Chapter 60: Do You Want To Reject Me Now?

Late at night, a boat docked at the back door part of the mini-castle. Suddenly, Daina becomes restless. The familiar faint scent that is now invading her nostrils left her wondering if Alpha Brendan, her mate, returned to get her.

“Daina, can you hear me?” Alpha Branden’s voice all of a sudden pierce through Daina’s open mind. Her heart rises and intensifies the excitement she is feeling right now.

“I can hear you. Why did you come back?” she mind links him back.

“I wanted to know Daina if indeed the former Alpha’s Breeder has been executed already.”

Daina stiffens as she heard the reply of Alpha Branden through mind linking. Pain suddenly pierce through her heart. “I am your mate, but you came here not for me but for that woman?” she asked, with eyes squinting with jealousy.

“Pardon me Daina. Yes, you are my mate, but it was Andreitte whom I offered to be my Luna first. I also promised her that I will get her and save her from the Alpha King. So please tell me, is she still alive or is it true that she was executed already?” Alpha Branden’s tone was apologetic but worried at the same time.

“It is true. The gate’s head guard of this mini castle told the Queen of the Medean Kingdom in front of me that Andreitte was executed already by the Alpha King,” Daina said with still squinting eyes. Although, she is not sure yet about that information, but she wanted her mate to forget about Andreitte already.

Alpha Branden fell silent as he close his eyes tightly. He was not able to save Andreitte. He is an inutil Alpha who could not even save the woman, whom he promised to be saved from the Alpha King and be his chosen Luna. Andreitte is not his true mate, he knows it very well, and that is why he cannot feel in his heart her loss.

Having felt the sudden silence of her mate, Daina tries to call his attention again. “Alpha Branden, there will be a special occasion in the palace three days from now. You are an Alpha indeed, you should have been invited, and by then, you will know if indeed Andreitte has been executed. You can ask the Alpha King by yourself,” she said.

Alpha Branden breathes deeply before he mind links back Daina. “Daina, I was not able to tell you. I am the Alpha of the Rogue Island. I am the number one enemy of the Alpha King. I am definitely not invited to that occasion, you were telling me. But, thank you. At least you gave me an idea.”

Daina was so shocked after hearing what Alpha Branden had just said. “You mean, you are the Rogue Alpha?!”

“Yes. Now, do you still want me to be your mate, Daina or do you want to reject me now?” Alpha Branden suddenly asked in a very cold manner. He could feel the disappointment in Daina upon knowing that he is the Rogue Alpha.

It is Daina this time who fell silent for a while. After retrieving her proper senses, she mind links back to the Rogue Alpha. “I will think about it. I was invited to attend the occasion three days from now. I will make sure to know then if indeed Andreitte is dead. I will let you know. So, come here again on the third day.”

Alpha Branden takes a deep breath again. “Do you know what is that occasion all about and what time it will start?”

“The purpose of that occasion was not written in the invitation letter. It will start after the sun, sets in,” Daina replied.

“Alright. During the occasion, I will be nearby. Goodbye for now, Daina.” Thereafter, Daina was not able to hear the Rogue Alpha’s voice anymore. His scent starts to fade too.

Daina lay on her bed with a painful heart. “No matter who you are, I cannot reject you, Alpha Branden,” she murmured. "You are my mate Alpha Branden, rejecting you would mean so much pain or worst death of my heart," she added.

From the back of the mini castle, the boat of Alpha Branden speeds away, but the direction is not going to Rogue Island. Only the dim light of the crescent moon illumines their boat as it travels fast into the ocean.

Almost three hours thereafter Alpha Branden’s boat docks in the bay of the Medean Mountain. The Amazonian warriors guarding the bay nearby saw the coming of the boat.

The moment Alpha Branden and his men, including his Beta alighted from the boat the Amazonian guards are already in the bay with their rifles in their hands, pointing to the visitors they thought as intruders.

“Who are you and what are you doing in our Kingdom at this hour?” the head of the Amazonian guards asked in a loud voice.

Alpha Branden raises his hands up before he speaks loud enough to be heard by the Amazonian guards.

“I am Alpha Branden, an ally of the Medean Queen, Queen Erasma. We are here due to an urgent matter. Please tell your Queen that Alpha Branden of the Rogue Island arrived and wanted her presence,” Alpha Branden said.

One of the Amazonian guards immediately takes her handheld transceiver and talks to someone. Thereafter, she whispers something to the head guard.

“Please wait, Alpha Branden. The Queen herself will come here to meet you,” the head guard, thereafter said.

A few minutes passed and Queen Erasma arrives in Medean bay. Readily, she recognized Alpha Branden.

“Alpha Branden, I take that your concern is truly urgent for you to come here at this holy hour. Please follow me to the castle.”  The Medean Queen motions for the Rogue Alpha to follow her and the latter together with his men, follow her until they reach the castle.

When they are seated already inside the throne hall of the Medean Queen, Alpha Branden informed him of the upcoming occasion in the Alpha King’s palace, which is going to happen three days from now.

“The purpose of the occasion seemed to have been kept as a mystery by the Alpha King. I can smell something fishy with  that Queen Erasma.” Alpha Branden added to his information to the Queen.

The Medean Queen looks at the Rogue Alpha with a hint about what he wanted, nonetheless, she still asks to confirm. “What is your plan, Alpha Branden?”

“If you could help me, I want an act of revenge on the Alpha King for executing Andreitte. His evilness should not continue to prosper. The rule and tradition pertaining to having an Alpha’s Breeder should be removed already. It is degrading to women like you, Queen Erasma,” Alpha Branden replied using his last sentence as bait to ignite the anger of the Medean Queen against the Alpha King.

The Medean Queen squinted her eyes and keeps her silence for a while, while Alpha Branden awaits her reply with anticipation.
