Chapter 206: I'm Yours (CALIA)
I slowly opened my eyes. I’d fallen asleep after our wild lovemaking. My head rested on Elion’s chest, my arms wrapped possessively around him.
"You're mine."
I looked up at him as he slept peacefully. I tapped the tip of his nose with my index finger. His eyes slowly fluttered open.
"I'm yours."
"You heard what I said?"
"Loud and clear."
He tightened his arms around my hips, "Go back to sleep. You must be tired."
"Nope. I'm happy."
"Glad to hear that."
I glanced at the clock on the nightstand, it was already late afternoon. I hadn't checked on Lea since leaving her at the pool.
"I'm going to take a shower and check on Lea."
"She's safe with Edward."
"You've had me all morning. Let me check on Lea."
I unwrapped his arms from around my waist and got out of bed. I picked up the blanket that had snagged on the foot of the bed and wrapped it around my naked body. Elion lay on the bed, the sheets tangled around the lower half of his body. He was staring intently at the ceiling. He seemed to have a lot on his mind.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes. Nothing to worry about."
When I finished showering, Elion was already gone. The bed had been made, and the sheets replaced with fresh ones. The scent of laundry detergent had replaced Elion’s masculine aroma in the room. I changed into sweatpants and a blouse I found in the closet. Guilt weighed on my heart. I had left Lea with Edward for too long. When I got downstairs, I found Jack in the living room, drawing with Lea.
"Finally, your mom is back from her honeymoon."
"Sorry. Was Lea fussy?"
"Not at all. She’s a sweet girl."
"Mommy, look. Uncle Jack taught me how to draw Mommy and Daddy."
I nearly burst out laughing. There were two stick men holding hands. One had long brown hair, while the other had copper hair that looked like smoke.
"That’s... a beautiful drawing."
"What did you expect? I’m a bouncer, not a kindergarten teacher. I tried my best."
"It's okay, Jack. I’m really grateful to you for keeping Lea company while I was busy."
He gave me a teasing look.
"Busy making a baby with the boss?"
"Baby?" Lea exclaimed happily.
"Are you having a baby, Mom?"
"What? No, darling."
"Do you want to be a big sister?"
"Yes. I want to be a big sister."
"You’d better give her a little sibling soon, since Lea wants to be a big sister."
I shot Jack a sharp look, "I have a lot of work at the hospital."
"It seems you can still have a baby even though you're busy at the hospital."
"No."
"What's wrong? You're back with Elion, right?"
"Yeah, but we're trying to be good parents to Lea right now. Co-parenting."
"You're not staying here?"
"I have an apartment. I don't want to rush things with my relationship with Elion."
"Are you still having doubts about him?"
"No, it's not like that. I just..." I shrugged quietly.
"It's okay, Calia. Take your time."
Jack and I played with Lea until dinnertime. I didn't see Elion come down at all. When Jack took Lea to the dining room, I went to Elion's bedroom to call him.
"Elion, it's time for dinner."
There was no response. I pushed open the door and stepped into his room. It was empty, but I heard noises coming from the bathroom. I knocked.
"Elion? Are you in there?"
I heard a growl over the sound of the running water. I pressed my ear to the door, frowning. It sounded like a pained growl.
"Elion, are you okay?"
Then I heard the sound of something like a glass bottle falling to the floor and shattering. My breath caught.
"Elion, are you okay? I'm going inside."
Before I could turn the knob, Jack suddenly called out to me from the doorway.
"Calia, Lea is crying and looking for you."
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know. She just wants you. Edward can't calm her down."
"But Elion..."
"I'll handle it. Lea needs you more."
I glanced worriedly at Elion's bathroom door before rushing downstairs to check on Lea.
