Chapter 30 Expanding Nelson Group
After a while, Manfred still didn’t reply to Emma.
It was common for her to not receive an immediate response from her master, Emma could only wait.
"Are you upset?" James keenly noticed that her mood wasn't quite right on the way home.
Emma pursed her lips. "Why did you marry me? Ross told me it wasn't because of the marriage contract between the Smith and Anderson families."
James hesitated for a moment, a flicker of complexity passing through his eyes before it turned into a light and knowing expression. "Of course, it's because you're interesting. You grew up in the mountains since you were a child, definitely more interesting than those socialites."
Emma was speechless. James's thinking had always been unique as if he would do anything out of the ordinary.
She asked, "Now that you've seen me in person, what do you think?"
James's unconventional eyes stared at her, unusually deep. "I made the right choice. You're the wife I've always wanted."
Emma sighed. "We agreed to divorce in a year."
He said, "But you're still my wife now, and I can still call you that."
She had no response and thought, ‘Oh well, it's just one year. I will just endure it.”
As for the white tiger, she wasn't that saintly. She couldn't sacrifice her freedom for the tiger's freedom.
When they arrived at the villa, the Smith family was waiting at the door, including Austin.
Having spent some time in prison, Austin had lost a lot of weight. He seemed to have been through a tough time in prison.
"Emma, let's talk," Joey said with a heavy gaze, his eyes full of complexity, as if meeting his own daughter for the first time.
Emma knew their purpose was undoubtedly about the contract with DarkTech Group.
Not long after she left Rolf, the Smith family bombarded her with phone calls and text messages.
However, Emma had set up a block, so the Smith family couldn't disturb her.
Zoe stepped forward, looking like she was concerned for Emma. "Emma, please give up the contract with DarkTech Group. You can't handle such a big project on your own."
Emma sneered, "I have a big appetite, I can handle it. If there's nothing else, please leave."
Austin had been holding back, but now he couldn't help but get angry. "Emma, watch your mouth!"
Emma said, "How about you watch your mouth? Not only is your mouth filthy, but your whole body is filthy. I bet you got special treatment in prison."
The most despised type of prisoner in prison was those who forced women. In their eyes, only those who were incapable would bully women.
"If it weren't for you, how could I end up in there!" Austin was hit where it hurt the most, his face turning red with anger, wishing he could tear her apart.
Emma shook her head. Austin was the type of person who would never admit that he ended up in jail because of those dirty deeds.
"Austin, could it be that..." Zoe's expression was hard to describe, and Austin immediately denied, "Zoe, don't listen to her nonsense."
Joey's voice was cold stern, cutting off the conversation. "That's enough, Emma. Let's put aside Austin's matter for now. The Dunn Group has issued the final ultimatum. If you don't hand over the contract with DarkTech Group to Dunn Group, they will annex the Smith Group next month. You're just a young girl, and your new company can't handle such a big project. Hurry up and hand it over. Otherwise, if you can't fulfill the contract, you won't be able to afford the penalty for breach of contract. We're doing this for your own good."
"Yes, Emma, give it up. Now that you're married into the Anderson family, you have a reliance for the rest of your life. There's no need to start a new company." In Zoe's eyes flashed calculation and jealousy.
In her eyes, Emma should spend her whole life bowing to others, and her hacking skills should always be hidden away.
Emma was amused by their words. "I won't cancel the contract with DarkTech Group. The situation of the Smith family has nothing to do with me."
"Emma, if our family is gone, do you think you can still survive in a prestigious family? The Anderson family won't want a wife without a background like you," Joey threatened.
James's lazy voice sounded beside Emma. "Joey, you can rest assured. I will take care of Emma for the rest of her life, regardless of whether her family is alive or not."
Emma felt speechless. She thought, ‘That is unnecessary.’.
Joey's face darkened. "Are you cursing me?"
James looked like he was asking for a beating. "Yes, I've been like this for a long time. If there's anything that annoys you, just bear with it.”
Joey was so angry he felt like spitting blood. Emma couldn't be bothered to deal with them, so she turned to enter the villa.
Kayla hurriedly said, "Emma, I know you're not that heartless. There are many things wrong with what your father and I did together, and we can change. We are a family, blood relatives connected by lineage. In the eyes of the Anderson family, you're always an outsider. If you really encounter difficulties in the future, the Anderson family won't help you, only your parents will."
Emma looked at her with a sincere expression, as if she really cared for her. But Emma knew that if she really had any trouble, Kayla would definitely abandon her first.
However, she really didn't want to be bothered by these people anymore.
"Have you forgotten that the Dunn Group has publicly stated that they will definitely work with DarkTech Group? Now that they've failed, as long as you spread the news, coupled with the previous incident of the Dunn villa security system being hacked, do you think Dunn Group's stocks won't be affected? By then, the Dunn family will definitely be busy dealing with public opinion and won't have time to deal with you. Maybe the Smith family can even annex Dunn Group."
After saying this, Joey's eyes lit up, and then he looked at Emma with a complicated gaze. "You didn't go to school, did you? How do you know so much about business?"
Emma said lightly, "You'd better go and spread the rumors quickly. If Dunn Group realizes it first and swallows you up, don't blame me for being late."
Joey really didn't have time for her and hurriedly left.
Austin snorted coldly, "You said something useful for once this time. Your trickery skills are really good, no wonder you managed to deceive DarkTech Group into working with you. But with your ability, you will definitely fail. That's what you deserve!"
Zoe's eyes flickered but she didn't say anything, and she left with him.
Emma glanced at James beside her. "Do you think my new company will fail?"
James smiled lightly. "No, my wife is very capable. Whatever you do, you will succeed."
This praise was a bit too much, but she loved hearing it.
Emma suddenly thought, ‘Wait a minute, why do I care about James's opinion?’
Emma adjusted her mindset, didn't respond, didn't even look at him, and left directly.
James was a little puzzled by her mood and chuckled softly. "You are so cute."
Emma quickly signed a contract with the person in charge of DarkTech Group, this time it was not Mr. Mori, but a woman who was bright and elegant.
She glanced up and down at her, pursing her lips. "You are not that great, how could you..."
She didn't finish her sentence, didn't even say her name, and signed the contract expressionlessly before leaving.
Emma felt a bit puzzled by her attitude, but fortunately, the person was from DarkTech Group, so the contract was not an issue.
Later, after adding her on WhatsApp, she learned that the woman's name was Lucy Mitchell, and she seemed very efficient.
For the next few days, Emma was busy with the system production. DarkTech Group was the world's largest multinational corporation, and the confidentiality of the documents was unimaginable. Emma couldn't afford to be distracted by the hustle and bustle between the Dunn and Smith families.
When she finally had a moment to spare, she realized how exciting the struggle between the two families was.
Upon returning home, Joey immediately released news that Dunn Group had never actually cooperated with DarkTech Group, as well as the incident of the Dunn family villa security system being attacked without any counterattack, and spread it through various means, making it widely known throughout the city.
Dunn Group's stocks plummeted the next day, and Rolf also discovered that it was the work of the Smith family. The two families fought fiercely.
While Emma enjoyed the show, she also increased the exposure of her new company by revealing that her company had got the deal to work with DarkTech Group.
She established this company in the hope of replacing the Smith Group.
A person asked, "What kind of company is Nelson Group? Why haven't I heard of it before? Is it a renaming of some big enterprise?"
Another person answered, "I checked. It's a newly established company, and there are only two staff. They must be powerful hackers."
The first person said, "They are so amazing! A team of only two people managed to get a big contract from DarkTech Group! I remember that even the impressive security companies were rejected by DarkTech Group before."
Someone else said, "There are so few people in the company. Can they take me in?"
Emma wanted to increase the exposure of her company, not only to raise its visibility but also to attract some talent.
To make the company big, she needed plenty of talent.
She had no foundation in Gontan. Linda's companies were mostly in catering and entertainment, so she could only use this method to attract talent for interviews.
For several days in a row, she had to manage the progress of the system work while screening resumes and finding talent. She also had to constantly reject James's attempts to get close to her, and cook simple meals for herself, and suddenly, her vision went black, and she collapsed in front of the computer.
When she woke up again, she was in the VIP ward of the hospital.
Beside her was the steady sound of breathing, unfamiliar to her, and Emma was startled awake immediately.
