Chapter 96 Provocation, Is She Taking Pregnancy Medication?

Apex Global Enterprises' anniversary bash was way too corporate.

Henry's crew, except for Bethany who was all about social events, had zero plans to show up. But once they saw the group chat, they all got hyped.

[Man, I'm overseas. Is it too late to snag a flight now?]

[Snap pics, shoot vids.]

Henry: [None of y'all should come.]

Everyone: [Why not?]

Henry: [Bunch of weirdos, you'll freak her out.]

Everyone was ticked off.

Gavin chimed in: [Aren't you in a silent treatment phase? You guys cool now?]

Henry clammed up.

Diana had no clue about any of this. She was dry-heaving, looking pale as a ghost.

Following the staff's directions, she found an empty lounge. In her bag were folic acid, calcium tablets, and a bottle of vitamin B6.

Juniper had someone pick her up at the crack of dawn. She didn't even have time for breakfast, so she just tossed the meds in her bag.

The lounge was stocked with fruits and snacks. Diana poured herself a glass of water, popped two vitamins, and just as she swallowed them, the door swung open.

Clara strutted in wearing a light blue dress, a small diamond-studded tiara perched on her head, chin up like she owned the place.

Seeing Diana quickly shove a pill bottle into her bag, Clara couldn't read the label but smirked, "What meds you taking?"

"None of your business, Ms. Spencer."

"Got some embarrassing disease?"

Clara always thought Diana was trash.

Everyone in Velvet City knew Diana had a thing for Oliver for five years, then moved on to Henry, and even Trevor. She must've been with a ton of guys.

A chick like Diana didn't deserve to join the Spencer family.

Diana chuckled and ignored her.

"Did I hit a nerve?"

Clara thought she struck gold, her eyes filled with even more contempt and mockery.

"Listen up, know your place. Just 'cause you suck up to Juniper doesn't mean you can join the Spencer family. You really think Henry would go for someone like you?"

"Stay away from Henry and Oliver!"

Diana still didn't bite, took another sip of water, put down the glass, and got ready to bounce, cool as a cucumber.

Clara's warning was nothing. Seeing Diana so chill, Clara lost it, "Diana, what’s your deal? I'm talking to you, are you deaf?"

Diana glanced at her, unfazed. With her royal blue dress and slightly curled long hair, she looked more like a socialite than Clara.

"If a dog barks at you, would you bark back?"

"You—" Clara was fuming, her face turning white with rage, and she lunged at her.

"I was invited by Mrs. Spencer. If you dare to hit me, let's see if Mrs. Spencer will let you off!" Diana stayed calm, not scared at all.

If Clara dared to hit Diana, it would be a slap in Juniper's face. Clara wouldn't dare!

Clara just stood there, fists clenched tight.

After Diana left, Clara lost it, smashing the cup Diana had used. Watching the glass shards on the floor, her anger boiled over.

When Diana re-entered the banquet hall, Henry was already there. A pro pianist was playing live, and over a thousand elites and big shots were mingling.

Under the bright lights, Henry was all decked out in formal wear, holding a wine glass and mingling with the crowd. He was definitely one of the most eye-catching dudes in the room.

Loads of women were giving Henry the eye, but he spotted someone in the corner.

Diana was holding a glass of juice, sipping it alone like a lonely kitten. She looked pale and kinda sick. Was she really not feeling well?

Henry tugged at his Windsor knot, feeling frustrated.

Diana had just texted him.

[Let's talk after the banquet!]

Was she really gonna break up with him?

Thinking about Diana laughing and chatting with Caleb, Henry's mood darkened, almost losing his cool, until Lucas quietly reminded him, "Mr. Spencer, Mr. Rodriguez and the others have arrived."

"Where's Bethany?" Henry didn't see her.

"In the lounge."

Bethany and the others were being thoughtful, worried that a crowd would freak Diana out. They wanted Henry to bring her over for a private chat.

But to their disappointment, only Henry showed up. Looked like they were still in a silent treatment phase.

Juniper was busy greeting guests. Seeing Diana alone, she went over and told her to help herself. "If you really can't stay, I'll have someone take you back early."

"It's okay, you go ahead."

Diana planned to talk to Henry, so she wasn't leaving early.

Juniper nodded with a smile, thinking to herself: 'Where did Henry go? I was giving him a chance, and he didn't appreciate it, wasting my efforts.'

Juniper sighed and turned to find Henry.

Diana, holding her bag, walked to the dining area to get some food. She had no appetite, but thinking about the baby, she had to eat something. So she circled the dining area but didn't take anything.

"What's wrong? Too many choices, and you don't know what to eat?"

Clara walked over, followed by a group of socialites.

"Some of these things you might never have seen before. Choose carefully."

Diana didn't expect Clara to dare provoke her publicly after their lounge confrontation.

Diana knew Henry valued this event and had put a lot of effort into the anniversary. She didn't want to ruin the banquet by clashing with Clara.

So Diana chose to leave, but unexpectedly, someone bumped into her back. She almost hit the table corner, instinctively protecting her belly with her hands, and her bag fell instantly.

Clara immediately walked over, bent down to pick up the bag, and handed it to her.

"Ms. Windsor, how careless of you."

Diana reached out to take her bag, but Clara had somehow opened the clasp, and the things spilled out.

Clara feigned surprise, full of apologies, "Ms. Windsor, I'm so sorry!"

Several pill bottles rolled out, even to other people's feet.

Diana's breath tightened, glaring at Clara.

Clara, however, was all smiles, her eyes filled with disdain and provocation, thinking, 'Aren't you taking some embarrassing medicine? Let's see what you're taking. I'll let everyone know you have a dirty disease! Then I don't know how you can still charm Henry and seduce Oliver.'

Diana took a deep breath, ready to pick up the fallen items, but the pill bottles had already been picked up by others.

"Is she taking folic acid?"

Everyone was shocked!
