upon seeing who it was, definitely NOT Snow!!
Five minutes later her drove onto the parking lot of the hospital and parked in front of the maternity ward and got out and run towards the entrance. Inside he saw Snow standing talking to a doctor so he walked over to her.
¨Ah see here he is, now can we go do the check up now please??¨ Snow asked while the doctor looked at Micah with a strange look of recognition in his eyes…..
Once inside the hospital room they sat down and waited.
¨I never done this before, what do i need to do?¨ Snow nervously whispered in Mich’s ear.
¨No worry, he will explain everything just relax ok, i will be here every step of the way!¨ Micah husked while rubbing the back of her hand soothingly igniting sparks in both their bodies to his surprise.
¨Okay, Snow if you would come over here please and lay down and put your shirt up then i will get the machine ready.¨ the doctor explained as Snow nodded in understanding.
Suddenly they heard some kind of commotion coming from outside in the hallway and the doctor looked up, feeling disturbed.
¨What is it with those crazy patients?¨ She mumbled as she started to put some cold gel on Snow´s belly, hoping the noise would quiet down soon. Unfortunately I did not making the doctor agitated as she stood up.
“I am so sorry, give me a moment, I will be right back!” She muttered an apologies before walking out into the hallway.
While she was away Micah leaned in and rubbed Snow’s belly.
“They know you are pregnant and they are not happy with it!” He whispered close to her ear.
“What do you mean, who knows?” Snow replied while starring up at the man she had fallen in love with, every day a bit more.
“When I was on my way here I got a phone call and I thought it was you again so I picked up without looking….my mistake! And then after I was finished talked I only heard breathing and then the line went dead so I quickly checked the number and I saw it was my mother’s number!” Micah repeated what had occurred on his way over.
“Dear ice cubes! That’s bad, now what?” She whispered back at him.
“We have to talk about the whole thing anyways….you know….about us….so first let us finish up here and then we will go somewhere ok?”
“Ok, sure” Snow only replied while leaning back into the pillows after which the doctor entered the room again.
“I am so sorry for keeping you waiting! I just don’t like disturbance in my ward so yeah, well folks let’s see how the baby is doing and how far along you are my dear!” The doctor ratlled on while sitting down again.
After she put some cold gel on Snow’s belly she put the device on her belly and started moving around while they all looked at the screen. For some minutes they were all silent until the doctor’s eyes widened in surprise…
“Oh, wow did not see that coming! Congratulations, you are going to be the proud parents of triplets!” She announced happily.
Snow’s eyes lit up like the stars in a dark night sky as she watched their babies floating around in her belly.
“Ehm Snow, are you alright, your eyes are….are kind of changing color?!” The doctor asked in shock as she looked at Snow’s face.
“She is fine, just a thing she was born with, so are you really sure there are three babies, not one?” Micah asked still a bit shocked and in aw about the news.
“Yes, yes look here, see?” The said while pointing out at the screen. “So since you are going to have three you need a lot of rest and we are going to keep an eye on you some more, just in case and you need to make sure you eat enough and healthy and take the prescribed vitamins ok?”
“Sure doctor and thank you!”
“Anytime ehm, Don Micah, right?”
“Just call me Micah please”
“Okay, Micah, please I am sorry if I overstep here but ehm I thought I saw you some time ago with another woman who gave birth later with your mother present?”
“Sheila yes she delivered her daughter yes”
“Her daughter…..ow okay, anyways it is none of my business, you take care of Snow and I will see you guys soon ok!”
“Sure think doc and yes Sheila’s baby isn’t mine!”
“Okay sir, have a good day now”
“You too!”
After that both Snow and Micah sneaked out of the back entrance just in case and sent trough another road back the parking lot where Micah had left his car.
Upon reaching his car he opens the door of the passengers sight and helped Snow settle down in the car before closing it again. After that he went over to his side and buckled in and took off into the direction of the park.
After a short ride in silence he parked the car at the far end of the parking and hot out and helped Snow. Once outside he took her hand in his and started walking towards the entrance of the park.
Along the way he both some snacks and some water to drink and then the walked towards the pond where some benches where situated facing the water where some ducks where swimming together with some swans.
“How are you feeling?” Micah asked after some minuteness of silence.
“Nervous to be honest, I never thought I would have so many children at once and I am still mentally trying to figure things out about, you know my past and what not so it’s a lot Micah!”
“Yeah understand! Like wise for me, I never saw myself so soon becoming a father and also the circumstances are well….a bit complicated, not because of you but what is going on in my own life….but I am happy to become a real father though, please don’t get me wrong ok! It is just on paper i am married now to Sheila and I adopted already her daughter so I have responsibilities so I am turned between you and her and I hate it because that is another issue on my plate!”
Snow nodded while sighing as she stared out over the water.
“I…I understand if you want to stay with her….after…after what I did to you Micah, all I ask is to help me take care of our children until I can go back home, because I do not belong here” Snow softly said after a tear slipped out of her silver orbs.
Micah’s heart ached upon hearing Snow’s broken voice and seeing her cry. Shaking his head he pulled Snow closer to his chest and cradled her, whispering sweet nothings into her ears.
After a while of sitting in silent with Snow snuggled against him he looked down at her and watched her sleeping face and then his eyes went more down, towards her baby bump who was growing fast with three little ones inside. A smile appeared as he lay his big hand on top of her belly and rubbed it gently.
“Whatever happens, I vow to you here and now that I will be there for you and our babies my love, let’s forget the past and look towards the future!” He whispered close to her ear, waking her up from slumber.
“You mean that?” She asked reluctantly.
“I know you have been hurt beyond measures Snow, I can’t change the past and I understand what it means to loose people you care about in dead and wanting to avenge their deaths but you are not alone anymore, I am here with you now and we are going to have children together, I hope I. An restore some of your lost trust in us humans but understand that I can still make mistakes but I am willing to try because I am also in love with you, Snow, i have been fighting it and denying it but it is the truth!” Micah confessed, feeling already a heaviness being lift of his chest. After that he leaned in and captured Snow’s lips with his for a searing, passionate kiss. Slowly the world around them started to faint and as they both closed their eyes, they saw their future appear again, as bright as the sun. Snow sitting on a throne of ice with Micah sitting beside her and their children sitting in front of them, all smiling…
But their happy bubble was rudely popped as the sound of a gunshot echoed through the park…
Then a scream was heard waking Micah and Snow up from their dreamlike state…
“What the hell?!….Snow?….shit Snow!!!”….Micah yelled in agony as he watches how his hands who were holding Snow were getting red with blood….
