Chapter 27: Don't Give Up

Zoe's mood wasn't good to begin with. After she was criticized by Rolf, she reached out to pull Emma.

But before her hand could touch Emma, it was interrupted by the stern voice of a man. "She's here to discuss the cooperation too, she's your competitor."

"She is?" Rolf thought Zoe had brought Emma along, with impatience in his eyes, indicating she should hurry up and get rid of her.

Emma drank her tea, feeling a bit more disdainful of Rolf.

She thought, ‘This old man's temper is never good. Even when we were just communicating on WhatsApp, he would send messages and make calls non-stop if he had urgent matters.’

Emma would turn a blind eye to it in the past since he was an elder and her disciple.

Now she realized that anyone who didn't respect their teacher and didn't know their place was definitely not a good person.

Zoe barely managed to force out a smile, "Mr. Mori, my sister is just causing trouble, I don't know where she got the news and came here. But I can assure you, she's uneducated, and she knows nothing about systems. It's better to let her leave quickly."

Mr. Mori looked at Emma, with a smile in his eyes.

Emma calmly looked back at him. “You should know whether I am educated or not.”

She had breached DarkTech's firewall, that was enough evidence.

James was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly burst into laughter. "Yes, I know!"

He took out two laptops and said lightly, "These two computers have been implanted with over a dozen viruses by me. Whoever removes all the viruses first, DarkTech will collaborate with their company."

With these words, Zoe's forehead broke out in a cold sweat.

"Mr. Mori, don't you want to look at the company's resume? Dunn Group has over a decade of experience, dealing with various system issues, all of which have been securely resolved." Rolf was very confident. "Zoe, I believe in you. As long as this collaboration is successful, I will give you the position of CEO of our company, second only to me."

It was impossible for Zoe not to be moved. Rolf had always shown inexplicable trust in her and had done so much for the Smith family.

As long as she could seize this opportunity from Rolf, her position in the Smith family would be even more stable in the future.

She glanced at Emma, whose face was scarred and ugly, and secretly confirmed that she definitely knew nothing about these matters. After all, she graduated from a prestigious university, so she believed that she must be better than Emma in some aspects.

However, when Zoe opened the computer and saw icons flying everywhere on the screen and an uncontrollable interface, she started to panic.

She turned her head to see Emma's fingertips flying rapidly in front of the computer, but because the table was round, she was relatively far away from Emma and couldn't see the situation on Emma's computer.

"Look at your own computer." Mr. Mori's voice was cold.

Zoe trembled all over and dared not look around.

Emma had thought Mr. Mori's temper was quite good, but she didn't expect him to be so harsh. She could even feel his intimidating presence.

It was like being in an exam.

Emma looked at the computer screen, gradually becoming absorbed and ignoring the outside world.

Cleaning viruses was not difficult for her, but these dozen or so computer viruses complemented each other, forming a powerful defense wall. To deal with the viruses, she had to break through this defense wall first. This was the challenge DarkTech had given her.

Zoe was sweating profusely, and Rolf, looking at the contents on the computer, also had little understanding and didn't know where to start.

Two hours passed without them realizing it, and Emma finally came to her senses and returned the laptop to Mr. Mori. "It's done."

There was a layer of sweat on her forehead, and her eyes were filled with excitement. It had been a long time since she had encountered such a big problem.

"How is that possible?" Zoe lost her composure and stood up, and Rolf had already walked up quickly.

Seeing that the computer was running and had obviously returned to its normal state, his face also changed drastically, looking at Emma in shock. "Are you my master? It must be you!"

Emma remained calm. "You are no longer my disciple."

Rolf's expression became quite interesting, while Zoe looked bewildered. She thought, ‘What master? What disciple?’

The corners of Mr. Mori's lips under the mask lifted slightly. "The outcome is clear. The cooperation between DarkTech and Nelson Group is officially established."

He neatly packed up the two computers and quickly left.

Emma felt happy, but she was accosted by Rolf.

He knelt on the ground, crying with snot and tears. "Master, I really didn't know it was you!"

Emma's expression was indifferent as she tried to leave, but Rolf crawled over to block her path again, without any semblance of his former dignity.

"Get lost," Emma said coldly.

Rolf continued to be persistent, and suddenly his gaze noticed Zoe. Without hesitation, he grabbed his cane and fiercely struck her.

Zoe screamed in pain but dared not resist.

Rolf hit her several more times before pleading with Emma. "Please forgive me. It's all because of this wretched woman. She swapped out the longevity pill that only you could produce and never told me where she got it from. This wretched woman just happened to major in computer science in college, knows professional terms, and I was fooled by her."

Emma sneered. "Your values are twisted. At the banquet before, I asked you that I needed a disciple who understood reason, not one who assists in wrongdoing."

Rolf's expression was ugly, but it still carried a hint of pleading. "Dunn Group can't afford to lose this collaboration. I've already told the media. How about this, I'll help you bring down the Smith family to avenge you. Can you give me this collaboration?"

If Rolf were still her apprentice, she might have relented.

But now, it was impossible.

There was no fluctuation in Emma's eyes. "No."

Seeing that she was unmoved, Rolf's gaze gradually became fierce. "Since you don't cherish our old relationship, don't blame me for being ruthless to you. How could a kid who came down from the mountains possibly beat me!"

Rolf took out his phone and tapped on it a few times.

The door of the private room was pushed open from outside, and a large group of Rolf's bodyguards poured in, blocking the surroundings, and some even took out knives.

"Are you going to lay hands on me?" Emma remained calm.

Rolf burst into laughter. "Yes, today I will cripple your hands. Let's see how you can work with DarkTech then! Originally, I was still thinking that if you were willing to reconcile, you could still contribute to Dunn Grouporation in the future. Now, with you crippled, I can get rid of a major source of trouble with just a little money."

Zoe crawled up from the ground, in pain all over, but her eyes were full of satisfaction and mockery.

She understood the situation now. Rolf had mistaken her for someone else, but it didn't matter. Emma was very foolish and was about to be crippled soon.

Even though Emma had some skills, the bodyguards Rolf brought this time were all professionals.

Emma indeed had little confidence. This group of people wanted to injure her hands. It was difficult for her to protect herself.

She clenched her fists firmly.

As long as there was hope, she wouldn't give up.

Just then, the door was pushed open again, and a familiar figure swaggered in.
