Chapter 87: Naked In His Brother's Bed
Celia POV
The silk sheets clung to my sweat-dampened skin as I lay there, listening to Ethan's ragged breathing beside me. My heart was still racing, but not from the physical exhaustion, but from the intoxicating rush of finally taking control of my own destiny.
For months, I'd been the perfect Kane wife. Beautiful, charming, completely invisible to my own husband. Damien barely looked at me anymore, too consumed with his precious business empire and now, apparently, his obsession with my foster sister. Celeste. Even her name made my jaw clench with barely suppressed anger.
But tonight had changed everything.
I pressed my hand to my flat stomach, hope blooming in my chest like a poisonous flower. Maybe this time it would work. Maybe Ethan's seed would take root where Damien's never had. A Kane heir growing inside me, it didn't matter which brother had planted it. What mattered was securing my place in this family permanently.
The Kane name carried power, wealth, and influence that stretched across continents, it would protect me from Nathaniel Pierce. I'd married into it, but I'd never truly belonged. Not like Damien belonged. Not like even Ethan, for all his flaws, he belonged by blood.
But a pregnancy would change that. A child would make me untouchable.
The sharp knock at the front door shattered my scheming thoughts. Ethan tensed beside me, and I felt my blood turn to ice water in my veins.
"Ethan!" The voice called from outside, and my worst fears seemed confirmed. "I know you're in there!"
Damien. My husband was here, and I was naked in his brother's bed, still warm from another man's touch. The irony wasn't lost on me my first time in bed with his brother, and I was about to be caught red-handed.
"Oh God," I whispered, scrambling for the bedsheet and wrapping it around myself. "Ethan, what do we do?"
But Ethan was already pulling on his jeans, his expression shifting from post-sex satisfaction to something harder, more calculating. "Stay here. Don't make a sound."
I huddled in the corner of the bedroom, clutching the sheet to my chest as Ethan padded downstairs. My heart hammered so loudly I was sure it could be heard through the walls. This was it. My marriage was over. My place in the Kane family, my security, my future all of it destroyed by one night of reckless passion.
But then I heard voices, and confusion replaced panic.
"Father?" Ethan's voice carried up the stairs, surprised and wary.
Father. Not Damien. Richard Kane.
I crept closer to the bedroom door, straining to hear the conversation below.
"What the hell have you done now?" Richard's voice was ice-cold fury. "Kidnapping innocent women? Have you lost what little mind you had left?"
"It was a mistake"
"A mistake?" The sound of Richard's hand connecting with something—probably Ethan's already bruised face made me wince. "You've brought unwanted attention to this family. The police, the media, and that girl's sister asking questions. Do you have any idea what you've risked?"
"I can handle it"
"You can't handle anything!" Richard's voice rose to a roar. "You're weak, pathetic, a disappointment in every possible way. Your brother would never have been so careless, so stupid—"
"Don't you dare compare me to Damien!"
"Why not? He's everything you'll never be. Intelligent, controlled, worthy of the Kane name. While you... you're nothing but a liability."
The words hung in the air like poison. I could practically feel Ethan's rage radiating through the floorboards, could imagine his hands clenching into fists as his father destroyed what little pride he had left.
Richard's phone rang, cutting through the tension. "We'll finish this conversation later. Clean up your mess, Ethan. All of it. And if you bring any more shame to this family..."
He didn't finish the threat, but he didn't need to. The front door slammed with enough force to rattle the windows, leaving silence in its wake.
For a moment, nothing happened. Then I heard the sound of breaking glass, followed by Ethan's roar of frustrated rage. More crashes, the sound of furniture being overturned, expensive things being destroyed in a fit of impotent fury.
This was my moment. I didn't care what he had done.Kidnapping.I've met worser men.
I dropped the sheet and padded downstairs, finding Ethan in his living room surrounded by destruction. A crystal decanter lay shattered against the wall, amber liquid staining the white marble. He stood in the center of it all, chest heaving, his hands bleeding from cuts he didn't seem to notice.
"Ethan," I said softly.
He spun around, and the look in his eyes was pure, undiluted pain. The kind that came from a lifetime of being compared to someone better, someone stronger, someone more worthy of love.
I knew that look. I'd seen it in my own mirror often enough.
"I'm nothing," he said, his voice broken. "He's right. I'm nothing compared to Damien."
"No," I moved closer, letting him see every inch of bare skin, every curve that had driven him wild just an hour ago. "You're not nothing. Not to me."
His eyes tracked my movement, hunger replacing despair. "Celia..."
I reached him, pressed my naked body against his clothed one, and felt him respond immediately despite everything. "You're a Kane," I whispered against his ear. "You're powerful, dangerous, everything I want."
My hands found the button of his jeans, and he didn't stop me as I freed him from the denim. He was already hard, ready, his body betraying his emotional state.
"Let me show you how much you matter," I breathed, pushing him back onto the couch that had survived his rampage.
This time was different from our first encounter. This time, I was in control. I straddled him, positioning myself exactly where I needed to be, and sank down onto him with deliberate slowness. He groaned, his hands gripping my hips, but I set the pace.
Slow, deep, Intense. Every movement was designed to drive him closer to the edge, to make him lose himself completely in the heat between us. I watched his face as I moved, saw the moment his control shattered, felt the exact instant when rational thought fled and only desperate need remained.
"Celia," he gasped, trying to lift me off him, some part of his mind still functioning. "We should"
"Shh," I silenced him with a kiss, never breaking the rhythm I'd established. "Don't think. Just feel."
I rode him harder, faster, using every trick I'd learned to drive him beyond the point of reasonable thought. This was about more than revenge now, more than just getting back at Damien for his neglect. This was about survival, about securing my future in the only way I knew how.
When he finally came beneath me, crying out my name like a prayer, I made sure to stay exactly where I was, my body claiming every drop of cum he offered. No barriers, no protection, nothing but flesh and possibility and the desperate hope that this time, this moment, would give me everything I'd ever wanted. A Kane Child
The Kane family thought they were players in some grand game of power and manipulation. They had no idea that the real player had been sitting at their dinner table for years, smile perfect and secrets hidden, waiting for the right moment to make her move.
Well, I'd made my move. Now it was time to see if it would pay off.
As Ethan collapsed beneath me, spent and vulnerable, I smiled. This family was twisted, dangerous, and willing to destroy anyone who got in their way.
Perfect. I'd learned from the best. Now I'd show them exactly how well I could play their game.
