Chapter Twenty-Three

After swallowing some period pain pills, we were finally on our way to meet the doctor at a restaurant where we would have lunch just to talk about everything. Nate quickly made a quick stop at his apartment to shower and change into new clothes. He gave me this look of warning when he told me to stay in the car whilst he did exactly that. If he thought I was going to drive his car again without telling him he thought wrong.

I don't need any more punishing from him after last night and this morning. there's only so much a girl can take with a man like Nate.

Soon he exited his apartment with a new attire. He looked more comfortable in jeans and a black jumper over his signature white shirt. I've seen his wardrobe and it is full of them.

We pulled up to the restaurant and walked in, I just followed Nate in since I didn't know what the doctor looked like, luckily Nate did so it wasn't that awkward moment of having to ask a member of staff who he was.

When we spotted him, he quickly waved us over to which Nate grabbed my hand and started walking over. The doctor wasn't young nor was he old, I would say he was in his late forties.

"This is my fiancé, Loretta" Nate spoke, I never get tired of hearing that.

"It's lovely to finally meet the woman of our discussions" he says which makes us all laugh. Nate pulls out my chair.

"I'm sure you're itching to find out of the possibility Loretta," he starts off by saying. Getting straight to the point, which I am thankful for.

I nod my head eagerly. "Nate only told me briefly after we talked about him going behind my back," I say giving Nate I side wards glance which makes him lift his hands up in surrender.

"Don't be angry at him. I thought it was very thoughtful. I'm sure it was a lovely surprise," the doctor, who I now know as Jerome, says. Thank you, doctor, now Nate's ego is going to be 10 times bigger than it originally was.

Jerome could see the annoyance on Nate's face at the amount of chit chat we were doing, he looked anxious, but I was loving it.

"The possibility of you two having children is very likely but for that to happen you would need extra help from a prescription that I would give you when you're thinking about giving it a try" I know what he's saying, but that won't be a problem. Nate is always up for some action, this morning just proved it.

I'm starting to think he only gave me that tea just so, later, he would be able to satisfy his own needs.

I want to prescribe you with some tablets which you will take every month just to help with the cycle" I kind of already knew that was what he wanted to do, and I have no problem with it at all.

"That's fine with me, I'm just happy that we can have our own children,” I say smiling up at him. Nate places his arms around my waist and kissing my forehead.

"I know, there nothing like having your own, I know that for a fact," he says. The lunch was served, and we continued to talk about his own children and future plans. I could tell this doctor would become a friend of ours.

-

Nate's busy schedule has been making it hard to plan the wedding, we were both involved in every aspect of it however Nate has had many meetings to attend, and he's had to travel to France to meet with a board of directors.

During our first meeting we already decided on the venue for our wedding. I had originally thought that I wanted to wait and not rush the wedding but now as we speak about it, I can't help but be excited. Waiting for the moment I am the wife of Nate.

We planned to have the wedding in a few weeks since you could say we were eager. My mum is very excited she hasn't stopped ranting and bragging to her friends about the wedding.

"Do you know how hard it is to find a man like me darling? Okay well maybe don't answer that," I hear George's voice say as two figures make their way into the hotel.

George and Tammy have been busy, and I haven't had much time to see them.

Tammy is my maid of honor, so it's about time she spent time with me and made my life easier since Nate is absent, not deliberately of course.

"I swear you guys are the most annoying couple," I sigh handing them a glass of cold lemonade I just made. The hotel’s garden has been blossoming and we've had some beautiful lemons. I thought I'd make some lemonade for the incoming guests.

"Why is your dad stressing out in the lobby?" Tammy asks coming to stand next to me. Tammy has a nice floral summer dress that suits the season. Sad that she's so pale; it's like she can't tan.

"Oh right, he's supposedly writing his big speech." I know it's quite early since it's about five weeks until our wedding, but he said he needs to be prepared. Since its Nate we're likely going to have a lot of popular people at the reception.

We agreed to have the ceremony in a church and to keep it quite private, we opened the reception to a lot of other people that know Nate well.

"Oh man I'm looking forward to that, it's going to be hilarious" I look up at him and so does Tammy.

"Aren't you the best man, "I ask him, I swear he must do a speech too.

"Yes, I am," he replies, not a pinch of nervousness at all. "My job is to make Nate look good." I rolled my eyes at his comment, I hate to break it to you George, but he doesn't need anyone else for that.

Before Tammy could tell him, I hold up my finger to her stopping her momentarily. I dial Nate's number and place it on the table. Nate's voice calls from the other side.

"Loretta, everything okay darling" My heart fills with pride at his calming voice. Only recently has he been calling me darling, and it sounds so nice.

"Since George is your best man," I start off. George runs over listening closely to the call. Nate chuckles deeply before he speaks up.

"I wouldn't say best," he says, which causes George to roll his eyes.

"Is George speaking at the reception?" I ask. There's a moment of silence before Nate gives me the answer I wanted.

"Yes, sorry man but you're doing it." Tammy and I high fived as we watched George curse before grabbing my phone and walking off into another room.

"Poor baby" Tammy coos watching her husband walking off in a strop. George is going to hate speaking; we were probably going to be laughing at him not with him.

"I'm definitely going to enjoy him in pain" Tammy adds when we see him disappear from sight.

"you're an evil human being," I say shaking my head at her antics. we walk into the lobby and dad seems to have given up for today since he's now at the lobby talking to one of the people at the desk.

"I can't believe you're going to be married and to Nate as well. "Tammy says suddenly, her eyes stare back at mine. "Please don't get emotional Tammy "I start to see the water in her eyes. Is she hormonal or something she was laughing a minute ago?

"I'm not I'm just so happy for you "she wraps her arms around me, she makes sure to squeeze me just for that added affect.

It was nice to be back at the Nevada for a while, sad that Eaton wasn't around, missed my little bro so much. He is starting to turn into smaller version of my father, and he has adopted the famous smirk of my fiancé, which doesn't sit well with me.

Remind me to not leave those two alone with each other.

"Loretta Nate is here" George calls out to me as I'm packing my bags away and clearing the mess I've made.

He's early, I wasn't expecting him to be here until later tonight.

Saying a quick bye to everyone I rush out the doors and practically run over to the big SUV that has a fine Nathaniel standing, leaning against it.

He's changed out of his work clothes and for a change looks quite casual. I'm starting to really like this casual style.

"Hello" he greets me as I practically throw myself at him. Yes, I missed him a lot. It's been rather lonely since he left.

"I missed you," I say into his shoulder. He lifts me up slightly and takes my bag from me before shoving it into the car and then turning back to me. I stand there not knowing what to do.

Unfortunately, there were cameras getting closer, so we had to get into the car quickly before any shots were taken. As soon as we got into the car Nate's driver sped off quickly which made us both sigh with relief. It's hard being in the medias path all the time but it comes with the package.

I know that so I should probably stop complaining.

"How has your day been?" I ask him, scooting over to the point where he just grabbed my hips and placed me on his lap. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's missed the other.

"Annoying, my marketing team were slacking this month, I haven't been able to get any marketing materials out for the benefit concert tonight," he says placing a kiss on my neck.

I try to stay focused on our conversation, but he's making it really hard.

"So, what is your plan? What are we going to do next?" I say moving slightly on his lap so I can get comfortable. Nates kisses stop for a moment, and I can see the smirk on his face.

What now.

Did I wake up the monster?

"We? I don't remember you being my co manager in this." I know he's only joking but does he really expect me to just leave it to him. I don't know how he thinks things are going to go down from now on.

But his work is mine too. We're going to be partners in life, and I want it to stay that way for everything we do.

"You do realize that I have a degree in marketing communications right, and I am in charge of marketing for the hotel?" I watch Nate's face still for a minute before he smiles.

"I actually forgot, sorry darling," he says kissing my forehead. Is that his apology. How could he forget my job, we've worked together on projects? I find it hard to believe that it's slipped from his mind.

"You can't stay mad at me. I've waited hours for this," he mumbles into my hair. I swear he just sniffed my hair.

"I could do it," I say. I hadn't even decided yet, but I guess my mouth couldn't wait. Nate turns to me facing me full on. His eyebrows crease together.

"As in do the marketing for it?" I nodded.

"Yes, it shouldn't be that hard, I just think your staff need someone to take control" I say like it's nothing. I did marketing for three years I am more than capable of marketing a concert. When it's for a good cause I will be motivated to get it done.

"If you're sure, we have only two days until the concert" He reminds me.

"Have I told you how amazing you are?" Nate says pushing me back onto his chest. I sink into his body and nod my head. "Not enough times," I say playing around a little.

"Is that so?" He quirks his eyebrow up at me. I hum in response, wanting him to show me just how amazing I am.

Nate had to break away because his phone started to ring, and I took this as an opportunity to tell the driver something.

"Are you sure miss? Is Nate in on this plan?" the driver asks, peering back at his boss. Looking for confirmation, but I move my head to block him from looking at Nate.

"Yes, I wouldn't put you in such a position," I say with my most innocent look I can possibly muster.

"Again," William adds with a slight smile on his face. I think back to the other time and giggle at the imagery I have of being dressed in very minimal clothing.

Jealous Loretta is a woman of the past. I can keep convincing myself that, but we all know she'll keep coming back when needed. Especially when Nate is my husband.

I got out the car before Nate could argue about being back at his office. He can moan all he wants but we've got work to do.

"Loretta," his deep voice calls out as I walk towards his building. Nate's driver shakes his head at me, but I caught the smile he was trying to hide. Nate grunted as he reluctantly followed me inside.

It's safe to say, I managed to turn Nate's office into a war zone. I've never seen his office this messy which is saying something.

We spent the next Day working through the marketing for the concert and I tried to not disturb his staff, but we eventually had to call in his staff from their offices because some things needed the extra pair of hands.

I made sure to apologize for disrupting their initial duties by having boxes of pizza on the table as they walked into the lobby. Bless the poor souls they didn't want to take anything, scared at what their boss may believe. I had noticed that Nate was strict on his employees, but they respected him. The dynamic in his office was nothing like I had ever seen.

"What do you do to them Nate? They're fucking scared to pick up a slice." Nate shrugs his shoulders not saying anything.

"They have food from home. They're probably wondering why suddenly after 2 years I've got food and drinks laid out for them to take."

I can't believe he hasn't done this before. Surely, he knows they will be more motivated right.

Nate and I have been working for hours now and as much as I want to get this done, I'm exhausted. And I can see Nate is too, luckily the employees have taken over and are managing everything now, were just here to make sure everything gets done.

"I want security immaculate; I am trusting your agency to protect everything at this event" Nate speaks through his phone. When Nate finally hangs up his phone, I walk over to him and lay my head on his back. His hands lay out on the desk and I can tell he is very stressed about this concert.

"You have the best security team Nate, it'll be fine" I whisper to him. He takes a few deep breaths before turning around and pulling me in between his legs.

"I just don't want anything going wrong," he replies. I can feel his heart pumping against his chest as he breathes deeply.

"I know but all we can do is make sure we have planned well and that we are ready for anything." I run my fingers through his hair releasing some of the stress he has built within him.

"Have I told you you're amazing?" he says. I smile to which he does too.

"Not nearly enough times," I whisper again, thinking back to earlier in the car. Nate turns and grabs my hips and squeezes it before kissing me lightly on the forehead. We had to break apart when his assistant came into the office after knocking of course.

"We're ready for you sir, everything is done, thank" she says with her tablet in her hand. When I look at her, I notice the crumbs just at the corner of her mouth.

I smile as Nate grabs a tissue from his box on the table and hand it to her.

"Thank you I'll be there in a minute "she blushes probably from the embarrassment of her boss seeing her with crumbs at the corner of her mouth.

When she looks at me, she opens her mouth about to say something, but I stop her before she says anything. "If you call me anything but my name." I laugh out loud. Nate chuckles too.

She coughs before opening her mouth again. "We wanted to say thank you for the food. We've left a few bits for you since we haven't seen you eat anything, Loretta."

when she mentions that, my stomach rumbles and I can see the smile on her lips.

"Thank you, I could really do with something I feel like I haven't eaten in days" I rub my stomach for extra effect, not like it needed it anyway.

We all walk out of the office together, whilst they both head to the conference room I head straight for the food table. As she said there's a few pieces left, just for me. How sweet of them.

I sit on the table and enjoy the taste of the neighboring restaurants goods. I didn't realize people were staring at me weirdly until a cough interrupted my moment of bliss.

"What?" I exclaim when I see Nate looking at me in disapproval. He walks up to me grabbing my slice and shoving it in his mouth.

"Learn to share, now feet off my table" he grabs my ankles and shoves them to the side.

I catch the smirk but I'm not even slightly amused. "Yeah whatever" I dismiss his actions, if he wants any action later, he better behave himself.

He turns around to his employees who are standing around. "Thank you for coming, we're done for now but feel free attend the concert if you would like to" the surprised faces were a sight to see for me.

Aw, I'm rubbing off on him. Not literally of course. Although I'm not opposed to it.

We made our way over to the concert hall in the arts and media building. It still amazes me how this is all Nate's work. The concert was amazing the crowd was phenomenal and luckily there were no problems at all which put both mine and Nate's minds at ease.

Nate reaches down and grabs my hand, intertwining his fingers with mine and pulling me out of the building.

When we reach the elevator to the car park, Nate holds my chin with his fingers and pulls my face closer to his. He rubs the corner of my mouth. "you're as messy as her when you eat darling" he says. I lick my lip tasting the tomato sauce left on my lips.

I managed to have some more food that they were giving out for free.

Nate soon grabs a hold of my neck and pulls my face towards him. He places his lips on mine moving them gently against mine. I'm pretty sure he's been waiting to do this all night.

Currently, its 2 in the morning and even though we were both tired we can't help but have a quick kiss since we haven't managed to most of the day.

The elevator dings and we arrive at the car park, we walk out and head over to his car. I'm hoping we get to go to the apartment and sleep. Because I'm more than tired right now.

Nate drives us through the city and heads for his apartment probably because his is the closest so that means we can sleep sooner than we thought.

When Nate is this tired and stressed, I really don't want him driving for so long. See how much of a caring fiancé I am.

We practically stumbled into his apartment and couldn't wait to get to bed.

I couldn't be bothered to remove my clothes, so Nate did it for me, being the gentleman, he is and all. We laid down on his bed and I struggled to keep my eyes open. He pulled me into his chest and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Seriously Nate" I moan when I feel him pressing himself into me. How can he be hard right now I'm literally lying-in bed with baggy pajamas on?

"At least you know you still turn me on darling," he says. Smug bastard. I just make it worse for him as I press my ass further into him.

"don't do that if you want to sleep Loretta, I'm warning you" I'm shaking in fear.

I find it quite amusing, but I should probably stop since I am really tired.

"Good girl" he mumbles before slapping my ass lightly before placing his head in the crook of my neck. Finally closing his eyes after the stressful day, we both had.
