Chapter 30

One week later…

In the week that has passed Emma and Akira had mended things. Though Akira was still a little hurt she still believed they could fix things over which was exactly what they were doing. This week had been tough on Samaira and Azrael, the business sure was blooming but that left them with a bit more work. Of course, they could hire people to help out more but when it came to the management part Azrael preferred to keep a few selected people in that section.

Yesterday the two barely saw each other, even during lunch. The only time they saw each other was when they both headed for bed. Today it was the same thing. Samaira had finished up her work and decided to head home. She was happy that this week was over and definitely needed to plan something with Azrael, even a simple at-home dinner date would do.

The brunette dropped her keys in the bowl and placed her work bag where it belongs, removing her water bottle and phone then walked to the bedroom. She threw her phone on the bed then sat down on the daybed, staring at herself in the mirror as she removed the pins from her hair that held back the stray curls then removed the claw clip, allowing her curls to fall down over her shoulders. Samaira let out a relieved sigh and ran her fingers through her hair and closed her eyes as she did so. Finally, she got up and stripped out all her clothes, and headed for the shower, playing some relaxing music in the background. The temperature of the water caused the glass to get foggy, but she didn’t care at all. She just stood there, allowing for the water to flow over her body.

She hadn’t a clue how long she was standing there but when she felt a pair of strong arms wrapping around her, she was startled and looked over to see Azrael. “Hey, babe,” He whispered and kissed her shoulder.

“You scared me, shit,” She sighed relieved, and relaxed her body in his hold.

“Sorry, I stopped early to surprise you, but you had already left the office,” He explained, kissing his way up to her neck and wrapped his hand around her throat, tipping her head back a little.

“At least you’re here now,” She turned around, her delicate hands sliding up his chest.

“Mhm, I am,” He smiled at her, gliding his hands down her sides, and pulled her into him, “I missed you, you know.”

“Yeah?” Samaira’s pointer finger traced down his abs, to his v-line. “How much, sir?” She asked sweetly, looking up at him with an innocent look on her face.

“Oh sweetheart, I think it’s better if I show you,” He caressed her face then pulled her in for a kiss.

“I think so too,” She muttered against his lips then embraced the sweet kiss. This was much better than the quick kisses they gave each other over the few days. She felt his hand on her back, the other moving down to her ass and squeezing her flesh in his hand causing her to whimper. She felt his warm tongue smoothly moving over hers, making her moan even more. Samaira had both her hands in his hair, holding him close to her, not wanting this to stop. She needed him and she needed him right now.

After their passionate time in the bathroom, they were both convinced this month’s water bill would be interesting but to them, it was totally worth it. Samaira and Azrael both got dressed and cuddled in bed, watching a movie whilst waiting for the food they ordered. The night was just perfect for them, as long as they got to spend it with each other they were happy.

The next morning Azrael woke up to the ringing of his phone. He groaned and tried to roll over but was weighed down by Samaira laying on his shoulder and her arm and leg draped over his body. Azrael smiled briefly before remembering the ringing phone and carefully reached over to grab the phone and picked up the phone without looking at who had been calling.

“Morning,” Azrael answered in his morning voice, sounding a little harsh.

“Good morning Azrael,” Ashley greeted through the phone, sounding perfectly fine.

“Oh mother,” He cleared his throat, his eyes opened up, and looked over at Samaira who was still asleep.

“How are you?” She asked, the sound of the blender in the back.

“Tired and you?” He yawned and rested his free hand on the leg that draped over his body.

“I’m fine. Is Samaira with you?” She wondered.

“She is,” He looked over at the brunette.

“Could you two come over in about two hours?” Ashley wondered.

“Is it for brunch?” Azrael wondered, noticing the time just then.

“That and I have a conversation to have with you two,” Ashley answered truthfully, however, the tone wasn’t a bad one. But when she had a conversation to have with you it could almost never be a pleasant one.

“Sounds good, I’ll see you later then,” He sighed and waited for her to say her goodbyes, “Of course, take care.” He ended the call and put his phone to the side and turned it over to Samaira.

“Good morning, sweetie,” he said sweetly, running his fingers through his hair.

“Mhm, I wanna sleep,” She whined and turned around, stuffing her face into the soft pillow.

“We have to meet my mom in two hours,” Azrael pouted, running his hand down the middle of her back.

“What for?” Samaira sighed, looking at him, her hair falling over her eyes which he then tucked behind her ear.

“Brunch and a conversation she wanted to have with us,” Azrael explained, sitting up which was difficult as Samaira had him stuck in a cuddling position.

“She had been rather loving these past few months, did we somehow screw up?” Samaira pouted, looking up at Azrael, her hand on his thigh, playing with the hair that grew on his skin.

“Hm, nope we didn’t sign any more contracts,” He joked and pulled her up into his lap.

“Ugh,” She whined, her body like putty when she got pulled up. “Come on, let’s go get ready,” Samaira sighed and got up.

“Together?” Azrael moved behind her, his hands already wrapped around her waist.

“No funny business, mister,” She warned, removing his hands from her body.

“Whyyyy?” He pouted and watched as she stripped out of the shirt of his she wore.

“My back still hurts, and my ass is still red,” She reminded him and glared at him.

“And beautiful,” He added, spanking her lightly.

“Azrael!” She yelped and poked him in the chest.

“I’m so not sorry, I wish I were,” He laughed and walked past her.

The two got ready even with a lot of messing around. They left the house on time and arrived at the house on time. They noticed Hailey and Deacon’s car, they never joined for lunch, correction they were never invited for those. They entered the house and did their formal greeting, Ashley jumped straight to the conversation.

“Remember when I found out about the contract and about Rae and Hendro?” She asked, the two looked at each other weirdly then looked at the woman in front of them.

“We do,” Azrael mumbled.

“I had never mentioned how exactly I did that and let Rae and Hendro believe you exposed them,” She reminded them, but they still knew.

“Yeah, you did,” Samaira said sourly, this was in the past and both she and Azrael had made peace with it and moved on.

“Sorry about that. It was Hailey, she told me everything even the pregnancy scare,” Ashley confessed, taking the two by surprise. Of course, it would make sense, Hailey was told everything.

“What?” Azrael couldn’t believe it; she was his childhood friend too along with Hendro.

“Oh yeah, Hailey here isn’t as sweet as I thought she was,” Ashley sighed, tracing the brim of the glass and looked over at Hailey who stood there awkwardly with Deacon not far from her.

“Hailey, why would you do that to us? We were friends,” Azrael asked, surprised, and frowning at the blonde.

“That’s exactly why, ‘friends’, who said I wanted just that?” She snarled, glaring at Samaira.

“Why are you even doing this? you never liked me,” He frowned, not to forget they were also like family. He saw her and Hendro more like siblings rather than friends.

“I did, I always did but you were my brother’s best friend, and I was also slightly underaged. By the time I had the legal age you had already started your bachelor's life. I made peace with it, and I was overly ok with you and Samaira because I always knew you were a player,” Hailey complained, her nails digging into her own skin as she got riled up with the words.

“Then why this now? Can’t you see it has no purpose,” He pointed out. It’s not like he’d break up with Samaira just for Hailey. He loved Samaira and he only saw the blonde as a friend.

“It does. Because I assumed you could never be this loving, so I was ok with you and Samaira but then things changed. You are actually capable of loving and settling down. and it should’ve been me, not her,” She spoke, stepping closer and closer to the two. Samaira was just quietly listening to everything that went down.

“I was close to getting my way but you two made it up stupidly, you chose her over the company,” Her fingers barely touched.

“So, what’s next? You’ll take this to the public? I’ll never like you in such a way, Hailey,” Azrael scoffed, looking over at Deacon knowing he must have something to do with this.

“That’s exactly what I’ll do, in fact, I have everything to show right here,” She pointed to the folder in her bag and had an evil grin on her face.

“You will do no such thing,” Ashley spoke up.

“What will you do to stop me, Ashley?” Hailey raised a brow at the woman then laughed.

“Why do you think I called Deacon here?” She asked, mimicking the smirk on her face.

“I don’t know,” Hailey frowned, looking at Deacon.

“Deacon, care to explain how your ‘golfing’ sessions have been going?” Ashley asked. She knew exactly what those golfing sessions were, it was his lie to meet up with Hailey.

“I-” He began to stutter and looked over at Hailey.

“You told her? You idiot!” Hailey screamed.

“Hailey, I didn’t, I swear,” Deacon said, stuttering between.

“You love her don’t you,” Ashley smiled, looking at the man, watching as he didn’t answer her and instead remained quiet.

“What? It was just for mere pleasure,” Hailey scoffed then realized that feeling wasn’t mutual.

“It’s not. Hailey, I feel serious about you,” Deacon stepped closer to Hailey and held onto her hand. “Lara’s infertile but you’re not, we can have everything,” he said, sounding quite delusional.

“Such a shame you brought upon us,” Ashley sighed, already knowing how her husband would feel about this.

“I never loved or liked you Deac, you were just to use for information,” Hailey told him, her face red.

“You two can fight things out away from my house. Right now, I have something to say. If you ever make those contracts see the day of light I will let it be known how you’re a homewrecker, this wouldn’t be the first time you went after a married man, correct, Hailey?” Ashley said, walking closer to the woman. Both Samaira and Azrael looked at each other, unsure whether they should be there or not.

“You bitch,” Hailey felt defenseless.

“Is that a ‘you agree and will burn those’?” Ashley asked with a slight smile on her lips. Hailey threw the last copy of the contract into the fireplace then stormed away, “I will be going, you, outside now! You ruined things!” She dragged Deacon with her.

“How did you find out about them?” Samaira looked over at Ashley, realizing she was for once on their side.

“Lara said he was acting weird, and I had him follow, then I connected the dots and figured something,” She answered, leading the way outside where their brunch was being set up.

“Why did you never say anything about Hailey?” Azrael wondered, taking a seat at the table after pulling a chair for Samaira.

“Because I deep down wanted you two to be together but now I see Samaira is the true one for you,” she said, looking at the couple.

“Oh,” Samaira mumbled, feeling Azrael’s hand over hers.

“I thought she was a sweet girl, but I should’ve known things weren’t right when she told me everything,” Ashley sighed and picked up her lemonade.

“How will dad react to this?” Azrael then asked the one question they were all thinking of.
