Chapter 149: Unfiltered

Sienna

The moment my mother marched my Alpha away and Dad retreated into the kitchen to start his industrial-scale cooking spree, I turned on my heel and walked straight over to Dante, who hadn’t said a single word since we stepped off the elevator.

“Welcome back, Sienna. I am very glad that you are safe after the war in Regalia,” Ares said, her head resting comfortably on Theo’s shoulder. She offered me a warm, gentle smile.

I looked at her, softening my expression. “Thank you, Ares. My own brothers didn’t even think to ask about me being kidnapped and held hostage.”

“You know we were worried about you,” Theo said, raising an eyebrow from the corner of the sofa. “If you had only seen Dante while you were gone, you’d know.”

“Yeah, yeah. Whatever.”

“Men always show their worry through actions,” Ares commented softly, her eyes twinkling. “I am so happy for you and Alpha Sebastian. I heard that even when he was badly injured, he still came for you.”

“He did,” I murmured. “He really is the best.”

“Why?” Dante cut in dryly, leaning back against the cushions. “Is there a ring on your finger yet?”

I rolled my eyes at his predictable remark, sitting down right beside him. Before he could react, I reached over and pinched his side as hard as I could, making him jump instantly with a wince.

“Hey! You do know I’m still your Alpha, right?” he hissed, rubbing his ribs.

“You’re my brother first. And you’re the one who played me!”

He just gave me a smug smirk, entirely unrepentant. Theo glanced between the two of us, looking genuinely confused. “What is going on with you two?”

“Oh, should I tell them everything, little sister?” Dante teased, crossing his arms.

“You are so exhausting.”

“You see, our sister here has been through a lot in Regalia,” Dante began, adopting a dramatic tone.

“Yes, yes,” I interrupted casually, leaning back against the sofa. “I fucked Sebastian, we had a massive falling out, and then we made up by sleeping together again. Is that what you want to hear, brother?”

I wasn't about to be coy with them anymore. They were my family; if they wanted the unfiltered truth, I was more than happy to throw it right back in their faces—especially after surviving momzilla’s dramatic ambush.

Dante’s jaw instantly clenched, his smug expression wiping clean off his face. Beside him, Theo awkwardly shifted in his seat, clearing his throat, looking visibly uncomfortable listening to his sister talk about her sex life.

“Or would you like me to go into detail about how we actually did it?” I continued smoothly, turning to face Dante. “Because I am more than willing to elaborate for your ears.”

“Oh please, don’t!” Ares gasped, quickly clapping her hands over her ears with a flushed, conservative blush.

“Wasn’t Sebastian... kind of into play?” Theo asked reluctantly, his curiosity getting the better of his awkwardness.

“He was,” I said, nodding casually. “And let me tell you, being on the receiving end—”

“Fuck it, Sienna, fine!” Dante blurted out, cringing slightly as he held a hand up to block my words. “I’m sorry for making you feel completely on edge by pretending I told our parents everything when I actually didn't. Just stop talking.”

I turned to him and smiled sweetly, letting the quiet victory settle in. “That’s so nice of you, brother. Thank you so much for the apology.”

Dante shifted uncomfortably, clearly unnerved by how nonchalantly I had casually tossed that into the conversation.

I let out a long breath and melted into the deep cushions, leaning my weight against Dante’s broad shoulder. My gaze drifted toward the hallway where Mom had led Sebastian away.

“I wonder what’s going to happen to Sebastian,” I murmured.

“You know our mother,” Dante grunted, shifting his posture awkwardly. “She loves nothing more than putting the men of this family through absolute torture.”

I shook my head, pushing the thought aside before my imagination ran wild, and gave a casual shrug to brush off the lingering tension. “Well, Sebastian is stronger than you, Dante. I’m sure whatever she has planned is nothing for him.”

Dante snapped upright so fast I was forced to sit straight back up. “Sebastian is stronger than me? How would you even know that? We have practically the exact same build.”

“Almost is not the same as exact,” I countered, resting my chin on my hand. “Sebastian is stronger. End of story.”

Theo let out a low chuckle, relieved to be on safe ground again. “He does look a lot more athletic, Dante. To be fair, your muscles are mostly for display. Have you even shifted once this past week, or is your wolf just getting old?”

I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from bursting out laughing, but I kept my face strictly neutral. No matter how old my brothers got, or the fact that they were triplets, stepping on Dante’s pride was a competitive sport among them.

Dante’s jaw worked silently for a second, his eyes narrowing at Theo. “I’ve been itching for a spar lately. Care to indulge your Alpha, Theo?”

“You mean like the spar we had a few years ago?” Theo asked innocently, a smirk tugging at his lips. “I can still clearly remember your face pressed into the dirt.”

“I was distracted!”

I couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing. It was absurd how easily my brothers got riled up the second someone questioned who was the strongest among them.

Sebastian, on the other hand, wouldn't have cared less about a silly muscle-measuring contest. He didn't need to prove his strength to anyone; his presence alone said everything that needed to be said.

Ah. I really, truly loved him.

I cleared my throat, easing the conversation back to family. “Is Julian coming home at all?”

“Nope,” Dante grunted, still glaring at Theo. “He and Gaven did IVF, and they’re busy taking care of the surrogate right now.”

My jaw dropped. “What?! How come nobody told me?”

“You were in Regalia for weeks and then disappeared off to Bendis without checking in once,” Dante pointed out, raising an eyebrow at me. “What did you expect?”

“I’m sorry, okay?” I sighed, feeling a soft pang of guilt. “I was honestly trying to delay meeting our parents as long as humanly possible.”

Ares leaned forward across the coffee table, her eyes lighting up with genuine curiosity as she nudged the conversation forward. “How was the rest of your trip, Sienna?”

I could tell she wasn't actually asking about the scenery or the flight—she wanted to hear about Sebastian and where things stood between us.

I quieted down, my fingers absently tracing a seam on the sofa cushion. The playful mood faded slightly, replaced by the steady, overwhelming warmth that had been settling in my chest over the last few days.

“Something has actually been on my mind,” I admitted softly, looking up at them. “I was thinking about how much I love Sebastian... and I really want to ask him to mark me. But would that be moving too fast?”
