Chapter 93: Dangerous Whispers
ROSEMARY
The texter’s latest message had refused to leave me alone. I had tried endlessly to kick the thought out of my mind till I finally gave up.
"Julian's secrets run far deeper than you know. You know he's lying to you."
I had stared at those words for hours, the screen burning into my retinas like they were a brand.
It was two weeks left on the contract, and someone out there was feeding me fragments of a truth that I both craved and feared. I could not keep carrying it in silence. Not anymore.
I found Julian in the living room that evening, standing by the windows with a glass of whiskey in his hand, the city lights casting long shadows across his tense shoulders.
He looked like a man carrying the weight of empires on his back ... and perhaps he was.
“I have been receiving messages,” I said without preamble, my voice steady but edged with exhaustion.
"From someone who claims to know your secrets. The person says that you are lying to me. That your secrets run far deeper than I can imagine.”
Julian turned slowly, the glass freezing halfway to his lips. His face remained carefully composed, but I saw the flicker of what seemed like fear or anxiety in his eyes - raw, unguarded - for just a moment.
“Rosemary…” he started, setting the glass down.
“No Julian.” I stepped closer, my arms crossed tightly over my chest.
"I am done with the deflections. This person knows things. They have been feeding me information about you. About us. This person definitely knows too much. And now I am telling you - I’m not the only one who has a scandal of dirty secrets hanging over my head anymore. Someone out there is watching you too.”
He reached for me, but I stepped back, the distance between us feeling like a chasm. His hand fell to his side, his fingers curling into a fist.
“I swear to God that I am handling it,” he said, his voice low and rough.
“There are just sensitive things that I need to fix before I can lay them at your feet. Please, Rosemary. I know it may not make sense to you now, but just trust me a little longer.”
The words landed like stones in still water.
I wanted to believe him. God, I wanted to.
But the texter’s warnings had planted seeds of doubt that were blooming into flowers that were highly poisonous.
JULIAN
Her words hit me harder than any of Mario’s threats ever could have.
Someone was feeding her information. Someone knew about the documents. But how was that possible, I thought to myself? How could anyone know about the signed clauses?
The leverage I had been hiding like a live grenade suddenly felt less devastating.
I tried to deflect, to pull her close, to drown the moment in the heat that still crackled between us. But she held her ground, her eyes blazing with a mixture of hurt and determination that made my chest ache.
My phone buzzed in my pocket. I glanced at it discreetly.
The other texter - the one sending me evidence of her past as Scarlet - had replied to my earlier message:
"Who I am is unimportant. What is important is that you open your eyes to who your wife really is. Are they open now, Julian? Are they?"
I typed back quickly, my heart pounding:
"What exactly do you want from this? What are you getting out of this?"
No immediate reply came.
But the game was shifting. Two players were in the shadows now - one feeding her my secrets whole another one was feeding me hers.
And with only two weeks left, the secrets were starting to devour us from the inside.
NYRA
Earlier that day, Justin had cornered me in one of the private executive bathrooms at Laurent Tower.
“You’ve been teasing me for days,” he growled, pressing me against the sink, his hard cock grinding against my ass through our clothes.
“I can’t take it anymore, Nyra.”
I was soaked. The filthy words he had been whispering to me all morning while I playfully protested - about how he wanted to bend me over my desk, how he wanted to fill me up, how he wanted to hear me scream his name - had finally broken me.
“Five minutes,” I gasped, yanking his belt open.
“That’s all you get.”
He freed his long, thick cock - the first time I was seeing it in full glory. My mouth watered. I kept my gaze on him and dropped to my knees before I took him in deep, sucking him with desperate hunger.
Justin groaned, his fingers grabbing my hair, whispering filthy praise as I worked him.
When he was close and almost whimpering, I stood up, turned around, and bent over the sink.
“Fuck me,” I demanded. “Hard.”
He slammed into me in one thrust, stretching me perfectly. He fucked me fast and deep, one hand over my mouth to muffle my moans while the other stayed rubbing my clit. I came hard around him, and he followed moments later, pulling out of me in time to empty himself on the back of my legs.
We barely had time to clean up before someone knocked on the door and we had to step out at separate times to avoid any suspicion.
It felt like something I wanted to happen again.
ROSEMARY
That night, as I lay in bed alone, the texter sent another message:
"Julian's secrets are not just business related. He has other women. Other interests. He doesn't really like you for you."
I typed back with shaking fingers:
"Who is this? Tell me who you are and then maybe I would take your messages seriously."
The reply came almost immediately:
"Someone who doesn’t want to see you destroyed by a Dale."
My heart pounded.
The walls were closing in.
And I was starting to wonder if there was anyone left that I could truly trust.
