Chapter 125: Chapter 125

Aliyah’s POV

"You just have to sign here to make the discharge papers complete." One of the nurses directed me as I appended my signature while reading the content. Elara kept smiling. She was glad that after two weeks, we had only a few minutes left before leaving the hospital. Tracy and Hope came so early to help us pack things up.

The doctor made it compulsory for her to come for therapy and checkups, which I will make sure she attends. I can't risk her condition getting worse. I won't be able to forgive myself, also knowing that it was all my fault that she was in this condition. I gulped down a lump of saliva while I signed the last paper.

"I hope you take good care of her, Mrs. Moretti." The doctor said, and I bit my lips. I don't know why they all keep calling me Asher's last name. We are not even married yet. Asher's eyes brushed mine before I looked away. We haven't talked since what happened last night, and I wasn't ready to talk about it with him.

I didn't want to cause a scene right in front of Elara. I just let it pass.

"Thank you, doc. I will make sure she takes her drugs and comes for checkups and therapy."

The doctor shook hands with me.

"Mr. Moretti, you take care." He shook hands with Asher, too.

The paramedics walked out of the private ward.

Asher's guards took our things to his car. I held Elara's hand, and we walked out of the private ward happily.

"Are we going somewhere, mommy?" She asked.

"Why do you ask?"

Then she glanced down at her beautiful, pink gown.

"Because of this gown. It looks like a ball gown. Are we going to a birthday party?"

Tracy cleared her throat. "No, baby. I just thought it was a good thing that you were discharged, and I bought it to make you happy." I told her, and she hugged me the moment we got into the car.

We rode in Asher's car. I sat beside Asher in the front seat. Elara sat in the backseat. Tracy rode in her own car. Asher tried to talk to me, but I didn't allow it. I wasn't ready to fight in front of Elara. Today was supposed to be her happy day. I can't let him ruin it when Elara slept in the car on our way to his house. I took out my makeup bag to do my makeup.

I cleaned up my face first with a face wipe and applied it. He kept looking at me. I made myself pretty because of Elara's welcome party.

I didn't stare back at him. I suddenly felt his hand on my thighs. I looked at him and shifted my gaze to where he was touching me.

I yanked his hand away.

"I don't like this silent treatment. We need to talk things out. We-"

"Enough, Asher. I don't want to talk about her. I don't care who she is to you. I don't care if you are both in a relationship. Just make her stay away from my daughter and me." I said firmly, trying my best to lower my voice. I can't let Elara see that we were not okay.

"Please. You are hurting me."

Those words made me snap my gaze at him. "I am hurting you? You have some tenacity to say that to me. I was the one who got physically assaulted. She slapped me. She hurt me even when I wasn't the one who started everything. Now you are talking about who is hurting? Don't give me that bullshit." I blurted and rolled my eyes.

I didn't know what to believe at all. It's like the moment we try to be happy together, something is always hindering us. I don't get it.

Tears welled in his eyes, and I couldn't care less. It hurts, too, and I tried not to cry so that I wouldn't ruin my makeup. Whatever we have right now is what I will deal with, and my top priority is my daughter.

We arrived at Asher's house.

I still can't get over the fact that we will be living together in this huge house. It was three times as big as Papa's home—a mansion filled with different models of cars, a wide fountain in the middle. The garage was twice the size of my room back at Papa's home. Not like I haven't been to his home before, but the reason why I was here was different. I didn't have time to check around.

Tracy parked her car, and Hope stepped out to join Elara.

Asher had done a good job of making sure the surprise was pulled off. Papa, Cohen, Cynthia, and some other people from Papa's club and Asher's club.

I adjusted my dress before Asher led us in. We passed through the foyer, and I noticed every art frame on the wall and the flower vases. No pictures of him or his past families. It must have been painful for him.

The minute we stepped into the living room, Tracy shouted, "Surprise!" and the light came on. It was beautifully and wonderfully decorated. Pink and blue balloons everywhere. Foods, cakes, different packages, gifts, mascots, and cartoon characters. I found out that the party extended to the garden. The garden was where the real party was.

Elara’s classmates and class teacher were invited. I have never seen my daughter this happy. I pulled her into a hug. I bent to her height and kissed her cheek.

"All this for me? Thank you, mama. I love you, mama."

I smiled. "I love you too, baby."

Asher brought her up in his arms, too. Kissed her cheek. "Welcome back home, my love," Asher said.

Asher left her to play with her friends while I spoke with Tracy. "Have you guys talked about it yet?" She asked as we sat on the couch, watching the children play.

I shook my head, looking around for Papa. He was with Cynthia. Cohen was playing games with some other kids.

"I don't want us to fight. We shouldn't talk about it. Fighting won't take us anywhere. It will just make matters worse. We'd better leave it that way." I told her as one of the servers offered me a fruit juice, which I took.

I sipped.

"I know you will do what's best for Elara. And about Cohen? From here, he looked like a pure soul."

I smiled, knowing what she meant.

"He hasn't done anything bad to me; instead, he protects Elara and me. Asher still doesn't like him. They hate each other. He still finds it hard to see himself as part of my family. He is my twin." I swallowed.

Just as Tracy was about to talk, noises erupted from outside, overshadowing the soft music playing inside. Elara was the first person on my mind. I have to protect my daughter. Like Cohen knew what I was thinking, he hurriedly moved over to Elara's side and Papa too.

I went out and Tracy followed. On getting out, I saw the same woman that attacked me yesterday trying to break free from the guards.

Tatiana.

Asher tried to get her out.

"Why do you keep trying to shoot me out?" She screamed. "Don't you want me to spill our secrets?"

Secrets? What secrets?

I looked into Asher's eyes. "What secret is she talking about?"

I turned to the guards. "Leave her alone. Let her reveal the secrets."

They left her.

"We both had a one night stand five years ago and I got pregnant for him. I called him. He refused to believe me. I had a son. Our son."

The whole world stopped for a while.
