Chapter 94 – Ticklish Moments

"Where are Mom and Dad?" Alex said, looking around the living room.

"They must be in the garden. It's their tea time." Emily smiled and grabbed Alex's hand before taking him towards the garden.

"You guys are here, and we—" as Emily entered the garden, she said, but as she saw there were two more people beside her mom and dad, she shut up. To her surprise, they were none other than Alex's mom and dad—Sarah and John.

Alex, who also saw them, was overjoyed. It had been a month since he had last seen them. Although he talked to them on the phone and saw them on the video call, seeing them in real life after so many days made Alex so happy.

Alex quickly walked to them and hugged his dad tightly.

"You seem to have missed me so much," John said as he hugged Alex back.

"Yeah, I missed you a lot." Alex said as he retreated from his dad and smiled at him.

He looked at his mom and went to give her a hug, too.

"Did you forget that you have another home too? Why didn't you come to visit us?" Sarah asked Alex as she hugged him back.

"I wanted to come, but there was a little work to finish. After I finished it, I was going to come to meet both of you." Alex smiled.

Emily, too, took steps towards Sarah and greeted her.

"Hello, mam. How are you?" She smiled.

Sarah suddenly pulled Emily by the hand and wrapped her arms around her. "Don't you want to hug your mom?" Sarah spoke, her voice a little shaky.

Emily was surprised to hear the word 'mom' from Sarah. She always thought about whether Alex's mom would ever accept her, but hearing that word from her now made Emily wonder if she was imagining things because she couldn't get them in real life.

"Ah, I'm alright, mam." Emily smiled and, confused, hugged Sarah back.

"Why are you still calling me ma'am?" Sarah asked as she took a step back from Emily. "You can call me mom now."

Emily's eyes widened. She looked at Alex in confusion, as if asking him if what she heard was true or not.

Alex nodded and smiled at her. "I think she has accepted you," Alex shrugged and said.

Emily looked at Sarah with a surprised look on her face. "Really?" she asked.

Sarah smiled and hugged Emily once again. "I'm sorry for what I did to you and Alex a month ago. But it was important, so I could clear my doubts. I didn't want to always doubt you."

Ria smiled upon hearing that. Emily and Alex had told her and Freddy everything about why they came there and what happened. Ria was happy that Alex's parents had finally accepted their love.

After hugging Sarah, Emily went to greet John.

"Should I call you dad or uncle?" Emily asked, smiling lightly. She was a bit nervous, as if she were there for the interview, and John's yes or no would be the final decision.

"You can call me dad. I have already accepted you as my daughter-in-law long ago." John said, smiling at Emily.

Emily was so happy to hear that. Today was the best day of her life. She knew that although Alex didn't show it, he always missed his mom and dad, and now that they were there, it was making her feel so relieved. She knew he left them because of her. Now that they accepted their relationship, she didn't need to feel guilty anymore.

After a while, they all sat down, and Alex went inside the house to bring two more chairs. He placed one for Emily to sit on, and on the other he sat himself.

"I have made tea for you two, too. It's in the teapot. Heat it up and Quickly come back." Ria said to Emily.

"Okay." Emily nodded and went to the kitchen before coming back with two cups of tea.

She placed one cup in front of Alex and one for her on the table. She once again sat in her chair before starting the conversation.

"So when did you two come? I didn't see both of you when we came back to the house earlier." Emily said, taking a sip of the tea.

"That's because you two were so busy with each other that you didn't even look around." Freddy said, smiling.

"Don't say that, Freddy." Emily said, and Freddy smiled even more.

"How many times have I told you not to call me by my name in front of others? Give me some respect." Freddy said, but he knew Emily was never going to listen to him.

"Okay, Freddy, I will try it in the future." Emily said, and everybody started laughing.

***

Alex and Emily were lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. There was a small smile on her lips, and Alex looked happy too.

Sarah and John had already left, as it was still bright outside. If John didn't have an important meeting, they wanted to stay there for a few days. But then they thought they could come there again, but the meeting was important.

"I'm so happy that mom and dad came to visit us." Emily said as she turned to Alex and hugged him.

Alex also turned to Emily and wrapped his arm around her.

"Yeah, me too." Alex lightly stroked Emily's head.

"I'm happy that everything is fine now. Now I don't have to worry about anything. I can live my life peacefully." Alex smiled to himself.

"Your life wasn't peaceful before." Emily looked at Alex and asked.

"It's not like that." Alex pinched Emily's nose lovingly and continued, "I'm just more at peace now than before. I feel better that now nobody is hurt any more because of me."

Emily nodded, understanding what Alex meant.

Emily raised her hand and touched Alex's cheek as she said, "From now on, if you don't feel good, even a little, you have to tell me. You can't hide anything from me. I tell you everything; you should tell me everything too. You aren't allowed to feel pain and sadness all by yourself."

Alex smiled and leaned closer to Emily before placing a kiss on her lips.

"Why are you so nice to me? Do I even deserve someone like you?" Alex asked, looking at Emily.

"You deserve it; that's why I'm here, you idiot. And you can't deserve anyone else, and that's why I'm here." Emily smiled.

Alex smiled back and nuzzled his face into Emily's neck.

"What are you doing? You are tickling me." Emily laughed.

But Alex didn't move away and stayed there while hugging her tightly.
