Some Celebratory Sex Play
Some Celebratory Sex Play
Evelyn just got out of the shower, and she was wearing her red silk robe, waiting for Marco to show up. She called him earlier on her way back from the office for some celebratory sex play. She was celebrating the content in the envelope lying on the table in front of her.
She popped open an expensive bottle of red wine and poured herself a glass, this was to set the mood for tonight. The bubbles from the wine spilled on her wrist, but she didn't care. She lifted the glass high, grinning at no one but the universe.
“To luck,” she whispered, tilting her head and laughing. “God, You really do love me.”
She took a long sip, savoring the taste of victory.
Her living room was dimly lit, soft jazz humming low from hidden speakers, the scent of vanilla candles curling through the air.
Inside the envelope were glossy photographs of Tessa with a little girl, Tessa at the mall and her hugging a young man right in front of her house. How shameless.
Evelyn plucked the last photo between her fingers and smirked. “So that’s the ex,” she murmured. “And possibly the baby daddy…”
Her phone buzzed. She snatched it up immediately.
“Tell me you have something new,” she said, not bothering with a greeting.
The private investigator’s voice came through, rough and tired. “Still watching her, Miss Crest. No new movements yet. Nothing out of the ordinary, she just left her ex’s house and she's heading home. She looked disturbed.”
“Trouble in paradise?”
“I guess they had a little disagreement. I'll just keep following her and if something new comes up, I'll call you immediately.”
Evelyn’s smile sharpened. “And she still has him in her life, what was she expecting?” Men are terrible beings, she thought to herself, but Tessa deserves whatever is making her sad.
“Also,” the investigator added, “she’s sneaky. Something about her doesn’t add up. I’ll find it. If there’s dirt, I’ll dig it up.”
“Good,” Evelyn breathed. “Because Damien doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. And I’m going to help him see it. Clear as sunlight.”
She ended the call, humming to herself as she slid the photos neatly back into the envelope, almost immediately she heard a knock on her door.
Then quickly, she shoved the envelope under the magazines on the table, straightened her blouse, checked her reflection in the TV screen, and forced a warm smile.
Marco was here already, time to give her body the long awaited pleasure it deserves.
As she opened the door, her smile dropped. It wasn't Marco.
“Mom?”
Her mother stood there, elegant as always, wearing a soft pink coat, and a thousand dollar Hermes purse. She was holding a freshly baked pumpkin pie she got from the bakery around the corner.
“Princess,” her mum smiled, wrapping her arms around her. “You look hot baby girl.” Her mum walked past her and entered the living room.
“Mum, you didn't tell me you'll be stopping by today.”
“Well,” her mom said with a raised eyebrow, “is it a crime to visit my daughter unannounced?”
Evelyn let out a small laugh and stepped aside. “No, Mom. I just… you didn’t call, so I figured you would have. That's the right thing to do.”
“I was in the area,” her mom said, putting down the pie on the coffee table. “Thought I’d stop by and say hello, I even brought along your favourite.”
“Thank you,” Evelyn breathed, she wasn't very happy to see her mum. She loved having her mother around, but not tonight, Marco would be here any moment from now.
She moved quickly into the kitchen to hide her nerves, grabbing a second champagne glass and filling it.
Her mom took the glass with a knowing smile then her gaze caught on the envelope on the table.
“What’s this?” she asked.
Evelyn’s stomach flipped. “It's work related.”
“Oh?” Her mom lifted a brow, unconvinced but choosing not to push. “Fine, fine. How’s Damien?”
Evelyn’s lips curved. “He’s fine.”
“And will he still be coming to your great-aunt’s party? She invited him, but with how busy he is, I don't know if he'll be able to make it.”
“Of course he’ll come,” Evelyn cut in confidently. “Actually…” She straightened, faking embarrassment. “He asked me out recently.”
Her mother gasped, thrilled. “Evelyn! That’s wonderful news.”
Evelyn pretended to blush. “We’ll see how it goes. Something might happen soon.”
“Oh, I can’t wait to tell everyone,” her mom said. “I always told them you were the perfect match, the both of you were made for each other, I've always known that.”
“Mm-hm,” Evelyn hummed.
“And your father keeps asking when you’re joining the company. He’s already preparing your office.”
Evelyn sighed. “We’re working on a big project. After that, we’ll talk. I don't want to just leave Damien right now, especially since I'm very important to this project. I need to be around.”
Her mother nodded approvingly. “Good. You’re meant for bigger things.”
Evelyn smiled, then her phone rang. She glanced down at the screen and her stomach dropped. It was Marco.
Shit.
Her mother was watching her.
Evelyn cleared her throat, rejected the call, and placed her phone face down.
It rang again.
Her mother’s eyes narrowed. “Why aren’t you answering?”
“It’s nothing,” Evelyn said quickly. “No one important, just some guy I met a few days back.”
“Then answer it.”
“No, Mom…”
Then they heard a knock on the front door. Both women turned toward the door.
Evelyn froze like a deer in headlights.
Her mom whispered, “Who’s that? Evelyn?”
Evelyn swallowed hard. “Just… stay here, I'll get the door. Maybe it's a delivery guy.”
She walked to the door slowly, praying that it wasn’t who she thought. Then she opened it.
It was exactly who she thought.
Marco stood there smiling, wearing tight black pants, a half-open shirt, cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, a single black cufflink in one hand, and a freaking whip in the other.
“Hey baby,” he drawled, voice low and sultry. “You ready for a little role-play?”
Evelyn’s blood left her body.
“Marco, you need to leave, I mean…”
Before she could shove him away, her mother appeared behind her. Her mother’s jaw fell open.
“What,” her mother said, voice rising pitch by pitch, “the actual fuck is this no good young man doing here?”
Evelyn closed her eyes embarrassed, she didn't know what to say. Of all days, of all outfits. She was screwed.
