Chapter 81: The Witness

Sean Manning followed Luke, who was tidying up his clothes. Luke wants to avoid working under Matthew Bronckhorst's pressure. It was better for him to leave than to be the target of everyone who would blame him.

Sean arrives before Luke leaves. Luke then heard a knock on the front door. He frowned and stopped putting clothes into the suitcase. Luke listened to another knock on the door. He was starting to worry if Matthew Bronckhorst would come.

Luke hesitated as he walked to the door. He peeked and saw two people standing in front of him. His brow furrowed. He knows both of them. Luke opened the door after a while.

"Why is it taking so long?" said Evan Robert. His gaze was cold at Luke, who looked frightened. His eyes shifted from Evan to Calvin Robert. Both of them are twin brothers of one of the members of the Silver Moon pack. Both of them are Zetas who have been following the Bronckhorst family.

"What did you come here for?" Luke didn't answer and instead asked what they came for.

"We're here to see you." Calvin placed his palm on the door and then pushed it. Luke couldn't possibly fight both of them. They went in, and Luke let them. He closed the door without locking it.

From behind the wall, Sean watched. When he exited the elevator, Sean immediately hid himself after seeing two Zetas in front of Luke Damant's apartment. He peeked and heard their brief conversation. After Evan and Calvin came in, Luke came out. He walked towards the door, his left hand on it, and closed his eyes. He would eavesdrop for a moment on the three's conversation.

"Why don't you come to see us?" said Evan, starting a conversation with Luke. Luke couldn't avoid it, but he still had to find the right reason.

"I just got home and was going to meet you guys."

"Oh yes?" Calvin didn't seem to like the answer. He was sarcastic with his cold attitude.

"Yes. I'm speaking honestly. Excellor is having problems. I mean they didn't let us go home. I've already reported it to Mr. Bronckhorst."

Sean opened his eyes as he approached to see if Luke had mentioned the Bronckhorst family name. Now, he understood that someone within the Silver Moon Pack was involved. However, Sean didn't take his hand off the door. He needed to hear more.

"Are you trying to lie?" Calvin pointed at Luke with a sharp gaze that showed no mercy. Luke shook his head. His face was pale. He wouldn't be able to escape even if he ran away.

"Of course not. Why would I lie?" Luke refuted. He was uneasy and seemed very nervous. Evan can read Omega's mind like Luke. Luke didn't dare look Evan in the eye, or the Zeta would finish him.

"Why? Are you afraid that I will find out about your lies?" Evan scoffed sarcastically.

Luke rolled his eyes to see random things in the living room. He didn't dare to oppose them at all. Calvin was looking for something to add to his suspicion. He peeked into the bedroom. Luke instantly panicked.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Luke scolded when Calvin stepped into his bedroom. Luke also paced himself to get him, but Calvin was faster. Calvin judgementally chuckled once he saw a suitcase opened on Luke's bed. He sinisterly glanced at him like he was catching him redhandedly stealing something.

"Are you leaving, Mr. Damant?" he sneered at him. Evan also came to see then smirked winningly.

Luke was getting very anxious now. He couldn't spare more reasons to tell. They would never buy it anymore.

"I," he stuttered in nervousness.

"What? Are you going to run away?" Evan cornered him by stepping toward him. Luke was stepping backwards while hopelessly pleading with them. Calvin was going to turn into a beast and kill him mercilessly.

"No, I'm not! I swear I'm not!" Luke trembled in fear. He couldn't fight the Zeta. They were like special troops in the pack. The Zetas were trained to be ruthless hunters and killers. They would never spare any Omegas for life.

"Please," Luke pleaded when he had no choice.

His back knees hit the edge of the corner table, which made him stuck. He couldn't move or defend himself.

"You made a big mistake by lying to us, Mr. Damant." Evan insisted on his arrogance. Luke took a cable from behind a bed lamp and kept stepping forward. Luke noticed it, and his breath hitched louder.

"No. I don't do it, I swear," Calvin grabbed Luke's collar sweater and shoved him to the floor. Whilst Evan took the cable and strangled Luke's neck from behind. He was going to choke him to death. Calvin watched it with his eyes open and smirked winningly like a psychopath.

"Ugh," Luke tried to let go. The cable was going to kill him eventually when Evan pulled the string against his back. Luke's orbs popped out like he's almost run out of breath. Calvin leisurely watched how his brother assassinated an omega.

"You know, what? I would not burn your body, Damant. I would rather trash it to the river." Evan growled by adding more power to pull. The neck would be broken as Luke strangled. It was the end, but suddenly, the door shot.

Calvin was shocked and dashed to see. There's a bullet through the door. The shot made Evan let Luke Damant. Luke was faint due to the lack of oxygen, while Evan didn't check him. He instead ran to his brother, who wanted to check by opening the door.

"What's happening?" Evan asked.

"Someone shot the door." Calvin pointed at the hole in the door while he turned to his brother.

"Do not open it!" Evan ordered.

"But, the shot was from the outside!"

Calvin didn't listen to his brother anymore. He opened it to check. When he turned, another bullet pierced his chest. He threw it to the back, and it shocked Evan. Evan took his gun and wanted to check. He hid behind a wall and tried to peek but couldn't see anyone.

"What? "He breathed fast and got mad. His brother, Calvin, was lying on the floor, unmoved.

"Calv!" Evan shouted, yet Calvin still lay there.

Evan took his step by pointing his Glock to the right and left. He didn't see anyone at all. Meanwhile, Sean hid behind a corridor wall and sneaked at the elevator's glossy reflection. He could see Evan's shadow through the closed glossy door.

Sean let out shots when Evan turned to the left to check on his brother. He shot two times on his back. Evan deliberately fell on the floor in unconsciousness.

Coldly, Sean walked inside Luke's apartment to check on him. Luke was lying on the floor with a white cable on his shoulder through his neck. Sean scouted, then touched his neck. He checked his vital.

After making sure that the Omega was still alive, Sean took him. He put Luke on his shoulder, holding him like a sack. Sean ensured that Evan and Calvin didn't wake up except for a few hours. Sean sedated them with his special bullets. Now, he has to ensure that Everest has the whole new story behind Pearl's kidnapping.

At the same time, Bruce's wolves were looking for any traces of Pearl. They gathered a few people who had similar information. Pearl was grabbed by two men while walking on the pedestrian. They couldn't help because they disappeared quickly.

The report went straight to Bruce. Bruce was taking severe action against Pearl. He didn't want to see any confusion inside his pack. Taggart would make everything so tricky later.

"She was kidnapped."

Bruce sighed deeply to get the news like that from his men. He has to find a good solution to keep the plan.

"Find who did this!" Bruce demanded.

"It's going to be difficult, Alpha. Miss Rosenthal has become a friction inside our pack. Some wants her death."

"I understand. But you must find her soon. Anyone involved in this case, there would be consequences."

Bruce cut the call while thinking hard. He suspected Matthew Bronckhorst had a big deal about the kidnapping. Although he didn't communicate with his cousin, the Bronckhorst was still in the same pack. Matthew seemed to be quiet, and he should have been suspected. Bruce called his secretary to come. He would rely on a few commands to take.

"I want a full spy on The Bronckhorst, now." Bruce released the first order.

"Yes, Sir." The secretary wrote the command on her tab quickly.

"Second one, I want a full detail about John Rosenthal. What's he up to and his illness."

Keith took Briana out of their father's room to talk. He looked severe, and Briana suspected that something terrible happened.

"Pearl is missing. She's been kidnapped." Keith spoke first. Briana widened her eyes shockingly. Her breath came harder, and then she took her brother's arm.

"What did you say?" Keith nodded. He looked worried.

"I tried to find her to tell about dad but her phone was dead. Then I got to the Kellent but she's not there. Guess what, I came to see Taggart Kellent and he also looked for her."

"What?" Briana almost cried and covered her mouth, disbelieving in what had happened.

"Where is she?"

"I have no idea, Bri. Please do not speak about it to Daddy," Keith tried to cover the problem while their mother, Sandra, passed away.

"What happened?" They jolted in surprise and then nervously looked at Sandra. Briana was crying, and it made Sandra get more frown.
