Chapter Ten
"Ground rules?" My eyebrows cocked. "What do you mean, ground rules?"
"The way things work here are a little different to what people may think" He cracked his knuckles and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt, leaning closer to me over the desk. "You've heard stories about my brothers and I, haven't you?"
"Yes," I said.
"Tell me them, tell me what you choose to believe." He sat back now, waiting to hear what I was going to say.
Pausing, I nodded my head. "You have five brothers. The other four run the surrounding packs. I was only taught about you and Alpha Blake. That was all that mattered. The rest I would never meet nor see."
"Good," he murmured. "And the rumours. I'm sure you have heard your fair share."
"Some," I shrugged.
He sat forwards in anger. "Speak up, little wolf!"
"I've heard a few." My mouth started moving faster than it should have. "About certain things. Sex parties mostly, but that could've been confused with Alpha Blake, or completely fake. Personally, I don't believe everything I hear. Especially not about something as sacred as—"
"Sacred as what?" His eyes narrowed, focusing on my breathing, my mouth, my pulse.
"As…" My words fell away as he stood up, stalking over to me, and leaning on the desk opposite me, his whole being towering over my small frame. "Sacred as…"
Feeling the intense pause, he leant down slowly so his mouth was level with my ears.
"As....what?" He purred.
Flipping my gaze up to his eyes, I swallowed hard. "As sex, Alpha."
Bringing himself back up, he let out a laugh. "You think that sex is sacred?"
"Yes" I nodded. "We are told from a very young age that the act of intimacy should be something that's only shared between two people in love. Two people who are mates"
"Bullshit" He spoke. "That's not true. I've told my mother for years that we should teach our pack to enjoy themselves, but she thinks we should keep things traditional. It's bullshit."
I stayed quiet for fear as to where the conversation was going.
"Sex is…" He trailed off and ran a hand through his hair, tipping his head towards the ceiling. "Sex is liberating."
"I wouldn't know, Alpha." My head stayed glued to the floor in embarrassment. "And I don't want to, not unless it's someone that I'm mates with. Only then will I ponder the idea."
Head snapping back down to me, I could hear him muttering to himself before he stood up and walked back over to the other side of the desk and sat down. I looked up at him again, watching him shuffling through papers.
"Here" He handed me a pile which I took and placed in front of me. It was a contract. "Have a look through this."
"What is it?" My eyes scanned over the paper, not quite sure why he had handed me a non-disclosure contract, or what it was for. "This better not be a legal agreement for me to sleep with you...because I'll walk out and never return."
"Where would you go?" His eyes darkened. "Besides, this is the opposite. It's simply a document that states that no matter what we speak about, or do, you cannot tell anyone. It is strictly between you and I."
"Is that so?" I raised my eyebrows. "And if I see anything I'm not meant to?"
He nodded to the papers in front of me. "Page thirty-five, section A."
Flipping to the page, I scanned the words, nodding my head slowly. "Okay."
"You need to sign it for it to be legal" He handed me a pen over. "Just at the bottom there, on the dotted line."
"And there's not some secret part in here that'll allow you to make me have sex with you, right?"
He chuckled. "No, everything that you do with me will be totally consensual, if you want."
Taking the pen from his large hand, I shook my head and signed my full name on the dotted line, looking at the page again and placing them down on the desk. "That won't happen, I can promise you that."
"Alright" He smiled. "Well, now that that's done, how about a tour?"
I narrowed my eyes, it seemed too easy. "Just like that?"
Standing up and straitening himself up, he motioned his hand towards the door we had previously came in. "Just like that."
