Chapter 84: The Storm is Coming

Henry watched Diana in distress, his heart breaking piece by piece. He softly hugged her.

"Aurora's words can't be fully trusted. Nathan and Celeste abandoned her. To reduce her sentence, she would do anything." He gently stroked her back.

"Can you help me investigate?" Diana asked.

Indeed, Aurora's words couldn't be taken at face value.

"Yes, I'll help you." He held her tighter.

That night, she couldn't sleep well, recalling every moment spent with the Windsor family. If Aura wasn't lying, how could she remain cool?

Henry didn't rest well either; he was heartbroken for her.

Lucas was very efficient. Early the next morning, he brought the investigation results.

In reality, many wealthy people's origins were not honorable and couldn't withstand scrutiny.

But someone like Nathan was rare; building, his fortune on the inheritance left by Diana's parents. The most crucial part was that he prospered off Diana's parents but mistreated her.

Nathan usually mistreated Diana. When the family fell on hard times, he even sold her. There wasn't a more shameless uncle in the world; it was utterly insane.

Lucas was furious. "It's absolutely disgusting."

Aurora told Diana these things to seek her forgiveness and reduce her sentence or get a lighter punishment, but it revealed the deepest ugliness of the Windsor family.

Diana held the investigation results, her fingers trembling. Aurora's words were all true!

"Diana," Henry held her hand. "What do you plan to do?"

"I'm not willing to let this go!" Diana gritted her teeth.

How could she watch Nathan and Celeste live so freely?

"What do you want to do?" He looked at her.

After a sleepless night, her eyes were red, as if ready to kill someone.

"I have an idea..." Diana leaned close to his ear, whispering her plan.

Henry squinted, his eyes growing darker.

Since Diana could skip grades to study medicine, she wasn't a fool. Her gentle and uncompetitive nature didn't mean she wouldn't fight.

If she wanted to, she naturally had ways to deal with the Windsor family.

Lucas stood aside, watching them whisper. Couldn't they speak louder? Was there something he couldn't hear?

"Mr. Spencer, what do you think?" Diana asked.

Henry's face was calm, but he was surprised.

He originally thought that as long as Diana asked, he could handle the Windsors without a problem. But he didn't expect her to have a plan.

If it succeeded, Nathan and Celeste would be utterly disgraced.

"It's great," Henry held her hand tightly. "When the time comes, I'll give you a big gift."

"What gift?" Diana asked.

"It's a secret." He smiled.

Lucas was scratching his head, driven mad by curiosity.

In the following two or three days, Diana stayed home reading books related to her doctoral exams. Henry was also very busy, and she couldn't see him at all. Elodie came by twice, and upon hearing about Nathan and Celeste, she was so angry she wanted to fight them.

"They're just too much!" Elodie shouted.

Diana hadn't cried, but Elodie's eyes were swollen from crying.

On the other hand, Juniper often visited, and they'd cook together.

Elodie teased her, "You'll never have mother-in-law conflicts in the future."

That day, after Juniper left Serenity Manor, she received a call from Henry.

"Mom, how is she today?" He asked.

"She's fine," Juniper answered.

Juniper was exasperated. "If you're worried about her, stay with her yourself. I'm your mom, not your spy."

"I have some things to handle, but I can't leave her alone." Henry was helpless.

Nathan and Celeste's actions impacted Diana greatly, and Henry was worried about her.

"You focus on work and use me? I'm your mom, not your subordinate." The more Juniper thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. But she cared deeply for Diana, so although angry with Henry, she still came by every day.

She was worried sick about Henry's marriage.

Henry hung up the phone, and the car had already stopped in front of an old building.

Lucas pointed to the 5th floor. "Mr. Spencer, he's up there."

"Go get him," Henry said.

Henry reached the 5th floor and knocked on the door. It was opened from the inside.

The person who opened the door turned pale with fright upon seeing him. When he tried to close it Henry had already kicked it open, knocking the person to the ground.

The door slammed into the wall behind it with a loud bang, shaking the entire building.

"Mr. Spencer?" Trevor, who had fallen to the ground, trembled, his obese body shaking.

"Mr. Brown, long time no see," Henry said.

"How did you find me?" Ever since he failed to rape Diana, lost $1 million, and offended Henry, Trevor had fled overnight.

Nearly two months had passed with no movement from any side, and Diana hadn't reported to the police. Trevor thought the coast was clear and sneaked back to Velvet City.

He didn't expect Henry to come straight for him! Was he a demon?

Trevor trembled all over, even his voice shaking.

Henry looked down at him like a king, looking at an ant with contempt and disdain.

"I told you to turn yourself in to the police, but you ran?" Henry questioning.

"Mr. Spencer, please spare me." Trevor crawled and knelt beside him, begging repeatedly.

"Did you think you could escape?" Henry's voice was icy, as if coming from hell to claim his soul!

Recently, the big news in Velvet City was Aurora's arrest for kidnapping.

Thus, Nathan held a press conference to announce the severance of their father-daughter relationship, attracting much attention. He wanted to use this opportunity to announce some upcoming company projects to stabilize people's hearts and invited many media outlets.

The Windsor family had some status in Velvet City. Albeit declining now, it didn't dampen people's enthusiasm to gossip about them.

The hall was crowded.

As soon as Nathan and Celeste appeared, reporters raised their cameras, the sound of shutters clicking incessantly.

Nathan sat in the middle of the stage, with Celeste and several company executives beside him.

"I'm very sorry to take up your time with personal matters. Over the years, my wife and I have been busy with work, neglecting our child's upbringing, leading to her grave mistake," Nathan said.

He had been ill and hadn't appeared in a long time, looked thin and haggard. When he spoke, his voice was hoarse and weary. But after just a few words, he seemed to see something shocking, and his voice stopped.

Everyone followed his gaze to the entrance of the hall, where Diana stood.

She wore all black today, her hair neatly tied back with no makeup while her eyes were frosty. Her demeanor was different from usual as if not attending a press conference but a funeral.
