Chapter 12: Chapter Eleven

He shut the door behind us and walked over to a petite red velvet sofa. "Sit" He patted it and I walked over, sitting down. He was already inside the wardrobe rummaging about before I could speak again. "I know you Clover" He paused, pulling out a suit and placing it on the railing before diving back inside. "You're different."

I crossed my arms over my chest in frustration. This man thought that he had me all figured out and knew me, well he was wrong. "You do?"

"Yes. I felt it." I let out an audible scoff at what he was saying, it was an obvious ploy to try and get me to beg him to sleep with me, I'm sure he has tried it on every girl to come in here, but I wasn't going to just lie down and roll over for him like a lap dog.

"I won't fall for that, you know. Just be up front and say what you want, like a man." My chest fell up and down with my heavy breaths, I was being very bold.

"You won't fall for it?" I could hear his dry chuckle coming from the wardrobe before he stepped outside and stalked over to me smirking. "Is that so?"

"Yes." I felt my body slide deeper down into the chair involuntarily.

He stopped at my feet, towering over me. "Little Wolf, you are no match for me. If I wanted to bend you over and take you, you would already be on the bed. Do you understand?"

I had tried to swallow but my throat was too dry. "And why don't you?"

His tongue tutted in his mouth. "My, my, my. Well, that would be far too easy. Then what would separate me from Alpha Blade? Him? He takes anything, without thinking. But me? I like a challenge; the game is the best part. And you, you are a challenge."

I pulled my lip into my mouth in anticipation as I felt a feeling I had never felt before—lust. But quickly drew back and regained my composure, sitting up straight. Remember why you are here. "I will not just be a puppet on a string."

He bent down so his face was only a mere few inches from my own and I could smell his scent, it was inviting. "And that, my dear, is exactly why you are here" He lingered in front of me for a moment before pulling himself away and back over to the closet. "Now I need you to help me choose what to wear for the Lunar Eclipse Festival. You will be attending too. I'll have no fight about that."

He confused me. First, he had told me that he wanted to make me his own personal slave and now I was helping him choose what suit to wear to the festival? It didn't make sense.

"Do I have a choice?" He responded with silence as he started to undo the buttons on his shirt, I quickly averted my eyes. "Can you not do that somewhere else?"

"I will do as I please." He continued undoing the final buttons and pulled his shirt off him, placing it on the bench. His muscular back was in full display now, my eyes scanning every inch of his bare flesh. I had never realised how athletic he actually was, I mean I had assumed that he was, but underneath the heavy blazer and shirt he usually wore you would never expect such defined and godlike muscles.

He turned back around to me, and I snapped my head away, looking in any possible direction and not showing him that I was taking interest. "Fine. But I will not be getting undressed in front of you, I will do nothing of the sort."

He wanted a challenge, so I'd give him one.

I had decided that he had already said I wouldn't be leaving here, and he had made it very clear that sending me to Alpha Blade was very much against his intentions, so how far would he really be willing to go to seduce me? This may be fun.

His hands reached for his belt buckle, and I sighed. He laughed in response. "You seem on edge, Little Wolf."

With my eyes still stuck to the floor, I shook my head. "I am no such thing. I am merely not in the mood to see my Alpha half naked considering I only met him a day ago." I had tried to speak with conviction, but it didn't sound like he was having any of it.

"No," he paused, "That's not it, is it?"

His belt was undone, and his trousers lay open, revealing his perfectly trimmed happy trail. God, why did everything have to be perfect about this man? "I don't know what you're talking about, Alpha Luke."

His eyes grew dark with anger. "You will call me Luke. Is that understood?" I nodded in response, and our eyes now met. "You don't seem to notice me, yet every girl in our pack falls at my feet. Why is that?"

"Could you be any more narcissistic?" I sat forward in my chair as he drew closer.

"Answer me."

"You want me to answer you honestly?"

"Yes, always." His jaw clenched in frustration.

I rose up to meet him, our noses mere inches away from each other. "Maybe they don't see how much of an egotistical maniac their Alpha is, how he cares about nobody but himself."

His hand raised in the air, ready to strike, and I flinched, closing my eyes, and bracing for impact. But instead, nothing. I opened my eyes and he was no longer in front of me, but instead across the room, his chest pounding up and down with his harsh breaths. "You really think that of me?"

I turned to him. "I used to be scared."

His gaze met mine. "Of what?"

My eyes fell to the floor. "You."

"And now? You've heard the stories surely."

“I know better than to believe fairy tales and myths,” I nodded. “And besides, I think you’re actually a lot softer in person now that I’ve met you.”

A loud laugh bellowed from his chest. “You think so?”

“I know so.” I stopped. “I think that you put on a mask for everyone in the pack to see, and now that you don’t have the mask on, you’re different.”

“Stop that,” he snapped. “Stop thinking like that, I demand it.”

“Fine.” I crossed my arms over my chest. “Now are you going to show me where I’m staying or not?”
