Chapter 33: Votes

Lucas's Point of View

I stepped into the mansion, and all eyes turned to me. A group of my men followed behind.

Everyone rose from their chairs at my arrival.

The air tensed as one of my guards pulled the chair for me, and I settled down along with Mason and Max, leaving some of our men standing.

“You all can sit.”

My voice was void of any emotion.

Everyone settled back in their chairs, but my sharp gaze darted between Liam, who had a smirk on his lips, and his father, who sat beside him with a straight face.

There's no DNA needed to prove they are father and son because they are full of nothing but shit, and today they will know who's the boss.

“I want to make a few things clear.”

I placed my hands on the table, my fingers tapping there with a loud thud, and everyone's attention was on me.

“If Maxwell Smith wants the second chair in this house, then he has to pay the amount of seventy billion in cash for the society and prove he's willing to do anything for this chair. As for the war declaration, I decline because I don't fight with teenage boys who don't know what they are doing. And as for Sophie, she's going to become my wife. If you all know what's good for you, you'd leave her alone because whoever touches her will die.”

My voice was cold as I locked gazes with Maxwell. His face was now flushing red with anger. I won't let him have his way. As long as I'm still alive, I'm going to become a nightmare in his life.

“You can't do as you please, Lucas. You can't make a decision here just because you are the lord. What if we don't agree with you?”

I couldn't help but scoff at Liam’s words.

“Is there anyone who doesn't agree with me on this matter?”

I scanned everyone in the room, and no one dared to utter a word because they knew it wouldn't take me a second to destroy them with no remorse.

“Why are you all so quiet? Will you just watch him disrespect you like that?”

Tach asked, his voice laced with rage.

He was the brother of Marco, the one who was supposedly going to avenge the death of his stupid brother, but he was just like his brother, a boneless weakling—maybe even worse because right now he's acting like a whore who didn't get her money after selling herself.

I rose from the chair, slamming my hands against the table.

“Listen carefully, I make the rules in this house, and all of you must obey. If you can't, the door is open. Please leave quietly without making unnecessary noise. I hope I've made myself clear.”

I stared at everyone, and no one dared to utter a word, including Liam and his father. They sat there quietly as if they'd seen a ghost. They wanted to turn everyone in here against me without knowing the rules or the kind of power I had, and now I've shown them.

“If you have nothing more to say, I'm leaving.”

Without looking back, I turned and left the room, leaving everyone to let out a sigh of relief. They knew better than to oppose me. I own this entire city, and it would be foolish for them to try to go against me.

“So you think you've won?”

I turned to see Liam, Tach, and his father walking towards me.

I swear if this man says another word to me, I'm going to kill him right here and now. He has no right to even talk to me.

“I'm going to make sure you regret ever treating me like a dog. I'm going to make your life a living hell.”

I couldn't stop myself from chuckling at his words. He's so delusional that I feel sorry for him.

“I'm sure a dog is a million times better than you, because despite being a dog, it can still live with humans and actually be the reason for someone's happiness. But what about you? What kind of an animal are you?”

I shot him a mocking gaze.

“I wonder! I could have said you were a snake, but they are even better than you.”

Liam lunged at me, ready to throw a punch at my handsome face, but I grasped his hand and twisted it behind him.

“Instead of trying to prove yourself a man in front of your father, you should tell him the truth about your sexuality for a change. And then I'd call you a real man.”

I pushed him so hard that he stumbled on the floor. Tach lunged at me, ready to attack, but I was swift to kick him so hard in the stomach, causing him to let out a loud groan and fall to the ground. I turned to Maxwell.

“If I were you, I'd have stayed as far away from me as possible. Or else, I'm going to chop you into pieces and make you a meal for my dogs.”

I didn't give him a chance to utter another word and walked past him, making my way to my car.

No matter what happens, I'd never forgive Maxwell for whatever he has done to me and my mother, especially how he drove my mother to madness.

I remembered how beautiful and sweet she was when I was younger. I vividly remember how he used to make a punching bag out of her, how he brought different women to our home and had sex with them in their bedroom without caring. He even used her as a bet with his friends, and if he lost, they'd have their way with her. I was young, and I couldn't do anything except watch her cry her lungs out. I'd never forget the day I lost my virginity to an older woman who was his girlfriend.

I'd never forget that day, no matter what happens, and I'd always hate Liam, his mother, and him. I swear, if it were up to me, I'd have killed them and finished them once and for all, but they aren't worth it.
