Chapter 11: Two Hundred Million Dollars

The air was quiet for a moment. After Emma reacted, she quickly stepped back, feeling the taste of James's unique cologne on her lips and teeth.

"You..." She glared at James, not knowing what to scold him for.

James lightly touched his lips, a triumphant smile flashed in his eyes, but his face remained calm. "Honey, you are so proactive."

Emma felt bitter, unable to express it. After all, she had taken the initiative just now, but James had approached her a bit.

She was unwilling to accept it. Her first kiss was gone like this. The guy who took it was the one who had a fetish for ugly women.

Still, she couldn't help it and slapped him directly.

"Smack!"

Emma didn't hold back at all this time. The fair and handsome cheek of James turned red instantly, and there was even a bit of blood at the corner of his mouth.

After the slap, Emma realized that she had probably hit too hard.

"Are you okay?" Seeing that James, who had just been lively and talkative, didn't speak, she couldn't help but ask.

"Of course, I'm fine. Does your hand hurt?" James smiled again, out of tune, and even wanted to hold her hand.

Emma wanted to slap him again, but she held back, evading him without leaving any traces, and handed him a tissue. "Wipe your mouth, there's blood."

"Okay." James's voice was low and gentle, with a faint smile on his lips and tenderness in his eyes. Paired with the redness on his lips, it looked seductive. Unfortunately, the large patches of swelling on his face ruined this beauty.

Even so, Emma was momentarily distracted.

No one disliked beautiful things, and she was no exception. James was too good-looking.

James didn't stay long. After taking a phone call, he had to leave. Emma wished he would disappear quickly. But before he left, she handed him a mask. "Put it on, your face is a bit red."

Emma was still a little embarrassed. James was so injured that he might still need some ointment.

But this matter wasn't her fault either. If James hadn't stolen a kiss from her, she wouldn't have slapped him like that.

"My wife is so kind." James's eyes sparkled. He lowered his head again and couldn't help kissing her lips.

Emma thought she reacted quickly enough, but he was quicker. By the time she realized she had been taken advantage of again, all she could do was slap him again.

"Smack!"

The red marks on James's face were symmetrical this time.

James wasn't angry. He touched his face, smiled, and said, "A slap in exchange for a kiss, it's worth it."

Emma blushed and gritted her teeth. "How many women have you treated like this?"

James replied as a matter of course. "Of course, only you. I've given my first kiss to you. We're going to get married. What's wrong with kissing?"

He said confidently. Emma suspected he had used this line to deceive many people, but she had investigated James. Although he did a lot of things, there was really nothing shady about him.

But even so, she still felt that she was at a loss. "You..."

James stopped while he was ahead and quickly put on his mask. "I'll go first. Call me if you need anything. Here's my business card. I've already asked your family for your phone number."

This meant that he might call later.

Emma was so angry that she threw a pillow at him.

James caught it firmly, placed it at the foot of the bed, and when he left, he thoughtfully closed the door and gently touched his lips, laughing softly.

He thought, ‘So sweet. I have waited for this day for too long.’

At this time, the Smith family had just come out of Rolf's ward and saw James's departing figure.

Because James was wearing a mask, no one recognized him for a moment. Zoe looked worried. "Is that man Emma's friend? But Emma has just arrived in Gontan. Where did she find friends? Could it be some unsavory character?"

Austin frowned slightly, feeling that the figure seemed a bit familiar. "Earlier, I wanted to take Emma away, but James suddenly insisted on bringing her to the hospital. Was that James?"

"How is that possible?" Zoe said without hesitation, "Mr. Anderson is so flamboyant, he would never wear a mask. Only Emma, that ugly duckling, likes to wear masks."

"That's true." Austin also realized his mistake.

The Smith parents were furious. "This disobedient girl, always causing trouble for the family! Fortunately, she's getting married soon, otherwise she would bring so much shame to our family."

Kayla was disappointed in Emma and regretted giving birth to her.

Zoe was very satisfied with the Smith family's attitude towards Emma and spoke again. "Mom, only Emma knows where to get the longevity pills. If she knew I needed them, she definitely wouldn't tell us."

Kayla patted her hand reassuringly and said, "Don't worry, leave this matter to Mom to handle. Even if it's for the Smith family, she will have to provide us with the source."

Joey Smith also nodded, "If we have this source, we can send longevity pills as gifts in the future. We can surpass the Dunn family easily."

Rich people all wanted to live longer. It was said that someone who took a longevity pill before was on the brink of death, but after taking one, they were lively again and lived for another year. If their family has the source, they won't worry about not having any collaborations.

As they were talking, Emma's hospital room door was pushed open directly, and the Smith family crowded in.

"Emma, quickly tell us where to get the longevity pills!" Austin said directly.

Emma was holding her phone and sending a message to her assistant. Seeing them, she wasn't surprised and said coldly, "Two hundred million dollars each."

"So expensive! You might as well rob us! The most expensive one in the auction house is only 60 million dollars!" Austin was shocked.

Joey's face darkened instantly, "Emma, tell us the source quickly. We'll buy it ourselves."

A slight smile appeared at the corner of Emma's lips. "Whatever. I'm not a member of the Smith family soon anyway. Didn’t you guys always flaunt your wealth and look down on the poor? How can you not afford two hundred million dollars now? So poor."

She looked Joey up and down as if looking at a poor person.

"You..." Joey's face turned red and blue in turns. Kayla quickly comforted him and scolded, "Nonsense! Who allowed you to speak to your father like that!"

Emma sneered, "I did. After all, I've been abandoned since I was a child. Austin ruined my appearance and caused me to be kidnapped by human traffickers. You didn't blame the culprit but gave up on me. What a waste. Your son couldn't even find a source of the longevity pills and have two hundred million dollars. He's really useless. You're also useless. You couldn't protect your own biological daughter back then, and now you're being manipulated by an adopted daughter along with your son. Fortunately, I'm nothing like you."

"Emma!" Joey was so angry that his face turned red.

Emma calmly said, "What's wrong? You're so kind to others, but you can only be mean to your own family?”

Joey was so angry that he was panting heavily. Kayla saw this and quickly took out a bottle of medicine from her pocket and gave him a pill. Joey felt a little better after taking it.

Kayla glared at Emma angrily, "Your father has high blood pressure. The doctor said he shouldn't be upset."

"Then he shouldn't come near me. I don't want to see him. None of what he said was what I wanted to hear." Emma rolled her eyes.

Austin's eyes were full of disappointment. "Emma, how did you become like this?"
