Chapter 103
BION
My eyes widened as my jaw literally dropped staring at the magnificent in front of me.
Bright burning red, liquid flames flood the room as it comes from a source none other than my mate.
She shapeshifted after death into a creature that has been extinct for thousands of years.
Bright fiery red wings that are so large people have to move for it to land, her beak is sharp, and elongated with eyes burning red.
“Qiiii!!!!” she squeaks, the sound roaring throughout the whole place.
Some people shriek, rushing backwards as her large feet move about.
The power, authority emitting from her is so exceptional it brings tears to my eyes.
I didn't lose her. I didn't lose my mate.
My heart swells as the bond I felt breaking slowly came back alive, leaving me full, and whole.
My feet move slowly, and steadily taking me up to where she is.
The whole room goes silent as everyone watches me with utmost interest.
Or it could be my mind silencing them because all I can see at this moment is the beautiful phoenix that rose from the ashes.
My beautiful phoenix.
One step at a time until I am standing directly in front of her. Her glow shines so bright I have to switch to my Alpha eyes to be able to withstand it.
Slowly she turns her head, and stares down at me, a delightful squeak leaving her throat.
She flaps her wings then ever so slowly her beaks retreat, the wings recedes, and slowly until she turns right back into my beautiful Mel.
Dressed in a flowing white dress, her lips curve into a bright smile as she breathes out, “Hi.”

It feels extraordinary. I feel extraordinary.
Turns out the curse was actually a blessing. It was always meant to happen no matter how much I tried to suppress it.
The best part however is that I possess the power of every supernatural including a phoenix.
And before the power of the phoebus could be fully accessed I had to die.
I met her, the woman who cursed me. Looking as beautiful as ever.
“The curse was meant to see if you were like your father. If you would selfishly choose yours over the world. Thank you for passing the test, you will make an excellent Grand Queen.” she had said.
Tears gathered around my eyes as I recalled the moment she said that, and pushed me back.
It was all a test to not turn out like my papa.
Now I am back, and I have never felt happier.
Staring at his eyes as he watches me all u could bring myself to utter is, “Hi.”
“Hi.” he gasps, taking in a deep breath.
“I can't believe you're here. It feels like a dream, please tell me I am not dreaming, and you are truly here.” he mumbles, taking a step forward.
My lips curve into a smile as I stretch my fingers out, snagging a chunk of his flesh, and pull.
“Ahh!!! That hurts.” he gasps, smacking away my fingers.
“I am real, and I am so happy to be back.”I say, tears rolling down my cheeks.
He lunges at me, wrapping his arms tightly around my body as a choking sob leaves his throat.
“I can't believe you are here.” he cries out, I wrap my arms tightly around his waist, tears rushing down my eyes as I mutter.
“It was all a test. I was never meant to stay dead.”
After what feels like forever he unwraps his arms around me, a bright smile taking over his features.
“Yahhh!! Can we have our moment now?” Z whines, stomping her foot repeatedly.
“I need to send some beating into that brain of hers. How dare she leave us even for a second huh? Wasn't Macho enough?” Julie screams, trying to lunge at me.
Aiden, and Kevin wraps their arms around him, putting him in a spot.
“Just let him come, and let his anger out. I got him.” I murmur, waving my finger in the air.
They let him go, and lunge at me barrelling his body into mine as he releases sounds of pain.
“I love you Mel. I never got to tell mom,and it hurts so much not being able to tell you. I love you, you are the best sister in the world.
Please don't ever leave me like that again.” he cries out, tears rushing down his cheeks.
My heart warms as I wrap my arms around him, “I love you so much Julie. I don't say it enough but I do love you.” I tell him, rubbing my palm on his back as he cries harder.
“We love you so much Mel. You are the best person on earth.” Kim says, wrapping her arms around both Julie and I.
One by one they all join the hug until the chanting in the room becomes so loud I have to turn to the people.
“WE LOVE YOU MELANIE, AND WE ARE SORRY FOR MISJUDGING YOU.” the people scream at once all in sync.
It brings tears to my eyes as they all raise their hands in the air, chanting, and cheering. The sounds of joy emitting throughout the hall.
“Shall we continue the coronation?” The ancient one asked, earning loud cheers from the people.
“Yes we shall.” I reply, nodding my head.
I move forward stretching my palm out as he takes a silver knife, tearing through my flesh.
Red liquid flows into the bowl. Immediately it drops into the bowl a red flame erupts at the same time the cheers of the people erupt.
Bion steps forward, performing the same ritual before our hands are joined together.
“All hail the Grand King and Queen!” the ancient one announced.
“LONG LIVE THE GRAND KING!!!”
“LONG LIVE THE GRAND QUEEN!!!!” they chant, pumping their fists in the air.
Life doesn't always give you what you want, but I realise it gives you what you need.
If the curse hadn't been laid, my mom wouldn't have done what she did, and I wouldn't have met my friends or Bion.
I wouldn't have turned out to be who I am today.
It wasn't easy, hell my whole life turned upside down after my eighteenth birthday, but looking back now.
I would totally go through it all over again if it means I get to be with my people, my friends, my family.
A large smile breaks out of my lips as I turn my eyes meeting that of Z.
“You did it!!”she mouths, throwing her fist in the air with a satisfying smile.
I look around, noting the smile on each and every one of my friends' faces.
This isn't the end of my journey, in fact this is only the beginning, but I know that whatever comes after I have a family standing beside me.
