Chapter 220: Venting Anger

Emily was momentarily stunned by the sudden insult.

Jeremy had always been polite since childhood, so it was rare for him to say something so harsh to her. This was the first time.

The humiliating words made Emily clench her phone in anger.

Jeremy was just as despicable as Elizabeth. Even when she had hit rock bottom, Jeremy refused to help her and instead kicked her while she was down!

Emily had long since stopped loving him. Now, she only wanted to destroy him along with Elizabeth.

Instead of getting angry at Jeremy over the phone, she pretended to be pitiful and deliberately brought up the past.

"Jeremy, how can you say such things? We were in love once. Have you forgotten those days?"

Hearing Emily mention the past only made Jeremy angrier, and his words became increasingly harsh.

"How dare you bring up the past? Wasn't it you who stripped naked to seduce me? If it weren't for the fact that you looked a bit like Elizabeth, do you think I would have agreed to sleep with you?"

"Do you know that every time we had sex, I felt disgusted? I had to cover your face and only look at your eyes, which resembled hers, to muster any desire!"

Emily frowned. She had intended to keep up the act, but Jeremy's words were too much. She angrily hung up the phone.

Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself before finding the recording of the call.

With a quick edit, Emily smiled and anonymously posted the recording online, captioning it: "One of the men Elizabeth seduced just called to confront me."

Emily was well-versed in smearing Elizabeth's reputation. She knew exactly how to ruin her in the public eye.

This time, Emily not only wanted to strike back beautifully but also to destroy Elizabeth completely!

Three years ago, her mother had crushed Nola, and now Emily intended to do the same to Elizabeth.

Having experienced the feeling of being scorned by everyone, Emily was eager for Elizabeth to go through it again!

Meanwhile, Elizabeth had just managed to retract the previous news when the recording was exposed.

The incident's heat surged to another peak.

Although the message was taken down within half an hour, many people still discussed it privately, and Elizabeth couldn't stop them.

Emily had achieved her goal and was probably very pleased.

Elizabeth called Henry directly, "I want Emily to participate in the lab's assessment. I want to meet her in person."

Killing Emily now would be too easy and meaningless.

Elizabeth was already looking forward to their encounter at the Verdantia National Laboratory.

At that moment, their true standings would be revealed.

Nola hadn't seen any of the online news; Alice had kept it all from her.

Alice, noticing Elizabeth's expression, cautiously tugged at her sleeve.

"I know you're feeling down. How about we hit up a bar and grab a drink?"

Elizabeth shook her head. Day drinking wasn't her thing, and she wasn't in the mood.

"No, it's fine. Stay here and keep my mom company. I need to get out and clear my head."

Emily's antics were really getting under Elizabeth's skin.

Emily was like a persistent mosquito, always buzzing around and causing trouble.

Elizabeth regretted not dealing with Emily sooner. Now, it was harder to gather intel on her.

It had been a while since Elizabeth last visited the underground fight club. This time, Elizabeth was in a bad mood and just wanted to vent her anger, so she went back again.

The underground arena had changed; now, there were many faces from Verdantia.

Among the burly foreigners, they held their own and seemed to be doing well.

Elizabeth's entrance immediately drew attention.

A petite girl like her was clearly out of place in such an environment. Some men even eyed her with predatory intent.

Ignoring their stares, Elizabeth took off her jacket and tossed it aside, stepping into the ring in just a black tank top.

She scanned the crowd, her voice cold, "Who wants to challenge me?"

The room fell silent for a moment before the men burst into laughter.

Mocking and skeptical voices filled the air.

"Little girl, you should be out shopping, not here."

"With that tiny frame, one punch from me would break all your bones. Get lost!"

"Don't think you're special. We men won't give you the time of day!"

Elizabeth's mood worsened, her cold eyes filled with hostility.

She locked eyes with the loudest man, smirking as she beckoned him.

"I choose you. Come fight me."

No man with any pride could resist such a challenge. Ignoring that his opponent was a girl, he charged at her, spewing insults.

"Bitch, if you lose, I'll make sure you regret it tonight!"

Elizabeth scoffed.

As the man approached, his muscles bulging, she showed no fear.

The referee announced the start, and the rules were simple: whoever fell or couldn't get up lost.

Elizabeth clenched her fists, flexing her wrists.

As the man arrogantly approached, she threw a punch!

He raised his hand to block, underestimating her.

But it was too late when he realized his mistake.

Elizabeth's punch was powerful, breaking his hand and continuing to his chest.

The man's screams echoed through the arena as he fell, clutching his chest in pain.

The room fell silent, many standing in shock.

Elizabeth, close enough to hear his ribs crack, slowly withdrew her hand, coldly looking down at him.

"Do you know who I am? Someone who survived the gunfire of Solterra won't be scared by your muscles."

The man, struggling, managed to ask, "How are you so strong?"

Elizabeth smiled. "Survive a pile of corpses, and you'll be this strong too."
